Latest trip and was amazing again. Their service and food does set them apart. The broth tastes like soup and not watered down like other places, which is nice. Quality of meat is wonderful as well and the service is always spot on. Allows us to add the spicy drops to our own liking again, not like other places who treat it like liquid gold or something. Always spot on with more sauces and condiments as well. Obviously, will be back again and again.
So they keep surprising me in a good way every time we go. Whether it’s the service, food or both. We stopped by for outdoor dining to find out they only had takeout or delivery today (Tuesday’s). We were pretty hungry and don’t live close by so we ordered from the take out menu options, pre-cooked.
It was amazing. Same great food, but pre-cooked. They happened to recognize us and know we love the spicy drops, pickles, and Goma sauce and it was already packed for us in the bag.
Yes, we were hungry but everything tasted sooooo great. The new item for me was the spicy tomato. Never tried it before and happy I did. Didn’t really taste like I expected and certainly not like an American version of tomato soup. Had a slight tomato taste mixed in with a beef broth base with some spice as a kicker. Amazing.
We ordered some extra meat and veggies in case the $10.95 pre-cooked bowl wasn’t enough, but have to say it was plenty. Very happy to have some leftovers for tomorrow though.
Will be back soon for both dine in and take out options very very soon! Thanks O’seyo!!!

One of the best Shabu spots for food and service. Really nice take out specials as well. Can’t wait to go back.
Just adding a few pics from the last visit. All was awesome again and take out specials seem pretty good. Will have to try them.
Update 1/4/22
Obviously one of our regular spots. Took a little break due to Covid and having a new furry member of the family. Only wish they were pet friendly, but we get it.
Food and service is always great and happy they have most of their specials and menu items on the menu. Feast for two is a great deal, especially if you go with the sake :) Beef for my GF and lamb for me, with soft crab app and churro for...
Read more10/10 always! Honestly, I’m usually not a huge fan of shabu shabu because I often find it a bit too bland. But ever since I tried O’seyo, my husband and I keep coming back again and again! Their broth and high-quality, healthy cuts of beef are absolutely irresistible. Truly a hidden gem in Pasadena! ✨ Atmosphere & Service The place is super clean, cozy, and welcoming. Parking is easy, and the staff always greet you with warm smiles. They constantly check in to make sure you’re taken care of, and they’re more than happy to switch your broth if you’re not satisfied. ✨ Must-Try Recommendations 🥩 Vintage Prime Beef – beautiful marbling, melts in your mouth! 🍲 Tomato broth – my #1 pick! The Spicy Miso broth isn’t really spicy but has a mild, savory taste. 🍹 Happy Hour deals – great value!
The beef here is truly special – no matter which cut you order, it stays tender and juicy even after a few minutes in the pot. The broth is flavorful enough on its own, but dipping sauces take it to the next level. I especially loved the sesame sauce with crushed sesame seeds on top – so fragrant! ✨ Great for everyone This spot is perfect for date nights, small gatherings, or even dining solo (I saw several people enjoying hotpot on their own). They also have lunch specials and weekday deals that are very affordable. ✨ Our Favorites (ranked) 🥩 Australian Lamb 🥩 Certified All Natural Vintage Prime Rib Eye 🥩 Certified All Natural Angus Prime Beef 🥩 Certified All Natural Choice Rib Eye 🍓 For dessert: Strawberry Mochi ice cream – the perfect sweet ending! ✨ Broth Ranking: Tomato Spicy Miso Spicy Tomato. I personally didn’t like Konbu (too plain) and Sukiyaki (too sweet), but the staff happily switched broths when I asked. Overall, one of the BEST shabu shabu spots in LA. Affordable, consistent, and always an amazing experience! Highly...
Read moreWent to check out Oseyo in Pasadena over the weekend and had such a great experience! Super satisfying and definitely a spot I’d recommend for shabu shabu lovers.
Ordering is simple – each set comes with broth, a veggie platter, udon, and rice. We chose the kombu broth, which was light and perfect for highlighting the meat. The dipping sauces were Ponzu (refreshing and tangy) and Goma (nutty, sesame-peanut flavor) – both were great and not heavy at all. I also really liked that they use a full-sized hotpot instead of those tiny individual ones, makes it feel much more like a real hotpot meal.
For meats: • The Certified All Natural Angus Prime Beef with fish cake and Australian lamb – lamb was tender without any gaminess, and the fish cake soaked up the broth really well. • The Certified All Natural Vintage Prime Rib Eye plus an extra Choice Rib Eye – rich marbling, super flavorful, very satisfying!
We also got two appetizers: Garlic Edamame (so addictive!) and Takoyaki (crispy outside, with bits of octopus inside – best when eaten hot).
The staff were really friendly and attentive. By lunchtime the place was nearly full, so there’s definitely a nice lively vibe. Overall, the ingredients were fresh, the service was great, and finishing the meal with udon noodles in the broth was the...
