McCloud Market — Local services in Mount Shasta

Was not happy with how the cashier handled cash back on a debit card purchase! We purchased over $100 in groceries & supplies, but when we tried to get $40 cash back she said that our bank was not allowing this transaction and that we should use the ATM in their store to get cash...FOR A FEE!!! Of course the ATM worked No problem with our debit card. We were on vacation & camping 17 miles out of town. When we returned home & I checked with our bank I discovered that the cashier had been the problem...great way for this store to make some...

Great little place right in the heart of McCloud. Stopped in after a long three days in the back country fishing. The thing I loved most was the vibe from the people. Friendly, inquisitive and inviting. I could have sat there swapping stories with the folk all day! We were there when the weather was just perfect, the locals were out, waving and smiling in the little town area. Cold beer and some chips, a little bit of fixins to make sandwiches in the little park nearby and life.....

This is a very good market for being in what feels like deep in the woods. They have some organic produce, some decent cheeses (like Gouda, yum!), and made in house rotisserie chickens. While the prices are a little bit higher then what you might find at big box stores, for us it was well worth the convenience. If you're shopping for a big family it might be tough but for small groups...
