Do not ever stay here!!! I come into town quite often for work. My company has book hotel through a third party called clc. This week through clc all the hotels in the area were super expensive (I assume it was because of Easter). I started looking for alternatives and found this hotel that I would normally stay at for their normal price. I talked it over with my company and used the company credit card to purchase the room. I arrive here at about 4pm and the woman behind the desk asks for a security deposit of 100 dollars that priceline never said anything about. Not an issue because I have my company credit card. I hand the woman the card because she wouldn't let me stick it in the machine looks back at me and says she needs the 100 dollars that the card was declined and to give her cash.i don't ever have any cash and my personal debit card only had a few bucks on it. I said that is weird that the company credit card was had declined and said well it must be because of some daily limit and take the card number and run it again at midnight that it will be there. She refused. I said well if you're refusing to give me the room then I want my money back. She said that she wasn't refusing to give me the room that I was refusing to pay 100 dollars. I then proceeded for the next 2 hours on the phone with priceline and choice hotels. I presented a series of alternatives to remedy the situation which was all refused. She told priceline that she didn't have the authority to do anything other than running my card or giving her cash and that she couldn't call anyone with the authority to make a decision. She also told the people at choice that she did call the manager and got no answer. When asked again she said that she did talk to the manager and the manager said that I would have to give the deposit.i don't believe her at all. She was definitely lying and not sure which scenario she was lying about. It is Easter Sunday late evening not expecting to be able to talk to anyone at the bank. After all avenues were exhausted I decided to call the bank (I do wish I called them first). To my surprise I got a person on the phone. After explaining the situation to him he said to me the card was declined because this idiot put in the wrong expiration date 😡😡. After a few minutes of regaining my composure I went back in and told her to run the card again and this time put in the correct information. She did and the card was approved. Instead of saying sorry which mistakes happen and no 1 is perfect this jerk proceeded to tell me that she did enter the information correctly and that I must have transferred money over or something. Which immediately sent me back into a state of rage!!! Myself and my company spend alot of money at this hotel a year, never again!!! I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!! They could care less about me staying out in the cold rather than working with me and I honestly got the impression that this woman just wanted the cash. I would warn you to never stay here. If you're coming to the area there is a holiday inn about 1/4 miles away that is very nice place to stay!!! I will be taking pictures of the state of the room when I leave. I don't trust these people. I'm sure after I leave they will try and claim I did some sort of damage to the room. It's pretty bad when you can't trust the staff at a hotel!! Update: I checked out of the hotel today Friday April 5th. As up to this point not a single person with any type of authority has even tried to make up for the experience of Sunday. I did call choice back and they where very apologetic and gave me 8000 points. I said the points are appreciated however the particular employee record she be looked at and if she had any complaints like this before then she should be fired. If not a formal reprimand should be placed in her record! I still can't believe that no 1 there with any authority even made an attempt to make...

Upon arrival in Queens at 2:15pm, I was told that check in was not until 3:00pm. Oridinarily I would have questioned that so close to check-in, why no rooms were available. Friday was a different story. We had driven all the way from Boston that morning and needed lunch so for me it didn’t matter if we checked in before or after lunch.
After spending an incredible night in Manhattan with friends, we returned to the Comfort Inn shortly after 12:30am. At about 1:00am, we heard an attempt to open our hotel door. Not completely understanding what was happening, I had my fiance go to the door to inquire as to who was trying to enter the room. It turned out that the front desk staff had issued keys to our room to someone else. Thankfully, we had used the inside latch to prevent anyone from entering even with a key. My fiance promptly told the person at the door that we were already checked into the room and please check in with the front desk.
The front desk began to repeatedly call our room and woke us up to inquire as to who we were. They did not believe the information we provided and called back 4 more times. We provided our information over the the phone, but that was not enough. Clearly not satisfied, the front desk person proceeded to come to our room, bang on the door and demand to know who we were and why we were in that room. Finally, for the umpteenth time, we gave him sufficient evidence of us belonging in the room and were able to go to sleep.
Upon waking the next morning, I went to the front desk to question the events of the previous evening. I explained to the person at the desk, who happened to be the person who checked us in, what happened. She showed zero remorse and all she could say was: “That should not have happened.” Yes, we all know that, but what are you going to do about it? She refused to give any consideration to the fact that our safety was at risk with the actions of the hotel personnel. I have worked in a hotel before and this is the greatest violation that can happen upon a guest.
My fiance’s daughter was scheduled to check in to our 2nd reservation that afternoon and I simply requested an early check in for the room after my inconvenience. I can not believe that I was denied this simple request after the egregious actions of the morning. The front desk person refused to even consider it. At this point I was dumbfounded by the action or inaction of the staff.
By now, we were running late to meet up with the family back in Manhattan so I let this ridiculousness go to enjoy a beautiful day in the city. While in the city we received a call inquiring as to why our belongings were still in the room. We simply replied that it was because we had booked a two night stay….
The complete ineptness of this hotel baffles me. Never have I had such a horrendous experience. I think a 10 year old could run this place better. This specific location has a toxic culture that needs to be addressed. We have had many other great stays at Choice Hotels in the past and will continue to frequent despite this one clearly...
Read moreMy family and I stayed here for a few nights & to be honest I was very skeptical about this place being that it’s across from the cemetery which seemed very spooky. On the other hand, our stay turned out wonderful that the cemetery wasn’t even something to think about (we asked to have a room away from the cemetery, which was granted) The price was beyond great compared to some over priced hotels & the main thing that caught my attention about this hotel was the convenience of the shuttle from and to the airport as well to the train station & back something NO other hotel offered and if they did it was either one or the other or stopped early as this location is until 12:30am & this is why this hotel will be in business for a long time. Those other hotels are overpriced and offers NOTHING screw looks and go for quantity over quality!! We couldn’t stress enough how great of a stay we had! First impression was the shuttle driver Jamie who is AMAZING, friendly and an all around people person great for this business! The staff is ALL wonderful and welcoming and they don’t bother you and welcome everyone with open arms. The morning, evening and night shift front desk staff are ALL amazing, have amazing attitudes, and are very attentive! The breakfast was delicious, the housekeepers were amazing and they all seemed family oriented which is a plus when running an hotel. Kudos to the manager (which I never met) because that’s the person that runs the ship by hiring great workers keep up the great work. On the other hand, there was one shuttle driver he works the AM shift (DEAN) not so friendly, not a people person, and rude if you asked me which is a negative for this hotel although I’m not going to give them a bad review due to him but if I could rate him he would get a zero from me & if he keeps it up a lot of persons would rate him a zero as well, he was pretty much the Grinch of our trip plus if you read some of the reviews he is the one shuttle driver persona are talking about which is so darn accurate! On the other hand, Jamie again AMAZING and the other guys are also AMAZING in which I didn’t get their names but great guys. Keep in mind the shuttle drivers are with us more than the front desk as well the first impression of the hotel if you have no car! Also if the shuttle goes out 5AM we should leave at 5 AM, because when Dean says oh I’m not leaving at this or that time he does just that so when we’re told 5 AM it shouldn’t be 5:05 AM just saying!! Another plus their VERY kid friendly as we are a big family and never felt unwanted but always welcomed! Again thank you ALL so much for loving your job and making each and every person you meet feel welcomed and for just being great at your job while loving what you do & I wanted you ALL to know you’re doing a great job Keep up the great work! Will be sure to stay here again if and when we make our next visit to New York! Happy New Year...
