This was a pretty scary experience if I am being honest.||My fiancé and I got stuck in Phoenix for a night due to flight cancellations, and needed a quick place to stay. We found this place online, it looked clean, was close to the airport and wasn't overly expensive, so we went for it.||||We got there, and it was ok for what we paid, and at this point we just wanted a bed. Looking around it was a tad unsettling, there were posters of missing kids on the glass and information regarding human trafficking all over the place, and they had some young girl working all alone in the dead of night. Already pretty on edge, tired, and stressed out we went to our assigned room. As we were falling asleep the people in the room next to us were being really loud, but we ignored it because it was late and we had to be up at 4am to catch our flight home. Around 3am there was loud banging and a lot of screaming, we again chose to stay quiet as we were in a new place and didn't really know what else to do. About 35 minutes later we were woken up by someone attempting to get into our room, and banging on our windows, it was extremely scary. My fiancé was going to go outside, but I didn't want to get involved or have something happened so we decided it was best to just get up and start packing to gtfo of here. In the next room there was some form of domestic dispute taking place (at least we think it was a couple, I am really not sure). There was things being thrown, a woman screaming that the other person in the room was hurting her, we heard doors being slammed, what sounded like glass being smashed.. it was terrifying. So we called the front desk, and asked for someone to either come and see what was happening to ensure everyone was ok or to call the police. The person on the other end of the phone told us she couldn't help us and if it was still happening in about 15 minutes to call the police. We were unable to connect with anyone.||||So we packed our things and left as quickly as we could. We got down to the front desk, and there was another family standing there so we waited, the girl at the desk asked us if we were checking out, we told her yes and we get that going. We then ask if she can call us a taxi, and she says no because the family ahead of us already has one coming and she cant have 2 come at once, so we will have to wait 15 minutes, have the cab pick this family up, and then come back to get us. So we decided to go with a lyft. I then pull the front desk girl aside and tell her that there was something very disturbing happening in the room next to us and someone should really go and make sure everyone in the room is ok, or call the police. She then removes her air pods (because apparently her music was way more important), and says "What?", so I repeat myself. and she goes "oh yeah, someone from that room has been calling me a bunch, I guess I can go check it out".||||This hotel stay was terrifying, and no one that worked there really seemed to care all that much. We were put in a very awkward and difficult position. I sincerely hope the people in the next room eventually got help, and that everyone is ok! Don't stay here unless you...
Read moreImagine having a 2 night reservation, coming back to your room on the 2nd night and the key card doesn't work there is someone else in your room?||||This recently happened to me at this motel. I had a 2 night reservation for Friday and Saturday night. I had a late flight, departing 11:25 PM from LAX and arriving at Phoenix Sky Harbor at 1:45 and even those times were pushed back a bit later. I called in 10:55pm from LAX to the motel's front desk letting 'em know I was coming in late. They acknowledged it and I felt secure about my reservation. Then when I arrived in Phoenix, in the 2AM hour there was a huge line for at the car rental center. Probably lost a good half hour to hour there.||||I finally got to the motel and checked in at 3:23AM Friday night/Saturday morning.||||I probably got up and left the room around 10AM leaving a bag of laundry there thinking I would still have access to my room later that night per my 2 night reservation. Well I came back to my room around 10PMish and my key card wasn't working and I noticed the light was on in my room and the light was on inside. I was hoping the keycard was just demagnetized and the housekeeping left the light on or something but no, I'd later find out someone else was in my room.||||WTF! This never happened to me before. I went to the front desk thinking it was only my keycard but then was informed I had been checked out. WTF! I never checked out. They checked me out against my will, sneakily changing my 2 night reservation to 1 night because I was a late check in the night before. It turns out they do this often and have had problems with this.||||I took this up with corporate and initially they said there was no record of me calling ahead that I'd be a late check in. This was an absolute lie and thankfully I still had the call record on my phone and forwarded a screenshot of it to corporate. Their front desk attendant was lying to corporate. ||||So as the reality of the situation hit me Saturday night, all I could think of is to at least get my stuff before I have to find another motel room somewhere. And the night attendant refused to go look in the lost and found because she was the only one on duty and didn't want to leave the front desk. She mentioned that there was no security so she couldn't go check but to come back the next morning and I can pick it up. So now there's the hassle of being underhandedly checked out prematurely AND having an added errand to come back the next day to get my stuff.||||It only gets worse. I came back Sunday morning and they couldn't find it. They said there was nothing left behind which was an absolute lie. The housekeeper however did remember the $5 tip I left on the table but not to check that table's 2nd shelf where I left my laundry bag with some clothes inside.||||The neglect is only compounded with their bait and switch policy.||||That their slogan is "we'll leave the light on for you" is grossly ironic considering what happened. Yeah, they'll leave the light on for you, except it'll be because there is someone else...
Read moreTo be honest, I booked this Motel 6 based off the location of it. Me and four friends were excited to be going to the Royal Rumble and NXT Takeover show. I called ahead and let them now before booking, that I lived in Vegas and that the plan was to go to the hotel after I got off work at 8:30 PM, drive to Phoenix, go to sleep, get some breakfast, and then go to NXT Takeover, eat, sleep, check out and go to Royal Rumble. I was told this would be okay, and that I didn't have anything to worry about.||||We arrived at 3:00 AM. When I went to check in, the customer service rep who was working the front desk advised that they canceled my booking I made months ago, because I did not show up at 10:00 PM. After arguing back and forth for an hour, we got settled into the room. ||||We booked a double queen room for the 4 of us. We stepped into what can only be described as a swamp. There was a lot of wear and tear and you can see the age of the room. The outlet for the cable was slightly broken, the shower had an old cigarette burn, the closet wall's baseboard, and the bathrooms base board had visible water damage.||||For the price we paid, we could accept that. I saw two medium size roaches, killed them and just chalked it up to the area we were in. FYI there is a prison/mental health facility a mile up the round. This part is important... It was so uncomfortably damp and warm in the room we had to crack open the door to let a lot of the moisture out. ||||So tired after the ordeal, we all went to bed, well my friends did, they do not offer a pull out mattress, and there was no couch so I made a make shift bed with the total of 4 pillows they had in the room. When I asked for a blanket and some extra pillows, I was told I had to wait till the morning as they are all being washed. Awesome.||||We wake up in the morning. Surprise, surprise, we have ONE towel, one wash cloth, one bar of soap. I went to the front desk and asked for these and was given right away. ||||After the event we went back to the hotel and tried to get some sleep. Between the train, that lays on their horn every couple hours, and the upstairs neighbor apparently moving the furniture, and me on a fluffier make shift bed, this was really hard to do.||||The final nail in the coffin happened at checkout. I asked for a receipt from another customer service rep. I was advised to go through the booking company for my receipt as they weren't able to find me in the system. Annoyed, tired, sore, and all around fed up. I nodded my head, and walked out to enjoy the rest of my day knowing I would write a review advising people of this misadventure.||||Side note while filling out the questionnaire. This property offers Free wifi, which is basically password free, so anyone in the area can log into this. They have a paid version of the...
