Stayed: August 2 – August 5 Guests: 2 adults, 2 kids Purpose: Beach vacation Rating: 5 out of 5
Two days before our trip, the hotel called to confirm my reservation. They reviewed my booking, noticed the kids weren’t listed, and corrected it. That personal attention set the tone for the stay. Being able to pay on arrival was a bonus and made vacation planning easier.
Check-in was smooth, with a warm welcome and a clear explanation of everything the hotel offers. Our room was ready right on time including free parking with plenty of space out front.
The location is ideal. You just cross the street and you are on the beach. Even though they are still doing renovations from last year’s hurricane, you would never notice—everything looked excellent and well maintained.
The pool area was a highlight: 9 feet deep, spacious, with plenty of loungers under palm trees. The relaxed atmosphere made it easy to unwind. There’s also a BBQ area with seating for guests, and while we didn’t use it, it’s a great perk for longer stays. Working ice machine and vending machines onsite.
A big surprise was the free beach gear. Chairs and umbrellas are available; you simply sign them out. This made our beach days effortless.
Our renovated double-bed room came with a full kitchenette, stocked with glassware, cookware, utensils, toaster, and more. Beds were comfortable, the TV was large, and the Wi-Fi worked well. The bathroom was spotless.
Towel service was excellent, and the on-site washers and dryers were just $2 per use, with detergent included. The hotel even had pool toys for the kids, which they loved.
As a Canadian traveler, I value Florida for its warm hospitality and beach lifestyle. Finding a place like this—where amenities are plentiful and guests feel truly welcome—makes me want to return year after year. The attention to detail here made us feel at home while still giving us that perfect vacation vibe.
The staff were attentive throughout our stay, with daily turndown service and great communication. Stores and restaurants were just a short drive away, but the best part was knowing that perfect beach access was right across the street.
After three amazing days here, I can say this is one of the most comfortable and well-run hotels I’ve visited. If this is your first visit, you will not be disappointed.
See you in the near future, thank you for the...
Read moreI was extremely pleased with this hotel and will definitely return! Island House has a unique vibe, and it's impeccably clean. The first thing that struck me about the room (after its SIZE! Whew!) was how clean it was - somebody took extra care to clean everything. The carpet was immaculate. The bathroom was spotless and the towels were plentiful and of good quality. The A/C was very powerful, and this room came with a new flat screen T.V. and fully equipped kitchenette. The bed was gigantic and incredibly comfortable, with new "home-quality" sheets and new pillows. Granted, the appliances and furniture are obviously older but very CLEAN. Even down to the little coffee pot, which came with the right filters! Then there's the staff - every staff member I encountered was so friendly and immediately responsive to every request or inquiry. It was just true, old-fashioned hospitality all around from the staff. Our room faced the garden and the pool, which was a very nice aspect of this place. The garden here is lush and colorful, and the pool is large, clean and warm. There was an outdoor gas grill, and plenty of deck seating. I especially loved their outdoor shower - the nozzle poured from the vase of a Greek goddess statue! Best of all, this place is just across the street from one of the cleanest beach spots we saw on the island, and it was not too crowded even for a weekend. The location of this place is superbly convenient. My husband and I loved the price (under $90 per night at that time) - hotels in this area are extremely pricey and mostly high-rise "filing cabinets." My husband and I really dislike super-chain hotels and the condo-style places, both for the outrageous pricing and the overall vibe. So, this place was absolutely ideal for us. If you're looking for practical, friendly, clean and affordable lodging on Redington Beach, we HIGHLY recommend...
Read moreI was coming down for a race and wanted to stay close to the beach without breaking the bank. I had stayed at another hotel last year that was cheaper but much further inland. I searched high and low and was finally able to find this gem of a resort. The room was clean and the friendliness of the staff was unmatched. The room boasted two queen beds and a small kitchenette with a fridge, freezer, stove and microwave. Utensils, dish soap and glasses are provided for your use. They also provide shampoo and soap for the bathroom.||This resort is a smaller family-owned spot which makes the difference. At first glance, it may look like just an average motel along the strip by the beach that spring breakers would flock to just to have a place to crash. However, it was far from it! The area was not as congested as Treasure Island/St. Pete Beach further south, which made for a nice walk to one of the local establishments for a meal. There is also a Surf Style souvenir shop next door if one is looking to bring something home for the loved ones.||The pool seemed to be heated which was a definite plus. They offer free chairs, towels and umbrellas to take to the beach which is just the other side of the buildings across the street. Another plus! The public beach access is just a few minutes' walk from the resort, if even. They offer a grill to cook out if so desired, along with a tiki bar where you can bring your own drinks and relax at many of the seating areas outside of the pool. Several guests took advantage of this during my stay, yet they were civil and relaxed, far from rowdy partiers one could imagine during this time period. The pictures of the resort are true to form. I found they accurately portrayed the resort online. Yet another plus is their First Responders discount.||I definitely plan to stay here again when I'm...
