The Catus Dr. ,Adam Vickers, was originally referred to me by Master Gardeners from the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension. The Catus Dr has a college degree in the field. He has provided me with advice and services on the proper care and preservation of saguaros and other native plants. I'm immensely grateful to Adam Vickers, a.k.a The Cactus Dr, for he prevented unnecessary removal of Saguaros, arranged a move of a Saguaro, and has supplied and planted mature Ocotillo in my HOA. He regularly answers my questions/concerns on proper care of AZ iconic plants. I trust his knowledge. In 2018 Saguaros in our HOA began to collapse. I wanted to know how I might act to prevent the collapse as the drought years continued in AZ. I looked out my windows at a garden that has been a testament to Arizona's natural beauty for over 40 years. See photo. In 2018 The Catus Dr prevented the removal of a saguaro by the HOA maintenance crew: I asked for 24hrs to hire a professional to assess the plant. Adam Vickers arrived the next day. He advised how to determine if that saguaro was moving and explained the crack was common for saguaro. It was not oozing black fluid to suggest bacterial narcosis infection which can lead to death. He also recommended these established Saguaros, which had no irrigation, be watered every few weeks in AZ summer heat. He warned against overwatering. Thanks to his advice, cherished Saguaros still grace our community eight years later. Also pictured is a spear that was moved from a residence yard to a common element. Care was taken to orient in same direction of original location and soil treated. Proper watering recommendation was given by the movers provided by the Cactus Dr.

Absolutely rude customer service… Have a beautiful older saguaro that is slowly dropping… Had absolutely no advice no service , would not even advise for help! I would not recommend! Absolutely rude customer service… Have a beautiful saguaro that is slowly dropping… people come by to take pictures of my saguaro and my Ocotillo, and was only looking for help… I had absolutely no advice and no service. They would not even advise for help! I would not recommend them to anyone! Obviously, she’s too busy to help. Anyone basically was pushed off the phone Have a house in Mesa and N Scottsdale with many neighbors needing help will not recommend them to anyone, multiple million dollar homes up in North Scottsdale needing help but I will not recommend Cactus Dr., unless someone can call me and rectified this! It is heartbreaking. I’m losing a beautiful saguaro that we’ve taken care of for so many years… I have an Ocotillo that is so huge people drive by just to take pictures of Her wish I could save my saguaro but obviously this company won’t help!! So sad so disappointed

I called The Cactus Doctor to have an expert come determine the health of the Saguaros at a home I recently purchased. Relee, the founder, arrived on time. We walked my property as he explained the signs of a healthy Saguaro vs an unhealthy one. He taught me how to differentiate between a "native" (meaning it germinated and grew in-place) versus a transplant. He discussed the issues and risks of watering your saguaro and explained the importance of NOT watering your saguaro (as they get a majority of their water from the nighttime dew). Finally, he gave me specific instructions on how to care for my saguaros going forward-- which I will definitely be implementing. I feel very fortunate to have had to opportunity to learn from Relee. While he is technically retired, and only does consulting work for The Cactus Doctor, I am confident the remainder of the team at The Cactus Doctor have been well trained/educated by Relee and will refer clients to TCD and call them for my own future...
