I decided to run off for two days and ended up at this Inn. I am part of the Choice Hotels users, so I tried to stay within that chain. I forgot to bring my shampoo/conditioner. Conditioning shampoo was provided, but I needed conditioner to get the tangles out of my hair. I asked Sid the manager for some, and he was able to rustle up a couple bottles for me. Perfect! From where I parked, I could not see the ice machine and snacks/drinks machine are in the parking lot. Ice is 25 cents. I asked another patron in the hallway, and he told me where the machine was. All I wanted was some cold water, so I filled the ice bucket with water and put it in the refrigerator. Problem solved. I read somewhere that they practiced ecological sustainability, so I didn't expect to have my room cleaned the first day. Make sure you tell Sid or Kim if you don't want your room cleaned. Those two were both friendly and happy to help. I have read some reviews that say patrons do not feel their cars are safe. I had no problem with the area. Two things I would recommend if you needed to feel better, 1. Open your glove compartment, pull out the stuff in it and leave it empty and open. If you have a light that goes on, use a piece of duct tape to keep the light off. 2. If you have a hatch back, take the cover off or lift it up so if someone was to look inside with a flashlight, they can see nothing is in the trunk. If you have back seats that can pull forward, do so and show that the trunk is empty. I do not sleep well so I was looking out the window at different times through the night and didn't see anything or anybody strange happening outside. Speaking of sleep, some reviews have mentioned that the beds are soft. They use memory foam beds! That is why they are so soft. Yes, if you sleep on the side of the bed that is closest to the side table, that is where people usually sit and so it will be well used on that side. I sleep on a firm mattress, so these beds were a little tough for me, but still comfortable if I slept on my back. I booked this hotel room at 3pm. When I was looking at the corporate website later in the evening, about 7pm, I noticed that the room price had dropped. There's and FYI for ya! There is a Denny's three blocks down the street that you can walk to. I had no problem with the WiFi using both my phone and laptop. Overall, it was a good stay. UPDATE: Since I first stayed here 2 years ago this (July 2025) is the third time I have stayed here. All the rooms have been upgraded and are looking great. The bed was comfortable and not too soft. I believe the whole property has been upgraded and painted. Definitely give this...
Read moreUpon arrival we checked in and asked for a luggage rack to help with taking the suitcase up to the rooms. I was told they don't have them. We had to end up making several trips back and forth to unload- I would suggest they buy a few luggage carts for their guest to use. We had to leave after dropping off our luggage to a wedding rehearsals so didn't get back to room until after 6 pm. The parking is terrible if you have a larger SUV or Truck. The spaces are so small it took a long time trying to squeeze my truck into a spot which I wasn't able to pull all the way back as I wouldn't of been able to get out my door. Then once in the room, we were looking for body wash or standard soap. I went to call using the room phone and it was dead, no connection. So I had to go downstairs to the check in window and the young kid there looks confused when I asked for soap. He said he would be up in 5 minutes. We waited about 30 minutes.. no soap, so I called the hotel using my cell and he answered and again I asked for the body wash and he said they were trying to get some. In short, we never received any soap and had to go buy some ourselves. I never heard of a hotel with no bar soap or body wash..very odd. Also the room we had the toilet was leaking so we had to change rooms. Later the manager said it wasn't leaking but my wife and I saw it and I should have taken a video of it. Regardless we moved to another room. The beds are horrible - they must be old as they are not firm at all and you sink down in the mattress which isn't good for your back, pillows were hard - I think there are a lot of people using vouchers to live there too. Several homeless in the area too. Not having been in the area before I went off the pictures. In closing I will say the manager was very nice but I feel they are cutting corners to save money. Oh, and the TP is so thin you better be careful when using. I don't plan on staying here again. I'm surprised they are a choice hotel as most of the choice hotels we have stayed at have...
Read moreThis is my first time staying at this hotel and let me tell you. It has been nothing short of amazing! They have accommodated me since my son and I have gotten here. Im picky about hotels because my son is autistic. He even said himself "this room is very clean, and he volunteered to take a shower". If you know about autism you know how much of good news that is! The owners has helped me get the type of room I needed twice, I lost my keys and he found them and brought them to me, my son locked us out the room by locking my key inside the room. He came promptly and respectfully and came and unlocked our door, saving us AGAIN! My mind is everywhere dealing with my son as a single parent. Towards the end of my stay I wasn't pleased because I had asked 2 days before my checkout day if I good extend my day for 3 extra days. The owners family member at the front desk told me a certain price. I said I'll just wait until the original owner comes back and talk to him about extending my stay instead. The next day the owner was there and offered me another discount which I was very happy about and he told me to come back the next day I'm supposed to check out to extend my stay. I came down the next day and he charged me a pretty high rate AFTER he told me the day before a price already. His family member gave me one price, the owner told me a lower price, and then charged me the highest price! I understand he accommodated me and my son the whole stay, and I appreciate that...but I don't appreciate the lying AFTER I was told 2 different prices, and then he acted as if he didn't remember to give me my deposit back. It's like they were nice to us and they always say "just leave us a good review"...after you leave them a good review WHILE you're still staying there, they read it to make sure you left a good review about them. They respond to the review saying "Thank you" then do you dirty and wrong. As long as you leave them a good review they don't care about your well being. More than likely I...
