Stayed there 5 nights in Nov, 2015. Only booked it 4 nights, but decided to stay an extra night because we like the hotel and Moab so much. Room storage and desk area design is good. Closet is a little small. Bathroom is nicely designed and has nice counter space. Water saving shower head like all hotels is not the best so I don't hold that against them. Staff is amazing here and so is the customer service. Mid-stay we had a family move in with a toddler that was screaming and banging something at 5am-6:30. They offered to move us, but I kindly pointed out that we weren't the problem and the next morning we realized the family had been moved. They gave us some extra Marriott points for our trouble with the noisy neighbor with a nice apologetic note and some snacks in a gift bag. A nice treat, but we were just happy that they were moved so that we could sleep. We also had issues with a heater unit smelling around 6:30 am one morning and it was promptly fixed. We even had an area wide power outage from 4am to 7:30am on the day of our check out. This hotel has a generator that still provided an amazing breakfast minus the usual waffles. If you walked into the lobby at 6am you would have never guessed it had no electricity. We used our i phones and i pads to pack as the rooms were dark. The breakfast here is substantial, always eggs, waffles, and assortment of breakfast meats, including healthier options like turkey sausage and the usual carbohydrates of muffins, toasts, etc. The staff keeps everything immaculate especially the breakfast area. One morning they even offered prepared omelets. I am not sure what title he holds, but one of the workers there who was very friendly, offered up a hike suggestion that he said was his favorite. It turned out to be ours as well and it wasn't in Arches or Canyonlands and it was close to the hotel. The point I am trying to make is that we did encounter some issues, some you get with any hotel, some with a newer hotel, but they always fixed it promptly and courteously. It was the staff that made our visit to this hotel...

The stay was not amazing. The pool is definitely the best part, for adults and kids. I also appreciated the breakfast buffet being open. Given that we were vaccinated I was comfortable with the open buffet. It was very convenient. Otherwise the room was very cramped and I did not think the room was cleaned very well. I found trash and other items on the floor and dust on lots of surfaces. My toddler spends a lot of time on the floor and touching the lower shelves and they were all dusty and gross. The worst part is that we weren't informed that they are not doing housekeeping. On day 1 we thought it was a fluke, on day 2 I was upset at the trash and dirty diapers piling in our room and I checked at desk. The front desk woman was not very helpful and didn't explain the policy, but she told me I could schedule cleaning. So I scheduled cleaning for the next day. Day 3 arrives and the room still was not clean. I went to the front desk and the woman didn't know what happened, just offered to send the house keeping staff in to clean then. We waited and tried to keep our toddler awake, but she was having a meltdown and we had to put her down for a nap. That's when house keeping showed up and we had to turn her away, but not before dumping our trash and getting new towels. Finally on day 4 the room got cleaned, one day before we left. This was our first time traveling with our toddler. I would never stay at a Fairfield again. I understand the covid-19 precaution around housekeeping. We stayed at another Marriott on day 6 that had signs everywhere about the policy! It's crazy we weren't told and there wasn't a single sign. And they messed up our scheduled cleaning. Being in a cramped room with a messy toddler (including dirty diaper trash) was upsetting. I was looking forward to relaxing and having some perks after being quarantined so long. I will think again before ever using this Marriott...

I was nervous to stay at a hotel because of covid. When we checked in, the receptionist was there without her mask on and looped it over her other ear covering her face when we came. There were also times when there were guests in the lobby without masks as well. Three separate times I had to go to reception to ask for something (pool towels twice, and hand lotion since it doesn't come in the room), and all times I had to wait at least five minutes. There was only one receptionist and she was always on the phone. Not a big deal, just annoying when I didn't want to be in the lobby more than I needed to during Covid. The breakfast was nice. They served food on disposable plates so you did not have to eat with other people and you could take the food up to your room. We always travel with a white noise machine, and I'm glad we did. The first night we could hear the conversations of the people in the adjacent room. The next night was much better, but I think they checked out. Instead there were people in the room above us. I don't think they were intentionally stomping, you could just hear them walking every time. Lastly, we booked this hotel for the pool/hot tub. I was happy it was open and heated but the hot tub jets were broken. It was nice sitting in the warm water, but would have been better after a long day hiking to have the jets. Social distancing in the pool was also not enforced or followed by many people. At least we stayed Sunday to Monday and there was just less people when we went in the pool Sunday evening compared to Saturday. While checking out, we checked to make sure we didn't forget anything. We flipped up the bed skirt and found eye drops that belonged to someone else - this didn't make me feel good about the cleaning of the room before we came. Thankfully we were leaving! Overall, an...

I'm only giving 4 stars because I'm so loyal to Marriott, but it felt more like a 3. This is my second stay at this hotel. I had a much better stay last time, which was a couple of years ago, but also in off season. When I came in, the front desk clerk was alone and had one customer and then had to answer the phone like 3 times until her child called and she put them on hold to check me in. So, as you can imagine she rushed me through and didn't mention which direction the room was. No big deal, I can figure that out. She did give me a menu for room service, which comes from the Springhill Suites next door. I didn't try it, but I put a photo of the menu in case you want to. We started binging a show on Showtime, but it froze or hung multiple times, which was frustrating and the remotes respond very slowly. It's probably time to change the cable or satellite provider. The rooms are standard and what you would expect, but they are starting to get a little bit tired. You can't get coffee or tea by yourself, there's someone there to do it. And, they stay hovering around the breakfast area because there is a tip jar, which is a pet peeve of mine. Pay your employees enough so that your guests have a hassle free stay. With covid, you'll get some prepackaged items for breakfast. There's orange juice, milk, yogurt and sometimes breakfast sandwiches. If you get a room overlooking the pool area, expect people to be outside enjoying it until 10:00 p.m. I've spent years getting Titanium status and it wasn't acknowledged when I checked in and I wasn't upgraded, even though this is the slow season. Definitely disappointed by the check in process. But, we came here to visit Arches, which we did on Saturday and Sunday and that was great. This is the time of year to visit because it's not over crowded or hot. :-)

This hotel is great! It's on the same property as the Springhill and shares the pool area. The pool is the gem of this place. 2 large swimming pools and 3, yes three extra large hot tubs. The setting is absolutely beautiful. It's decorated with natural looking rocks (not for climbing or jumping though) that bring in the beautiful landscape. The hotel was great all 3 nights we were there. Close to Arches, only 1 mile away. Close to canyonlands and only a 5 minute drive outside Moab. There is a beautiful landscaped walk with benches by the river. The breakfast got a little repetitive and very congested and busy. It would probably be better if it was set up in a circular fassion instead of all up against one wall. We had to wait for a table each morning and wait in lines to get our food. It was such a nice atmosphere and good quality food so not a big deal. Waffles with a variety of toppings, oatmeal with a variety of toppings, fresh fruit (grapes, bananas, cantaloupe), scrambled eggs, cheese omelets, hard boiled eggs, canadian bacon, turkey sausage, veggie sausage, all sorts of cereals, and breads, yogurt, milk, coffee bar... This is a great place to stay. We found the restaurant's in Moab were expensive with very few affordable family options or chains.

Nice hidden oasis in this middle of the Moab area. These hotels are located a bit north of town, but that is a good thing if you are coming in the peak season between April and October. They have two hotels (there is a Springhill Suites next door)that use the same pool area... google maps does not show it yet or do it justice. They have four large hot tubs, two pools and two wading areas with a huge splash pad area as well. They are very accommodating and both hotels were built in the last year so they are clean and new. Great choice if you are coming to the Moab area with a family. They are managed well, and they keep them clean even with high use. Unfortunately, Marriott has again pulled the rural recreation area stipulation with their rewards program for both of the properties. Expect to have to redeem the same number of points to stay here as most full Marriotts, as they have rated both of these properties as a category 8. Your worthless complimentary yearly certificates that you get... You are not going to be able to use them here.
