Budget Inn — Hotel in Mount Pleasant

I had been driving for around 22 hours by the point that I stumbled upon this place. It looked fine from the outside, and I was just looking for a bed and a shower. I stopped, payed for the room, the woman in the office was very friendly. Went to Room 12, grabbed my shower bag and my smaller suitcase out of the trunk of my car, went up to the door, opened it, and was immediately hit with the smell of wet dog.

I am allergic to dogs, so I promptly lock the door, turn around, place my belongings back in my car and walk to the office. I first ask if there's another room that I can be switched to due to the smell and my allergies. I am told no.

I ask for a refund, as I don't want to risk the allergies. The lady in the office says "Sorry there's no refunds" and points to a sign. I once again ask, are there any other rooms? I can't sleep in this room, and don't want to lose the amount for the night, even though it's minimal.

Eventually, I am offered a refund, that may take up to 3 or 4 business days. I accept.

Maybe other rooms are clean. Maybe I got the bad one of the batch. Be wary of room 12.

I was just needing a few hours sleep and a shower so I wanted a cheap room. I stopped in at 2:15 am. The room on here showed $35. She says $50. We settled on $40 and I feel like I got ripped off. The only two things I wanted sucked. The sheets were stained and there was hair on the bed. It looked like someone had slept in the bed and just remade it in the morning. I was beat so I slept anyway. When I got up to shower the water pressure was on par with a squirt gun. Not a super soaker, like a $.50 plastic squirt gun. Oh well, I know...

I've found Budget Inn very appropriate for travel. If I'm only going to grab some sleep and hit the road again, I certainly don't care about paying a higher price for amenities I won't be using. I've always found Budget Inn to be pretty clean, organized, and with enough staff to be very comfortable for a clean, decent night's...
