My husband and I stayed here overnight on May 1 due to a graduation ceremony in Jacksonville, Alabama. This was a Taladaga race weekend and lodging was at a premium. Many hotels raised their rates and even doubled them. The Country Hearth Inn, formerly Key West Inn was around $50. What a bargain. Because of the rate, we were really concerned but reviews were excellent. Katy checked us in and was so hospitable. She greeted us warmly, gave us a run down of the hotel, i.e. breakfast, etc. This place was immaculately clean. The people, mom and pop (Katy and Mike) are wonderful. The office/breakfast room had a few tables, coffee, tea, and for breakfast danish pastries and various cereals. Mike was cleaning up the breakfast room when I came for breakfast. Not a crumb around the place. Ice and vending accessible. Our room was spacious with a microwave and refrigerator, flat screen TV, separate vanity and bathroom, clean carpeting, table with 2 chairs, king bed, good bedding, and good a/c. No coffee machine in the room but we didn't miss it since the office/breakfast room had fresh coffee available all the time. We expected a lot less for our money. Piedmont is a nice small town with fast food restaurants. The hotel is right across from a little church. It looked as though it was a safe area, lots of lights in the parking lot. We would definitely go back there. A real bargain and an enjoyable stay. Bicyclists stay here for...
Read moreI bought a tiny house and before they could move it, rain started pouring down by the bucket loads. Looks like a week or 2 in the motel! I chose this motel because it's 5 minutes from my home and is right in Piedmont. First, I don't understand the 1 star deal. The motel was clean, the police made frequent run throughs at night and the other tenants were friendly. The rooms needed a little work attention, like a small crack in the shower, but they were clean, the ladies up front kept a constant check on towels and soaps or shampoo bottles, and the bed was changed every time I asked. There was no workers bursting in without knocking, which, after staying at Day's Inn in Centre, I found to be a luxury, and the sheets, rooms, bathroms, and beds were all in good shape and, did I mention clean? ||In closing, I know this motel is not in the best part of town, but there was no trouble, nobody coming up that did not belong here, and privacy was respected. I have no problem with staying here again and I hope you have seen that sometimes the bad reviews are nit picking and...
