Lion's Park is along US Route 191 just as you are leaving Moab where the highway crosses the Colorado River. It is a relatively small public park situated right next to the main road and is the beginning of the much larger Colorado River Recreation Area.

There is a fair sized car park here along with a paved walkway to a bronze bridge that crosses the Colorado River. We enjoyed taking this short walk one afternoon during our stay in Moab. The bridge is simple in structure and includes contemporary sculptured decor that blends with the environment and scenery here.

It seems this is a popular area for mountain bikers as there were numerous information signs indicating routes and milage for those departing from or passing by here. At the river we could see raft boats being prepared for a journey down the Colorado.

Overall, not a critical outdoor stop to make but for those not planning on spending time in the impressive Arches or Canyonlands NP, Lions is a decent city park and nice gateway to the Colorado River...

Pretty cool little hub for outdoor activity in the area. Three separate parking lots help serve this location, providing ample parking. Access to three different paved paths for walking / running / biking / rollerblading / skateboarding - the Moab Canyon Pathway heads east, along UT-128 for about 2.5 miles (though we did witness some braver cyclists venturing out onto the highway beyond there), as well as west for nearly 9 miles, over the Colorado River, past the entrance to Arches National Park, on up to UT-313. The path also heads back southeast into Moab, though that appears somewhat impeded at the moment by road construction on 191.

Other amenities & features include fully-functioning restrooms, a small playground consisting of a few different rock structures for climbing, a small green "field" for lounging or yoga...

This parking lot is at the corner of Hwy 191 and Hwy 128 directly beside the CO River Bridge. We left my brother in laws truck there so they could ride the bike trail down from the Gemini Bridges/Hwy 313 area. This parking lot fills up quickly, so we got there very early. Moab is just too congested and overrun with people to be enjoyable anymore. There are typically 30" to 2 HOUR traffic jams every afternoon trying to get into town from the N, near this parking lot. They usually start by 1:30 pm and last until 8 to 8:30 pm, but on weekends they can start before Noon and last past 9:00 pm. S bound Hwy 191 typically backed up to the Arches NP entrance and many times up to a 1/2 mile N of Arches. Sometime the traffic is almost as bad getting out of Moab to go N, usually in...

Wanting a short morning walk before we parted ways, we chose to do this, for the first time. Absolutely beautiful area, with a paved trail. Interesting art on the bridge, amazing views, and petroglyphs, can all be seen. The trail is shared with bikes, the only drawback for us. While most cyclists are courteous, you always get the few who are not. Watch you kids. Clean restrooms were located in a building on the upper level. A kids rock climbing area located at the back by large grassy area. There are a few benches in that area.
