SCAM ALERT - Red Roof and Red Roof-affiliated hotels are not reputable hotels. The Red Roof hotel in Washington Pa. charges and then does not refund room safe deposits. This Hometowne Suites by Red Roof hotel charges $100 security deposits and does not return them upon checkout. Reputable hotels refund such items immediately after check out and most of the time the charge never even appears on your credit card statement. Many Red Roof hotels, however, have dishonest managers who try to get over on their guests as they realize that a lot of guests will just assume that the amount is reversed by the hotel and never even check to see if it actually was. This is management's way of making extra revenue from those who don't later follow up. When I called the property and spoke to Michelle about getting the charge refunded she said that it was my responsibility to ask for the refund of the $100 security deposit. After I asked her for an email confirmation from her that the amount would be refunded and hung up on me. I’m still trying to get this amount refunded. Stay at a reputable hotel so you are not in this situation. According to my original Priceline reservation all taxes and fees were included but Michelle still charged me a $3.97 per not occupancy fee. I stayed at this hotel for a total of 10 nights. On Day 2 or so the toilet stopped working and the front desk had no one on duty to fix it. It was not until the next day that they put me in a different room and the guy who transferred me made it sound like I was a complainer because I wanted a functioning toilet. Wow! When I extended my room by three nights they charged me more for an upgraded room for those three nights because, unknown to me at the time, the room that they transferred me had two beds whereas the room that I originally booked (the one with the toilet issues) had only one. They later told that the room that I was transferred to was an upgraded room when I was both by myself and did not need an extra bed and I did not ask for an upgrade. They charged me more for the room that they transferred me to despite the fact that I would have been in the original cheaper room had it not been unuseable because of the broken toilet. So instead of taking something off of the price of the original room for going a night without a working toilet they charged me more for the room that I was transferred to. Wow! I complained to the manager, a girl at the front desk who told me that "I don't really care because it won't likely come back on me because I am new" and Michelle, who was a total FB to me my whole stay, but none of them cared. Michelle was such a FB. She stares incessantly at you and laughs at you when you walk by because she is a product of her WFT parents and the WFT Washington area that she grew up in. The breakfast setup was decent but the place was very dirty and there were flies. I will never go back! Proof of lies in Hotel's response to my review: 1. Priceline does not charge for security deposits. See attached Priceline reservation on July 8th which clearly does not include a $100 deposit and the attached screenshot of the July 12th charge by the hotel which does include the $100 screenshot. 2. I checked out on Tuesday July 22nd. The refund hit my account on August 6th per the attached credit card screenshot, and not Monday July 28th per their response. The Hotel's response claims my review "contains false claims or misleading accusations about our staff or our practices” and “The information shared in this review is not an accurate reflection of the events that occurred, and we stand by the professionalism of our team.” Reality: Bullshit! The attached screenshots don’t lie and your team has no professionalism!

This hotel room had one of the best looking rooms I've stayed in for awhile but after we left to go eat dinner on the last night we came back to the outlets not working which included the ones for the coffee maker the microwave and the refrigerator that we needed to keep are leftovers in so they didnt go bad so I went down to the front desk the guy was very nice but didnt really know what to do but switch are room which I agreed to until I say that it was a huge downgrade from what we were staying in I mean literally smaller then half the size of the room we had been staying in which I'm certain would have been alot cheaper in price and was told that was all that was available or could be done so I said never mind went back up to the room and figured I'd just use a different outlet to plug the microwave into an when I plugged it into a different one that entire side of the room plus the entire bathrooms light all turned off so we had no choice but to stay in a room with half the lights not working no appliances working and no lights in the bathroom at all ....

So my experience with this hotel was honestly a horrific experience this hotel would of definitely received a higher review had the owner of the motel not been the most vile, inconsiderate, person I've delt with in years, prior to leaving ky, we'd reserved our room during the conversation it was explained to us that we were paying for the room at that time, this was needed because of issues we'd experienced recently with our banking systems so the card was borrowed, the lady specifically stated we paid for the room no extra steps were needed however when showing up 24 hours later the employee on duty explained the hotels policy was we needed a statement threw email and a copy of the persons licence(my mother) she was extremely helpful and patient understanding that we'd had a miscommunication and allowed us to make contact with my mother to email the needed stuff, I cannot think the receptionist enough for her hard work as while doing this she's going back and forth with her other work, the whole process took 2 5 minute encounters with the receptionist and maybe 1 2 minutes encounter as we understood she had other stuff to do so we kept walking outside to handle what we needed to, finally when we get everything solved and she is able to book us in a man walks around the corner, the man turned out to be the owner or manager whichever of the hotel, was zero understanding or consideration for the fact that his employee was the reason for issue he immediately starts jumping down not only our throats as well as the receptionist making all kinds of nasty comments not only about us but then immediately starts making nasty comments but honestly comes off as if he does not like for a better way to put it white people, he honestly spent more time screaming at paying customers then in the entire situation took to solve while we were completely drained from a 7 and 1/2 hour drive in funeral clothes the man basically berated us and told us multiple times that if we weren't going to leave a positive review that we needed to just get our s* and leave, at this point I felt worse for the receptionist who had done her job amazingly and should be praised by corporate of home studios because the work environment I witnessed is beyond astonishing, I will say this much the hotel holds a two-star rating for a reason there are multiple issues from wallpaper hanging off the wall to the toilets looking nasty, but we understood what to expect or at least we thought we did that was until the manager decided to make it clear that our business was not needed nor wanted, without zero apology after explaining the situation he stormed out of the front room all while the receptionist apologized for him doing her due diligence, we ended up staying at the hotel just because we were already booked in and everything was completely packed due to the trump rally and the alternative was sleeping in our cars, however after six cars pulled in with a baseball team of minors all packing cases of beer throwing a party at the hotel we honestly regret it even that however the hotel would not return our money 40 minutes after booking in, there was constant noise and chaos not to mention the entire hotel smelled like someone had not to mention the entire hotel smelled like someone had burnt a bag of popcorn from the second floor up and was repeatedly doing so from the time we got to our room to the time we left, the showers are basically a garden hose with zero pressure and multiple patrons clearly were there on weekly rooms to party and do drugs, as at least half of the patrons that I witnessed their we're definitely on something, the baseball player minors even out in the parking lot throwing baseballs and hitting them with bats right around cars with zero people from the hotel stating anything about potential damage to people's property, after going to the room I happen to read through the 100 plus comments that have been left for this hotel and realizing that the worst issue the owner has been reported to hometowne studios multiple...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at HomeTowne Studios & Suites Washington during my trip to Washington PA, and I must say, this hotel truly exceeded my expectations in every way. As someone who isn't from this state, I was a bit apprehensive about feeling out of place, but HomeTowne made me feel right at home from the moment I walked through the door. From the warm welcome at check-in to the friendly smiles from the staff throughout my stay, the hospitality here is unmatched. The ambiance of the hotel is inviting and comfortable, making it a perfect retreat after a long day of exploring the city. I encountered a couple of minor issues during my stay, but what impressed me the most was how promptly and efficiently the staff resolved them.
