Papas Bakery — Restaurant in Milwaukee

We tried Papas egg bread at another store and we liked it so much we looked them up and decided to to check out their store. Located on Howell just south of the airport, easy to get to. The shop is small, but they always have a great selection, not a huge selection, but great! I highly recommend that you go early for the best selection. They put out fresh product daily but it's not restocked throughout the day, they start over and make new again after they close. Various breads, rolls, buns, donuts, deserts (some items we've seen are cookies, brownies, strudels, cinnamon rolls - it's been a little different each time we go in), our son's favorite item is the cinnamon swirl bread. There's a rack where everything on it is $1. Customer service is fantastic. Love chatting with the owner. If you are looking for something specific order it ahead. We went to Papa’s Bakery at an about 7:40 on a Saturday morning. The cases for baked goods were empty. Only thing in the store was day old bakery items. No one came out to greet us. We looked at the menu on the wall. Waited a couple of minutes and left. No customer service. No atmosphere and I can’t rate the food with none available in the cases.

In response to owner. Not only did I come in but 3 of us came in Saturday, August 2, 2025 at about 7:35 - 7:40. Sorry for the negative review. If I was from the area I’d try your bakery again. We are from out of town and don’t plan to come back to that area. Now I realize I should have taken a picture....

Just discovered this bakery Sunday and already came back for more. We purchased donuts, asiago bread (YUM), cinnamon bread (THE BEST THING EVER!), hot dog buns, chocolate cream pie, chocolate muffins, banana muffins, blueberry muffins, cinnamon apple muffins, chocolate chip cookies and turnovers. Everything is delicious and so moist and fresh!! And OMG the prices are so low! I almost didn't want to write this review because I don't want you all to go buy all the goods lol but they deserve their flowers!...
