This place is the absolute WORST Hotel/motel That my family and I have EVER stayed at. We live 4 1/2 hours away from Park Falls. My husband, our three yr old, eight month old, and myself checked in around 7:30pm Saturday night; first thing is that we have two young children to carry plus everyone’s luggage so We asked for a room by the entrance and close to pool, and instead was given the furthest room from that! We entered room 227, and first thing we noticed was the DISGUSTING SMELL! It was overwhelming! My three year old started to use the bathroom in the room and that’s when we realized the toilet in there was plugged and over flowing onto the floor! We called the front desk right away and the woman working said, “we don’t have a plunger so just come down to room 104.” Packed up our kids and things, walked all the way back to room 104 (right next to entrance and pool, so don’t see why we couldn’t have been checked in that room in the first place.) We told ourselves it’ll be fine, this room will be nice and clean unlike the first. We were definitely wrong!! There was tiny black hairs all over shower, toilet, and even the bedding!! Room smelled musty, and wasn’t even close to being clean! The window was broken like someone tried to break in or something, and the floor had cereal & food under the beds, and under the dressers.
We have stayed at some low star motels/hotels during our travels but this one is BY FAR THE ABSOLUTE WORST!! Plus, to top it all off they charged our bank TWICE because of switching rooms, we also asked for our money back considering the horrible stay we had, the man who answered the phone said yes, and then another lady called back saying that we will not be getting our money back, and that we actually owe more money! These people who are employed there have zero clue on what they’re doing, and how to treat their customers!!!
I will NOT RECOMMEND staying here...
Read moreMy family and I were up for a family event and chose to stay at this location because of the pool for the kids. At check in we were told that the pool was down for cleaning. Six days earlier when we made the reservation we were not warned about such an occurrence. As the room was still reserved we chose to stay. The rooms were dated and in need of repair but it was dry. The morning continental breakfast was lacking but the real deal breaker was milk that was four days past expiration! At check out I asked the receptionist for a discount because of the pool being down. The pool was the main thrust for us to stay. The receptionist said she couldn’t do anything but she would let Luann know and she would contact me Monday. Monday came and nothing. I called and she wasn’t in and they had no idea when she would be in. The receptionist suggested I call her at her other job at first national bank. I waited until Wednesday and called the hotel once again Luann was gone with no idea when she would be in. I explained my disappointment to the receptionist hoping she would be able to assist me. Nothing so I brought up the expired milk. Her response was you can drink milk up to a week past the expiration date and it was no big deal. I wonder if the county health department would feel the same way? The receptionist became short, rude, and snippy stating there was nothing that they would be able to do. My suggestion would be for you to look at other local hotels...
Read moreWe booked a room here because it's our local hotel. The reason for this was we were getting married and my wife wanted to stay there the night before our big day to get ready and not have me see her. We asked months in advance if we could have a late checkout by 1 hour so she could get picked up in a limo at the time of the wedding. We got told that's no problem, they would put her in a room that no one is checking into the day after. The DAY OF CHECK IN, we get told that if she stays a minute past checkout time, she is being charged another whole night. When getting into her room, there were hairs on the sink like someone shaved and it wasn't cleaned. There were a bunch of little hairs on the towels like they just weren't washed good enough.
For a hotel that we have supported for the last 10+ years, I expected better. Not only have we supported this hotel, we have supported the restaurant that it is attached to. And by support, I mean years of gym membership, referring EVERYONE who needs a hotel to them and ordering food almost weekly. We know everyone there and they know us. I wish this would have been handled better but instead, we were told, "One minute after 12:30 and you'll be charged.". It really makes our special day even...
