Sadly we just left after staying at this wonderful resort for the entire month of October 2023. Before I say too much more….let me say this, we have already booked the month of October for 2024 next year. Now to the nitty gritty; - the pool and spa were well cared for and chemicals checked daily to ensure a clean and safe environment. - bathrooms are cleaned and present extremely well with a “Moab” feel to the design. - most of the sites are very spacious and well laid out. Some of the camping area sites can be a bit tight. - the resort is located 3 minutes to the cute town of Moab that features many shops and restaurants. Or tons of Jeep and side x side rental shops. - Arches Natl. Park is also literally 5 mins drive away. You couldn’t get a better located park. - BONUS: there are cows and horses grazing in the adjacent fields which make for a fun time for animal lovers or kids who perhaps have never fed an apple or carrot to a horse. Btw, cows love them too!!! We are going to miss our four legged friends. - the small pond features a very quaint water feature that is soothing and pretty to see during the day while the back lake features fish swimming amongst two water features that are also lit up at night making it a def park feature. - from the moment you wake up until you turn in, the scenery surrounding the park is amazing. Trust me when I say, you will never stay in another park as beautiful featuring Moab as this one. During our month long stay we got to meet many of the owners of several Rv lots. “Yes” you can even buy your own lot there. I don’t know all the details but the lots are beautiful and “most” are available to rent throughout the year. Check with the office for details. Some of the owners we had the pleasure of meeting were; Alan and Lori, Jeff and Zack (his son) and Dianne and Gary. We were even able to “break bread” with them on an occasion or two. Now the best for the last……the staff at Portal Rv Resort; Teri the Manager: super kind and very friendly while being extremely attentive to our needs. She is genuinely concerned about the quality of your stay and isn’t afraid to ask how things are going or how can we make it better. Polly and Trevor the maintenance crew: you won’t find harder working people prepping sites for the next guests or checking the pool etc. too much to mention all what they do but trust me when I say they keep the place looking tip top and do so with a friendly demeanour to the guests. Want or need something special? Ask Trevor or Polly. Outstanding!!! Pat on the front desk: OMG, you want customer service and someone who will bend over backwards to get you a site? You better hope Pat answers the phone. Regardless when you check in she will have a smile and a friendly welcome for you as she gets you all set up for your stay. Andrew and Abby: maintenance and housekeeping. These kids worked their tails off and always had a smile on their face. Getting to know the staff over the month, we learned of a few things that they did that went above and beyond for the cabin/house owners and Roberts Resorts. Jenn and Lucy: they just arrived the last week we were there but we were impressed by how quickly they rolled into the process. Seemingly hard workers with a VERy friendly demeanour. They will be there over the winter months. They are great. Now the place wasn’t perfect…..the one thing I would really love to see the park do is pave the roads. This would do wonders for keeping the dust down on the rigs. Also if I’m being honest, the pool could use some repairs and sprucing up. Sounds simple enough but I’m sure is a very expensive price tag. Just some food for thought for the management at Roberts resorts. Pro tip for Roberts resorts: keep your staff. You have a winning combination. Loved our stay and thanks to EVERYONE. see you next October.

I am beyond furious with this RV park and their complete lack of responsibility and concern for customer experience. The price is exorbitant, and while the environment might be decent, the service is absolutely abysmal. I’m traveling with my 18-month-old child, and we arrived at the park at 9:30 pm, paying in full around $90. By 11:30 pm, the power in the entire RV park went out. There was no one to call, no staff around, and no way to communicate with anyone to address the issue. Considering it's the end of July in Moab, Utah, you can imagine the unbearable heat we were subjected to. Those fortunate enough to have generators turned them on, so by midnight, the park sounded like a giant running engine. We, however, do not have a generator, leaving us to endure the stifling heat and incessant noise with a crying, inconsolable baby. With minimal sleep, I went to the office at 9:15 am, hoping for some form of compensation for this horrendous experience. They told me that the power outage was due to scheduled maintenance, and the reason we were not notified was because they sent the notice to the wrong person within their company. And they added insult to injury by saying, "And really, it is not our fault that the power went out, and yes you didn’t get any notifications but that’s because we sent the email to the wrong guy. Plus, last night was not that hot." I thought it was more than reasonable to ask for a refund, but I didn’t. Instead, I requested a later checkout since none of us had any sleep and I don’t have any energy to deal with them. Their response was unbelievable: sure, but there would be a late checkout fee. I was left utterly speechless. Eventually, the front desk lady begrudgingly gave me a one-hour late checkout extension. Oh, and they handed me a Moab visitor guide, as if that would make up for anything. (and no, we did not extend our stay, I unhooked everything, we left the park 11 sharp, I’d rather stay on the side of the road than having anything to do with them any more). I had planned a three-day stay in town, but I am not even going into town anymore, thanks to this miserable experience at Portal RV. To conclude: avoid this RV park at all costs. It's the most expensive in the area and likely offers the worst service imaginable.

Still Love Village Camp Moab—But This Was a Letdown This is hands down the best place to stay in Moab. We love how close it is to downtown and the trails—can’t beat the location or the setup. That’s why this was our second year staying here, and why we booked our 2025 spots before even leaving last year. We paid in full and paid the lock-in fees for specific sites so our group—six campers, about 30 people—could all be together. About four months ago, we got a call from the camp host saying the owners of our reserved spots decided to come in, so we were being bumped. I asked what the point of a “lock-in” fee was if it doesn’t actually secure your spot, and whether there was any way to shift others around to keep our group together. We were told no. When we arrived, we were moved to the other end of the campground—completely away from our group. Another one of our groups was also moved without even being notified. So instead of 5 campers together, we had 3 campers split up all over the park—two together, and the rest all separated. It was a logistical nightmare, especially with kids and group meals, and not at all what we paid extra for. What really frustrated us was seeing different campers rotating through the very sites we were kicked out of every single night we were there. Meanwhile, we were booked for 5 nights straight—so why bump us? We still love the place, and I don’t want to take away from how amazing the overall experience usually is. But this was a big disappointment after planning and paying so far in advance.

The property is OK, but the lady we dealt with in the office should not even be in a customer relations position! Our RV trip to Moab include staying at two places. We first started our stay at Son outdoors and then today moved over to village camp just down the road from each other. We checked out of Sun Outdoors at 11:00 pulled in to village Camp at 11:15. Previously I called Village camp to find out if our rent spot was vacant prior to move in and one of the ladies in the office told me it was vacant the day before and an early check-in would not be a problem but today when we arrived at 11:15 Lisa told us we could not check in early when I asked why she said they were cleaning up our sites. I told her that someone had advised us that if our spot was vacant from the day prior, we could move in early. She told me we would still need to park in the alleyway and wait till the check in time of 1pm! So we went to town and returned about 115 to check in! But that’s not all I was in the park and a dog was a stray but following us in our vehicle as we were headed out of the park, I didn’t want the dog to get run over on the highway as it was following us so I tried to find the owner and couldn’t so I took it to the office and asked Lisa if she could notify the occupants That this dog belonged to someone in the park. She told me she would just call animal control. Then I asked if she would please notify all registered Gas via text with a picture because if my dog was picked up by animal control while on vacation that would really ruin my trip. She didn’t seem to care so I left the dog in the office with her, then went to get my vehicle to leave and before I even pulled out of the parking lot she let the dog out of the office to go astray again. She just didn’t seem to care about people or pets or anything. She was very rude and went out of her way to be rude and cause inconvenience! Not a person I would hire to work the front desk of a RV Park. I would not recommend this place nor...
