If I could leave 0 stars I would. DO NOT stay here. I'm from out of state & had to visit for an event. I booked using a third-party service & paid what seemed reasonable for a Saturday night, considering everywhere else in the area was either booked or much pricier. Believe me, I regret not spending the extra money! First of all, I booked a TWO-bedroom suite. Was only able to use ONE of the rooms bc I found actual FLEAS in the 2nd one. I pulled down the top sheet & saw 3 small dark spots. I went to brush them away w/ my hand & they JUMPED. You might be wondering, why didn't I leave & go somewhere else? I tried! It was almost 3 am & there was nothing else available in the area due to the huge event that was in town. We arrived @ 4 pm & checked in - basically threw our stuff down, quickly got changed & left. We were rushing to get to the event & were already running late. We didn't have time to examine the room yet. When we finally got back after 2 am to get ready for bed, that's when we discovered the fleas in the 2nd bedroom. We IMMEDIATELY went to the front desk to complain & the night guy was totally unconcerned. He said he couldn't offer us another room bc there was no vacancy. Feeling helpless & defeated, we went back to the room & debated sharing the other bed vs sleeping in the car (but since it was loud outside & there were shady looking people walking around, we decided maybe we'd share the bed to try & get a couple hours of sleep & leave as early as possible in the am.) Upon checking the other bed, we found a huge hair that had literal dust bunnies attached to it. We also discovered the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. I mean, there were pubes, there were men's hairs in the sink, the faucet, mirror & counter were filthy, the sink hadn't been cleaned, there was a weird brownish red substance on the walls, the toilet didn't look like it had been cleaned, & don't even get me started on the tub/shower. We were exhausted & just wanted to sleep but had to deal w/ this gross nonsense. Honestly it's a health dept issue & that's going to be my next call, bc this place is a completely unsanitary flea-bag DUMP! All the walls & doors are filthy, I'm talking hand prints & dirt smudged everywhere. Every piece of furniture had sticky spots and a layer of dust, the desk chair had white crusty stuff on it & was nearly ripped to shreds as if a dog had chewed it up - all the furniture basically looks trash-picked. The mini fridge had what looked like peanut butter smeared inside, the microwave also had caked-on food left in it. Not to mention, both rooms stunk like cigarettes even though we booked NON-SMOKING. To top it all off - the staff DOES NOT CARE. Don't bother complaining about anything because they'll basically tell you to kick rocks. I spoke to 2 different front desk people who couldn't have cared less & just kept arguing w/ me. When I finally did get in touch with the manager, Agita Patel, she was downright nasty. She said she checked the room, saw no issues (this is 2 days later, mind you) & told me that since I still chose to stay, that's my problem. I asserted that the very least she could do is offer me 50% back since I only used 1 room when I paid for 2 & she laughed at me. I stated that I was trying to be reasonable & hoped she'd work w/ me bc I wanted to avoid calling the health dept, leaving a bad review, posting pictures, etc. & she literally said "WE KNOW WHAT WE HAVE. WE DON'T CARE. A COUPLE BAD REVIEWS WON'T AFFECT US. YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANYTHING BACK FROM ME." More words were exchanged, but that was the gist of it. She was completely unapologetic & rude. Moral of the story is, these people run a FLEA-BAG SLUM that is completely unsanitary & unsafe & they don't give a damn. They are thieves. I wish I had taken more pictures. I've called my bank to dispute the charge & my next stop is the health dept. This place shouldn't even be allowed to stay in business & I WILL get my money back. Needless to say, I got NO sleep and felt like my skin was crawling the whole time...
Read moreMy gfriend and I decided rather last minute to stay an extra day in Providence and needed an inexpensive place just to spend the night. As it turns out, even motels now are relatively expensive! (Haven't stayed in a motel in years)||||Anyway, this was one of the cheaper options in the area, at $180 (including fees + taxes). The photos of the rooms & the "full breakfast buffet" the motel posted recently and generally readily accessible online look alright--decent layout, cleanliness, light, amenities, etc.||||I'm here to tell you that this motel is a lying sack of refuse. The place wasn't 'disastrous'... But basically every element was significantly worse than advertised, on the level of the 'cheap, rundown' motel stereotype||||To wit {and see photos}:||• Our non-smoking room smelled vaguely like smoke masked with Lysol air freshener||• The room was small (significantly smaller than pictured online), beat-up and rundown. The walls were painted a weird ugly blue instead of white/cream, were chipped and scratched. The bedside table had a big burn mark on it. The sparse furniture was chipped, falling apart. The carpet was old, vaguely smelly, and stained. The bathroom curtain was irreparably stained||• Only stark white fluorescent lights||• The Wifi password was scribbled illegibly & we couldn't get it to work||• The keycard stopped working after the first swipe||• The air conditioner was janky & held together with packing tape. It was so loud and clunky on every setting that, even tho doing so rendered the room hot (and it was a hot night), we had to turn it off before going to sleep||• The "full breakfast buffet" advertised was actually just coffee, sugary orange juice, and packaged 'Bimbo' junk food mini-muffins||• Thinking we might've gotten a dud, we asked the desk person if there was another non-smoking room available. He directed me to check one out, and it was pretty much the same, cigarette smell and all!||||I'd say the few positives were:||• The bedding and towels were basically clean||• They did leave the basic toiletries||• There weren't any noticeable bugs (at least in this particular room)||• There were a small number of sketchy characters on the premises--perhaps some drug users, maybe even sex workers (tho how do they afford $180+ a night to stay there?)--but being on the second floor, the noise level was quiet enough with the window closed & no one bothered us||• The person at the front desk was not not nice||||I mean, I've stayed in a small number of seedy motels in my day, several more run down than this--but that was on a cross country road-trip in the middle of the night & for like pennies, as motels used to be. . . Realize prices have gone mad post-pandemic. But, still, there's a limit. . . This one would be 'alright' and 'understandable' if it were, like, $90. But not only is it $180--what a decent hotel used to cost--but they're also deceiving guests about the quality and amenities||||Stay...
