Thrifty Inn — Hotel in Newton

Pros: Just off the interstate. Close to fast food restaurants and Wal Mart|| Customer Service was great. The manager was very easy to talk to and work with.|| Great rates. I would suggest if you want to get info on best rate to call. I got two rooms for a week that totaled $500. || Quiet. No loud guests, music, or cars.|| Clean. There were no site of bugs. I did have 1 fridge that had mold around the door. That wasn't pleasant. I grabbed a small bleach and cleaned it. I'm sure the housekeeping would have if I'd called. They were sweet. It was just one of those things that I didn't have a problem handling myself. Other than that...the room was clean.||||Cons: No internet for guests|| Some of the furniture showed its age. The bathrooms, though clean could use some work. One of our toilets wasn't the easiest for my little one to flush. You had to hold the flusher pretty long to get a "good" flush. You could see the tubs had been painted to cover up spots and some had been chipped. The shower in our room didn't work so we used the shower in the kids' room.|| The towels were old. I always bring my own towels when going to hotels so it wasn't a major problem for me. However, for people that rely on them, these were kinda...well...icky. Looks like they haven't been replaced in a couple years or so even though they WERE clean.||||Overall, this is a two star inn. I'm guessing most of their guests are truck drivers and people stopping for a night. I don't think you'd want to use as a vacation place; there is absolutely nothing to do in Newton. This place is very decent for the price. Most places this price are filled with a "bad crowd", rodents, and rooms you wouldn't dare lay down in. This one was...

Stay awayStay away First off I want to say I usually do not send bad reviews on any hotels we travel alot. My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a family Reunion, we arrived early that morning and got settled in our room. We put the ac on high and left to go spend our time with family. The end of the day we came back to our room and it was so hot you could not stand it, we were moved to another room and there was mold in the bath tub. My husband asked for a refund on the room or a discount because we were going to go somewhere else for the weekend. They would not give a refund and stated they could only move us to another room. There was no way I was going to stay here.This place is nasty, dirty, smells, towels were stained brown and the refrigerator had an awful smell. The front desk person and the owner are rude...
