Country Host Motel — Hotel in Monee

Ended up at this motel after driving for hours thru Chicago never-ending road construction on July 4th weekend. It had the only 1st floor smoking room available within 2 hours, so decided to stop.

The owner/manager was very nice. The location was safe, the linens appeared to be new, clean and of good quality. The Room however, was in quite shocking shape... especially for $75.

It was apparently a room that was in the middle of a remodel. This was never told to us. The carpet had been pulled and replaced with vinyl "hardwood", which was nice. There was one queen bed that appeared to be new, the other bed was missing (but we only needed one bed). There was supposed to be a fridge and microwave. There was only a fridge that was the size of a tiny cooler, but no microwave. There was 1 nightstand, with the drawer missing and the front ripped off. There was a desk, but the desk chair was broken. The TV and cable box were plugged into an outlet that was controlled by the light switch, do if you turned off the light, no TV! The new curtains were straight ridiculous, as they would not meet in the middle.

The absolute worst issue was that it was a 99 degree day and the AC unit was off when we arrived. Even though we turned it on the coldest setting by 9PM, we just sat there sweating and miserable. It never got below 80 degrees in the room before checkout the next morning, so we got very little sleep, it was so very very hot in that...

We had been to a high school reunion, which ran late into the evening, and by the time we got to the hotel we were exhausted, so a walk through wasn't even considered.....I wish we had done so.||We could tell that this was not star ranked facility when we arrived, but it was late, we were tired, and we had already made a guaranteed reservation, as we were driving in from Michigan.||In the morning, while preparing to leave, we found that the bathroom was full of mold, mildew, and whatever else you could imagine, for a laboratory environment, but not a hotel!||Even the towels, when unfolded, had trace mildew.||In the light of day the exterior of the location screamed "NEGLECT".....painted over defects and improper repairs to the building, trash hidden away near stairwells, etc.||This place is a DUMP!||We attempted to speak to a desk person before we departed, but nobody would come to the desk when summoned.||Save your money, and your health.....stay somewhere else; there are many guest accomodations within 10-15 minute of this location that would be a...

This will be the most harsh review I have ever posted but this motel should be shut down. Don't stay there unless your selling your body for crack or a customer of such a person. The front desk people are not accomodating. The room was semi clean but don't open any of the drawers-they are disgusting. Haven't been cleaned in a long time. The bathroom had towells with spots on them and they were very thin and worn. I dried myself with a t shirt rather than use the towels.I had a room with 2 queen beds and one was lumpy and leaned to one side. The other was barely comfortable. Has a tiny tiny fridge no microwave no coffee maker. The door has no chain and the deadbolt was extremely hard to operate and when I had it locked I found it extremely hard to open up the door to get out. This place is run down the management is not friendly-they actually border on contemptuous. It's just icky. You'll want to shower and fumigate anything you brought in the room after you leave.
