Title: A Relaxing Retreat at Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix, Arizona Rating: ★★★★☆ I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix, Arizona, and overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Here's a neutral review of my stay: Accommodation: The accommodations at the Legacy Golf Resort were comfortable and well-maintained. The rooms were spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. The bed was cozy, ensuring a good night's sleep. The amenities provided, including a mini-fridge and a coffee maker, were convenient and added to the overall comfort of the stay. However, some areas of the resort showed signs of aging and could benefit from some updates. Location: The location of the Legacy Golf Resort was excellent for golf enthusiasts. Situated amidst beautifully landscaped grounds, the resort offered picturesque views and a serene atmosphere. The proximity to the golf course was a major advantage for those looking to indulge in a round or two. However, for those interested in exploring other attractions in Phoenix, the resort was a bit far from the city center, requiring a car or transportation to get around. Facilities: The resort's facilities were extensive and catered well to guests. The highlight, of course, was the golf course itself, which was well-maintained and provided an enjoyable golfing experience. The pool area was clean and offered a relaxing place to unwind. Additionally, the fitness center was well-equipped for those wanting to stay active during their stay. However, it would have been nice to see more dining options available within the resort itself, as the choices were limited. Service: The staff at Legacy Golf Resort were friendly and attentive, making sure that guests felt welcome and their needs were met. The check-in and check-out processes were smooth, and any requests or inquiries were handled promptly. The housekeeping staff did a commendable job of keeping the rooms tidy. However, some guests reported inconsistencies in service quality, with occasional delays in response times. Overall Experience: Staying at the Legacy Golf Resort was a pleasant experience. The peaceful ambiance, well-appointed accommodations, and the opportunity to play golf on a beautiful course made for a relaxing retreat. The resort's facilities were generally satisfactory, although a few areas could benefit from improvements. The staff's friendly and attentive demeanor added to the overall positive experience. However, for those seeking a more bustling city experience, the resort's location might be a bit remote. In conclusion, the Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix, Arizona, offers a serene getaway for golf enthusiasts with comfortable accommodations, excellent facilities, and friendly service. While there are some areas that could be improved upon, overall, it provides a pleasant stay for those looking to enjoy golf and relaxation in a tranquil setting.

Large resort not far from the airport. Convenient to plenty of stores on Baseline Rd (turn right). The unit was nice, spacious and clean. Cute cozy patio. Kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, dishes and utensils. Hated that they only had one large skillet. The bathroom was dated (old orange marble tile). The shower smelled horribly. When reported, they handled immediately by unclogging the drain and the smell went away. It was started to return the day before we left. The A/C unit in the bathroom ceiling rattled the metal ceiling panels. Was able to sleep by closing the bathroom door at night (noise and smell). Other than the bathroom, it felt quite homey. We stayed a week and had 1 mid-week cleaning. They only put a couple days worth of coffee supplies, so if you're staying longer, ask for more instead of buying 100 filters at the store. The dish soap they provide is not worth 2 cents. Had to go get some Dawn! (Lol) The walls are THIN, so be warned! The resort lacked extensive "planned" activities (only saw movie nights by the pool), but they have a small playground, tennis courts, basketball court, shuffleboard, pool, grills and of course - golf. They offered to provide a ride to the pool. Basic hotel-like gym (cardio machines- treadmill, stair-climber, bikes, dumbbells, a couple adjustable benches and a combo machine. Rooms had nice, large tvs with decent channel selection - NOT SMART TVs, so I couldn't stream with existing accounts like Netflix, etc. Stacked washer & dryer in kitchen. Washer was a bit noisy but worked fine. Safe in bed closet. Plenty of complimentary toiletries. Anything I requested, the staff were very responsive and professional. P.S. The Farm (farm to table) nearby is unique and fun place to visit and eat.

This was a vacation trip for my husband and I as we celebrated our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, I am unable to upload the videos my husband recorded of this resort having roaches! We checked in on Friday 12-8-23. In the wee hours of the morning my husband used the bathroom in our room and noticed 3 roaches crawling around in our bathroom! I was able to take pictures of one of them and whatever creature was on the ceiling. I immediately called the front desk and explained the issue and personnel gave me an attitude and asked me “how big the roaches were” as if any of that mattered. After packing all of our belongings to get another room, personnel tried to give us an empty room right next door to where we originally were at. After declining she mocked “you’re gonna have to wait”. Once we were allowed a completely different room, she told my husband the resort is having a sewage problem- which I believe she was trying to soften the insults or the poor communication we received yet provide a piss poor excuse as to why this resort had roaches! As we were unloading our luggage into our new room, the security guard came around and said to us “this hotel isn’t the greatest, I don’t even know why you guys picked this hotel”!! If I were you and you want to vacation at this resort be very mindful of staying in building “6”. Rooms are very dirty upon entry, rust on all vents, lots of stains on walls; its disgusting! And when we called inquiring about housekeeping there is a $95.00 charge to have someone clean it. It’s probably safer if you vacation somewhere else. Hope this helps future readers!

Legacy redeemed themselves! My last visit 4/7/23-4/11/23 went fantastically well! Mind you this was Easter weekend. The check in was quick and efficient. Everything worked as it should. The room was clean and cool. I booked the day of because the proximity of the place to my parent’s house is only like 5 minutes. The text message check-out was easy. I’m so happy that this stay went so well. We even enjoyed the hot tub each night! I will return again to the Legacy Resort.

Original Review Below

Let me tell you about my nightmare experience at the Legacy Golf Resort.

My family and I stayed from June 17th-23rd. The property itself is beautiful and the kids kept fawning over the fact that it made them feel like they were in the movie Encanto (we live in Alaska so the idea of staying in a Casita was awesome).

6/17 The Check-in: Lengthy process. Sharla covered everything from the property amenities to all the proper numbers to call if I needed anything. One thing that was not covered was any billing information. However, since I booked online, I figured they would send me an email of charges, wrong! I checked my credit card and the total amount of the hotel stay plus a $300 deposit had been charged. Which was fine but they should’ve reviewed that too and sent me an invoice.

6/17 Hot Water issues: I booked connecting suites (rooms 5201 and 5202). Child #1 took a shower for 7 minutes on the 5201 side and then the water ran cold. We had child #2 shower at 5202 and that water was freezing too! Turns out the casitas shared a water heater. I called the Maintenance Line at 10:30pm (which is the same number for Guest Services, Housekeeping, etc.) and no one answered so yes, me and my partner had to take a cold shower too.

6/18 Hot Water fixed: I called Maintenance in the morning and this time they answered and sent someone to repair. He came within an hour and fixed the pressure and heat. I tested both showers and then tipped the maintenance man.

6/20 Front Desk Calls: A man at the front desk called me and said I needed to come to the front desk and pay them. I was appalled because I knew they had charged my card. He transferred me to a woman in accounting that insisted I had not paid them and that my card was declining (they were trying to double bill me). She said that she would need to speak to my bank to verify the charges. We 3-wayed my bank and the bank customer representative confirmed that I had been charged and gave her the authorization codes. The accountant vaguely apologized.

6/22 Check-out Reminder: I get a text reminding me to check-out via text on 6/23.

6/23 Check-out: I text the number as instructed at 3:30am informing them of my check-out. I did not receive any communication back, so I texted them again at 9:45am. They promptly reply and say they had checked me out. Yet again no final invoice or anything was sent to my email, but I did get an email asking me to write a review. So hopefully management sees this and makes some communication changes and hopefully I get my deposit back without having to jump too many hoops.

I really want to love this place because it’s 5 minutes away from my parents house and I visit at least twice a year but this whole experience has left a bad taste...

First the good: The resort is beautiful and it's really nice to have a large balcony to sit out in the sun. They provide plenty of towels and nice clean sheets and comfortable bed. The kitchenette is nicely appointed with a nice assortment of dishes, glasses, pots and pans and a dishwasher and detergent are provided. There is also a washer and dryer in the unit. The pool area is really nice although the pool is not very large. The golf course was well maintained. Now the bad: When we got into our room, we immediately noticed that the kitchenette did not look very clean. We also noticed that the small table in the sitting room did not look like it had been wiped down. Upon further inspection we found that the refrigerator had not been cleaned AT ALL. There were even sodas left in it and food spills on the shelves. The outside of the refrigerator had food spills down the front and gunk built up along the top where the handle is. We didn't even want to touch the refrigerator let alone use it without a thorough cleaning. Then we noticed that there were crumbs, including cheerios, all over the carpet throughout the unit. I went to call the front desk and couldn't because the phone wasn't working (I later figured out that it was not plugged in). We decided to just clean the unit ourselves as best we could with the limited supplies (carpet sweeper, paper towels, dish soap). I used a wet paper towel to clean the hard surface floors and the towel came away black. YUCK! Every table needed to be wiped down. The next issue we had was a very loud humming noise that started that evening. Felt like the walls were vibrating. We also found that the remote for the TV was not working but that was an easy fix, one of the batteries was reversed, but the remote was not in a clear plastic sleeve like you see in most hotel these days and probably was not cleaned either. We stopped at the front desk the next day to complain and although she did ask if we wanted someone to come clean the room no other attempt to make things right were offered, like moving us to another room, offering an upgrade or credit, getting the manager, etc. The most she did was send maintenance to check out the noise and when he arrived he told us it's just the HVAC that runs next to all the center rooms in each building and the only way to get away from the noise is get an outside 1 bedroom unit. Oh, and another thing, Expedia said I was supposed to get a room upgrade for being an Expedia VIP, which I did not get. Not sure if that was Expedia's fault or the resort. The last thing I will complain about is the pool reservation system. Instead of just limiting capacity and having it first come first serve you have to reserve 2-3 hour time slots at the pool the day before. So we signed up for one day and that was okay but then the two days later we signed up for 1-4 pm, showed up just after 1, then at 2:30 were told that the pool was closing at 3. I told her we had signed up for 1-4 and she told us they changed the time to 12:30-3pm. We had not been informed. None of the other guests near us knew that the time had been changed either. Would I stay here again? Probably not, but I might golf here again if...
