Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ozona by IHG — Hotel in Ozona

I had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Ozona, TX, in October 2024 for my 20-year high school reunion, and I was absolutely delighted by the experience. I don’t visit Ozona often, so I had never stayed at this hotel before, but I was so pleasantly surprised by how wonderful my stay was.

Even in a small town, this hotel felt like a bit of a luxury getaway. The room was not only clean and fresh-smelling but also had a huge bathtub that was perfect for relaxing. The entire space was so comfortable and well-maintained, making it feel like a home away from home.

The staff at this Holiday Inn Express was truly exceptional. Despite the busy weekend, they accommodated all our requests with a warm and welcoming attitude. My family and I were in and out several times each day, and every time we returned, we were greeted with a smile. It really had that lovely small-town feel that made us feel like part of the community.

One of the highlights of our stay was the continental breakfast. Honestly, it was one of the best we’ve ever had, and we’ve stayed in many hotels. My girls and husband were excited to go to breakfast every morning, and the lady who runs the breakfast was so sweet and friendly, adding an extra touch of warmth to our stay.

The room stayed perfectly cool, and I was pleased that the hot water never ran out, making for a relaxing shower after a long day. The beds were incredibly comfortable as well, ensuring that we all had restful nights.

All in all, this stay exceeded my expectations in every way, and I would definitely recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Ozona to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing, and welcoming...

Good

They accommodated a room move and the room and bathroom were clean. The WiFi and ethernet worked well. Breakfast items were good and a few times the time early morning coffee in the breakfast area was hot.

Bad

The table for pc use is right next to the a/c unit. I had to slide the table away from the a/c wall to squeeze a chair at the side of the table so I would not have to sit right in the cold, blowing air. This is poor room arrangement. The table is way too small and I had to use a room chair that was uncomfortably too low for proper use. Why doesn’t the hotel have a chair that can be adjusted to proper height? The bathtub has only one vertical grab bar. Why is there not a horizontal grab bar? If there is a microwave in the breakfast area to heat items, I could not find it. It must be sandwiched between other items and not prominently displayed. Most of the mornings, the early morning coffee is just barely warm. On Sunday, Sept. 16, breakfast was a disaster. There was no early morning hot coffee. The lady at the front desk said “Oh my,” but she did not know how to operate the coffee maker. The person that was supposed to be there to prepare the breakfast items did not show up. The only items available were cold cereals, breads, and muffins. I found out later that the hotel had to call in three people to get the breakfast prepared. Why didn’t the hotel have in place a person to call in at once if the scheduled person did...

I was hesitant to book at this hotel because our experience with older HIEX hotels is spotty. What a pleasant surprise this was! From the time we walked in the door to the time we checked out our experience here was excellent!

This property has been remodeled fairly recently and the work was done well so although not "new" it was very close to that. It was very clean and the beds were quite comfortable. It's near the freeway so there was some road noise early in the evening but that quieted down during the night and we slept well. Most notable was the staff. Everyone from the front desk person to the kitchen staff was VERY friendly and helpfu,l. We received a friendly welcome and were given good restaurant recommendations by the front desk staff. When we came down for breakfast in the morning the staff was there refilling the food, clearing and cleaning tables and helping us locate what we needed. The food was hot and fresh.

Although I didn't bring my workout clothes on this holiday trip when I peeked into the workout room I wished I had. It had a nice assortment of machines and looked clean and inviting.

This was our favorite hotel during our trip to visit family and we will make a point to stay here in the future. Kudos to the management and all the staff for making our stay a very enjoyable one! "Exceeding expectations" is an overused phrase these days, but in the case of our experience at this hotel it applies...
