Small, unassuming cafe on the ground floor of the McCloud Mercantile. I've eaten here a few times in the past but its been a while and I feel like the menu is different. I just ate the best breakfast I've had in a very long time! Chicken and Waffle. O. M. G. The chicken is brined then dipped in an amazing batter and deep fried - and so crispy on the outside and tender on the inside that you can cut it with a fork. The waffle was perfection, and the whole thing has a light drizzle of maple syrup and toasted pecans, then a poached egg right on top. I ate every crumb. My friend had the biscuits and gravy breakfast which she said was amazing also and certainly looked great- with very generous portions. The gravy had fresh herbs in it which gave it a very unique flavor, and the potatoes were crispy on the outside and perfect in the center (she had the spuds, not hashbrowns). We washed it all down with a good cuppa joe and a glass of the AMAZING McCloud ice water. Very well done White Mountain Café!!

White Mountain Café in McCloud is a hidden gem that perfectly captures the charm of a small-town family diner. It’s the kind of place where locals come in regularly, and the staff treats everyone like family. The portions are generous, so you definitely get your money’s worth. The food is classic American comfort food, made fresh and served hot. My kids absolutely love it, and it’s great knowing we can always count on a fulfilling meal here. What really stands out is the friendly, professional, and down-to-earth staff. The service is excellent—everyone is attentive, kind, and makes you feel right at home. It’s clear that this is a family-run business that takes pride in what they do. If you’re in McCloud and looking for a hearty meal in a welcoming, small-town setting, White Mountain Café is definitely worth a visit. We’ll absolutely be back!

We were there on a fairly hot July day (after going to the McCloud River Middle falls, highly recommend). We were looking for a quiet, comfortable, inviting place to eat. So so glad that we stopped in here! The service was absolutely excellent! That small town kind of friendly way that isn't easily found these days. The food was really good. Especially the house made pulled pork sandwich, mmmm! Even the "basic" burger was sooo delicious, old school style, not commercial, if you know what I mean. ....and the real, fresh made onion rings are fabulous! We're looking forward to going back there to try other items on their menu.

We love McCloud and we eat here every time we come into town. I think one of the owners is the cook and his food is always fabulous! We stopped here in March 2013 and they were also offering dinner a few days a week and it was awesome! Last time we were in town we had breakfast here all 3 mornings. There was a woman cooking on the last day and it was OK but no as good as usual- the fruit was old- which has never happened before. The service can be hit or miss. The one wateriness with big loop earrings, she might be the owner as well, doesn't seem to like out of town people and will just ignore you...no coffee, no check ins, kind of an attitude. One of the times we went there her and another local guy were complaining about the parking and making jokes about tourists. Not the kind of attitude you like to get when your giving them your money every time your in town. But the food is almost always fantastic and there really is no other place in town that has food of this quality. I just made friends with the guy that was helping out and he was more then happy to say hi and refill...

We had the Dlx bacon cheeseburger with fries and ranch and the monte cristo sandwich with fries. It took 40 minutes to recieve food. We had to ask where the food was and the waitress said kitchen was backed up and apologized for the delay. The burger tasted ok just average (comparable to a cafeteria burger). It would've been way better if there was some special sauce or something and the meat patty could have been thicker, it was just an average burger. Fries were hot and tasty and the ranch that we got with the fries tasted like it was from a bottle and not homemade. Drink cups are too small about 10oz minus ice space so I had to get lots of refills. The monte cristo sandwich was ok. The turkey in the sandwich had a funny flavor to it, like it was a litle old. Overall it was just ok and we feel if they were to just get the small details right it would have been way better. We...
