We had to return from our gifted trip to Ireland due to illness which canceled our New Years plan to travel on own to Edinborough. After having such a fine experience at Amish Acres last Year we booked while still overseas at Countryside Inn to cheer ourselvesourselves. We returned home to a broken furnace and confusion w our tickets at the event. Driving up late we called to see if could doewnsize our number by one to save on cost and explained. They suggested we try online which we had but they said to contact hotel. The mgr said he would try .and we could sort out on arrival. I called back to say we were running even later and would need to rush if hoped to make dinner and the desk clerk said to just go on and enjoy..we could arrv late without problem.
When we did arrive at 10:30 we were told the bill had been adjusted and credit already applied!! They provided wifi password and said that late check out would be ok..still not feeling greastil Great news. Our room was quite clean and had a nice quilt on it. The tv was older model but staff had given good instruction on use of satellite..lots of channels AND what I appreciate a full list of channel numbers. Bath had even provided mat to avoid slipping..though the shower head a bit low on water volume all amenities worked and preseamenities. Pictures accurate showing table chairs and mini fridge. I also appreciated being able to raise the new looking wide windows for fresh air. Room was cozy when arrived and heating and cooling options made for comfort. Beds a bit firm but obvious renovating ongoing.
Breakfast included bagles.toast.w jelly jam, butter, and cream cheese; fresh fruit, danish, toast, hard boiled eggs, cereal, juice and coffee. There were sweet table and window dressings as well as Christmas decorations. Brochures and multiple entrances. There was a small area w a couple of comfy wing chairs, magazines, and large flatscreen.
The regular breakdast time (630 to 930) was greatly extended to almost 11:00 due to holiday guests late hours and replentished cheerfully as needed. He said he was suprised anyone was up when he arrived! Last year I received none at another location as breakfast ended at 930 on New Year s Day.. Although crowded at times people formed friendships sharing tables much like when taking the train.
Staff was consistantly friendly and accomodating. I overheard a guest saying she wanted to pay for the ice bucket she was taking. Her daughter had eaten something and was ill all night and they faced a llong drive. The mgr said leave it in the room and gave her one he fetched from storage at no charge. When I asked for a extra towell one or more were no issue.
The pool ..ourdoors was closed so no comment.
The building was cute to see and had a carport..which is handy w entry at both ends.
To summarize..if you want a hot breakfast, luxery matress and tv, or impersonal staff Countryside may not be your place. However if you want to receivea good value for yoyr money for a simple stay in a clean and cheerful hotel including breakfast and meet some really nice staff and guests then this is the place.
On leaving I thanked the manager for fixing my reservation and crediting me (a battle usually long and hardly fought by oneself. Often to no good resolution) and he said it took a few calls but he was successful!!!
To me that s...
Read moreI wish I could say my stay here this time was like it was all the other times I’ve been here. First things first I get in my room and it smells like a wet dog. The comforter on my bed still had dog hair all over it from the previous guest. The office chair was never wiped down had dog hair all over it. I looked past that and later on that night when it was time to go to bed, whoever was sleeping in the room above me Had dogs and they kept running around that room like it was a marathon whoever their owner was, was scooting furniture around all night. I literally did not get one minute of sleep and I’m a professional driver and now I have to go drive for 11 hours. I asked the lady at the front desk if she could contact them to notify him that the dogs were being loud she said she would, but they never stopped. Tried to look past all that again, And told myself well if I get a shower and go down there and get some breakfast, I should be OK but once I got down there to get breakfast, Everybody just rushed the breakfast counter like they were a heard of cattle. So needless to say, I got no sleep And no breakfast. After all the money that I have spent here in the last several months, I will not be visiting this establishment again, And I highly recommend you don’t either. And if you’re a professional driver like me I highly recommend you go to another Hotel because driving without sleep is...
Read moreWe were traveling on a Vacation-Roadtrip and had a long commute and decided to stay one of the nights at CountrySide Inn in Napanee Indiana. This is a cute place in the middle of a huge Amish-Mennonite town. Staff were super friendly and rooms were very spacious and we had been traveling on our way bk to Minnesota from Washington DC-West Virginia area and out of all the hotels we stayed at on our way or on the way bk this hotel had the absolute Comfiest Beds and Comfiest Pillows of any of them we all really appreciated that and got good sleep. It was very clean, had great hot water, great wifi, was quiet and super friendly. We really appreciated that it felt more welcoming or more like going to stay at a comfortable lodge than a chain hotel it felt much less sterile. Prices were good and our GPS took us along some really pretty back roads to get there. It's relatively close to a town with gas stations or restaurants and the town had a Scooters Coffeeshop we stopped at on our way home that was closeby there. They left us a personalized note welcoming us there when we stayed which was really nice. Only really good things to say about this place other than their breakfast is pretty basic. But rooms were well thought out and nice and was a very clean and very comfortable place. We would recommend it or stay there again if...
