BEWARE: Thieves work here! We checked into this hotel late Friday 1/4/19 at around 11:15 PM, received our key to the room and left without going up to the room. We returned to the room and brought our bags up around 1:30 AM which is now Saturday 1/5/19 to go to sleep. At around 9:00 AM the maid service knocked in the door and asked if we wanted the room cleaned and we told her to come back later in the day. My husband and I got dressed to go out and just before we left the room, I gave him a gift that I had purchased for him, he opened it and threw the box and wrapping in the trash. He placed the gift itself (a bottle of Chanel cologne valued at $130) inside of a zipper pocket in our suitcase. Around 2:30 PM we walked down to the hotel front desk where Amy was the staff on duty. I told Amy that the maid service had come earlier but we did not have her clean the room, but we would at least need new towels placed in the room so that we could shower when we return. Amy stated that the girl in house keeping had to leave early to attend a funeral, but she would go and service our room herself as she get off at 3pm. I told her that would be awesome. So we leave and do not return to the room again until about 12:30 AM which is now Sunday 1/6/19 to sleep. Check out is at 11AM so we get up and get dressed to leave. My husband looks in the suitcase to get the cologne and it is nowhere to be found. We look everywhere, took every thing out, nothing. So we go downstairs and I talk to Amy who is now on duty again. I ask her who serviced our room yesterday and she stated that she did. I asked her if anyone else had access to the room other than her and she said no. I then told her about our missing item and asked her to call mangement. Three times I stand there and watch her pretend to dial a number but the phone had no dial tone. I told her that I was not leaving without speaking to a manger and she finally called the GM Debra. I voiced my complaint to Debra and demanded that they investigate which she stated that they would review the cameras and check the card reader to see who accessed our room. Debra said that she would follow up with me the next day. I spoke with Debra on Monday and she confirmed that the only person seen entering our room other than us was Amy during the exact time frames that I provided for her. She then stated that the owner would be arriving and he would review the video as well and they would call me back. I have called and not received any return calls from either of them. The betrayal of public trust is unacceptable and allowing employees to steal from customers is a bad look for the Best Western brand! Do not stay at this location. If and when maneagenent steps up and does the right thing, I will update this post. I waited in good faith to see if they would do the right thing, but they did not! Read morePOOL GREEN & CLOSED DUE TO MANAGEMENT FAILURE TO KEEP CHEMICAL UP TO PASSING STANDARDS FOR GUESTS TO BE ABLE TO SWIM!||I picked this hotel #1 for the pool. #2 for cost and location, right off the I10. ||We arrived at 3pm and I asked if there was something wrong with the pool, since it was green. Front dest told me they had an inspection and the pool did not pass. So, it would be closed. until 5pm. I was then told my an employee that the pool is "seasonable" and can be closed for any reason. Ummmm....my response was that it was June and summertime, why in the world would I even fathom the pool being closed right now. If you are going to make an excuse for something, at least have it make some kind of common sense. Poor employee training. The reason the pool closed is because it failed a chemical test, which management should have been well aware in advance. This is not a new thing, to have a hotel pool that needs to be tested and up to par DAILY. I will chalk this up to EXTREMEMLY uneducated, poor, management. ||I explained we drove 8 hrs and the main reason for picking this hotel was for the pool so that when we arrived we could unwind and relax. I have two children that needed to release some driving energy. We could have stayed anywhere on the I10 on our way to San Antonio. I called earlier to check on my reservation and they did not mention the pool was closed. I was told that I could cancel my reservation. ||So, that is their solution. I just drove over 8 hrs, pool is green and closed, I should now get back in my vehicle and find a new hotel to stay. |||We checked the pool at 8 pm, still green. Woke up the next morning and kids could not swim before we left because it is still green. ||The room was decent enough. The bathroom itself was clean. The shower was in bad shape. There were several large cracks in the tiling where you could see someone hit the wall pretty hard and cracked it. Definitely needed some updating. ||I will NEVER stay at this hotel or another Best Western again. Read moreI really loved my time here! The hotel was great and the king size bed was to die for. The staff was super friendly and went above and beyond to help me with everything. (even getting me a spoon from their break room for our ice cream) The had a friendly environment and my brother was drooling over the fact that their work out room had free weights. The only reason they aren't getting a full 5 stars was the TV remote was broken and didn't work so we were not able to watch TV the whole time we were there unless it was the channel it was on when we walked in the room. (meaning even the cleaning staff couldn't get the TV or purposely left it on.) and our shower was beautiful but took 20 min to heat up and the cleaner they used on the floor left it very slippery. We had to spray down the shower to be able to use it and had to set an alarm to get up early to get the water going so that it was ready for when our normal alarms would go off. The water pressure in our room was also very very low. I had a hard time getting the shampoo out of my hair. I addressed these issues with the check out staff and they expressed sincere apologies and immediately worked to make sure that the next guest in my room would not see the same issues.
