UNWASHED SHEETS - HAIR AND MAKEUP ON THE PILLOW. BROKEN WINDOW. I booked this hotel at 8pm last night. They clearly didn't think someone was going to book a room after a certain time and didn't bother to clean anything. I arrived about an hour later and checked in with a gruff, rude man through a plastic screen.
The first room they gave me had CIGARETTE BURNS, DIRT, STAINS, and MAKEUP on the top sheet. Underneath, there was a HAIR placed neatly on the pillow. They clearly didn't have time or care to clean the room, so they pulled the top sheet back over the dirty sheet. The window was also stuck open and it was on the first floor.
I walked back to the window and asked the man if they'd cleaned the room. He sighed like he had gotten that complaint a lot or knew I was going to complain. He gave me deadpan look and said, "Ok - do you want a refund or another room?". It was 9pm in Pasadena and there were no other rooms. Even though I was disgusted, I asked to see another room.
He walked me to a second room and stood in the doorway. He watched as I pulled back the sheets to see a CLEARLY USED PILLOW with MAKEUP and an EYELASH smeared on top. The sheets were wrinkled and clearly used. Again, he had very clearly just pulled a sheet over the used sheets.
I pointed to the dirt on the pillow and he rolled his eyes at me. He he would give me a refund and I'm free to stay somewhere else. He walked away from me and left me in the room. I walked back to the window and asked if he gave me a refund. He said he contacted Agoda and refunded me. I told him that I didn't book through Agoda. He looked back on his computer and said okay I approved your refund.
I am a woman in my 20s and I was alone. The entire walkway was dark and it was just that man and another standing behind the counter. The hotel is on the side of a highway and I got a bit uncomfortable by the way the man was glaring at me. I left without fighting him anymore on it.
Do not stay here. Maybe they'll clean the room if they have time,...

I had plans to go to the Rose Bowl for the UCLA / Oregon football game and didn't want to drive home after drinking. I arrived around 10:45 am and asked if I can get an early check-in. The person I spoke to first said that he could check me in now but the room won't be available until later (check-in is 2 pm). He then double checked the room inventory and said a room would be available in 15 mins or so. He pointed to a simple table and chair for me to wait. In about 15 mins, he said that the room was ready. The room was small but looked clean and I can smell a little of the disinfectant since just cleaned. Room looked recently remodeled as the painted walls looked very new. Spartan furnishings. ||Tables and counters looked pretty new also. I didn't notice any damage. Bathroom too looked newly painted and tub, sink, and fixtures looked new. Below the sink counter is not covered so you can see the pipes. Water pressure and hot water availability was on point. A small refrigerator was provided. No safe. A nice feature of the room is the large TV (for the size of the room) with a very large selection of channels for most everyone's tastes, including multiple HBO channels. WiFi password is revealed when you turn on the TV. WiFi was satisfactory. ||THE BiG THING OFF WITH MY ROOM WAS THAT THERE WAS NO MIRROR. Not an issue for me because I always bring a double-sided hand mirror. ALSO, the front door is not properly insulated or flush with the opening. I can see little cracks between door and opening when door was closed. I tried the heater but it didn't appear to blow warm or hot air. Maybe it needs to run for a bit. It wasn't cold enough for a heater or warm enough for A/C when I was there. Major plus for me for this motel was the helpfulness of the staff. Will definitely...
