Feb 2024 We stayed in cabin 1. The room was great. It was clean and neat. There was plenty of room for us and our bulky gear. The bed was great. The pillows were not comfortable for me. a side sleeper but were fine for my wife. The kitchenette was nice but very small. It would be nice if there were a small table under the window near the fridge to set things on. The room was very quiet. We could not hear any noise from next door. There was almost no traffic on Squaw valley rd. The highway is far enough away that noise should not be a problem even with the windows open. My only complaint is the lack of heat in the bathroom. The ceiling fixture looks as though it could take old fashioned heat lamps. Baring that a portable heater like the one near the bed would work. We were recommended to Shasta View by a co-worker, He was spot on. We will stay at Shasta View next time we visit McCloud. Thank you for your hospitality.
Back again Apr 5-6 2024 Same cabin 1. Same great experience. This time I took the portable heater into the bathroom, worked like a charm. As to the pillows we brought our own this time. I am sure the existing pillows are fine for most folks, due to age and wear and tear we find we need very...
Read moreMy fiancé and I booked a cabin here for our wedding night in June. Our family also made reservations for Shasta View Lodge to stay over the weekend for our wedding. We booked the cabin in November, and received a message today (February) canceling our cabin due to a double booking. They told us a wedding is happening at Shasta View Lodge the same weekend, which is odd that they failed to mention that three months ago, when we booked. Only a $75 credit to Shasta View Lodge was offered to us, despite them having multiple hotels and other lodges they manage in the area. After we told them we would be going to airbnb support, they offered the $75 credit to one of their other lodges, which is $300 more than a stay at Shasta View Lodge. Now, my fiancé and I have to find different housing for ourselves and our family. This is the last thing I want to be worrying about when preparing for my wedding. It appears that they care more about making money than taking care of their guests, which is so inhospitable. I am disappointed I will never stay there, nor will I want to, since the management is disorganized and...
Read moreThis place looked really nice. My Fiancé and I booked a suite for our wedding night and beginning of our honeymoon 7 months in advance. They confirmed our reservation immediately. Later on, they reached out to us and told us they had double booked, asking us to cancel our reservation on Airbnb to avoid the host cancellation penalties. Another couple wanted to reserve the whole lodge for a wedding the same weekend, and they kicked us out to double their money. They offered to give us $75 towards a future booking at the Shasta View Lodge, but wanted us to pay an extra $300 to book their other Airbnb 30 minutes away. We asked if we could stay there for the same price, since they screwed up our wedding night plans, and they refused. As beautiful as the place is, I'm never doing business with these guys again. The Airbnb host was Taylor Homes LLC. It wouldn't let me write a review on Airbnb since they cancelled on us...
