I booked a 6 night stay. It stated that the check in time is after 4 pm which means ANY TIME after 4 pm you can check in because motels/hotels are suppose to be 24hr staffed. I drove from Saint Paul to Edgerton for work (2-11pm). I arrived at the hotel at 11:45 pm. no one was around. I called the number listed, phone rang and no answer. I knocked on the “Private” door sign. I waved at the 5 cameras, I went looking in the kitchenette area…no one. At one point I followed the sounds of water thinking someone was there but no. Room 125 appeared to be flooding and water leaking outside. I called the headquarters and got no assistance. The unprofessionalism is truly sad. At least someone should forward the calls to their cellphone so they can be able to assist the late comers. Cheap isn’t always the best. Edit: around 1:50 am I went around again looking for someone and saw an empty room open … I laid myself down in it. Thank God I got into the habit of always traveling with my own blankets/pillows and comforter Edit: at 6 am I go out to see if I can get assistance. Call their 102 number, no response. At 6:50 am I hear someone and go out. The lady gets a staff named “Gina” to come assist. The private door leads to another private room and that’s where Gina has been … SLEEPING. sleeping on the overnight at a motel is fine but at least wake up when a customer needs you. This Gina lady learned that one of the room is flooding at 6:50 am … this place is cheap but definitely not worth it. The lobby is FREEZING and downstairs smells bad and moldy. so I got assigned a room around 7 am after they figured out about the leaking pipes. I never got an apology or even an acknowledgment. no compensation or any sort. I mean they didn’t ask for a deposit of $50 but I don’t think they normally do. I was treated as if nothing wrong was done on their part. The second floor is decent. It has wood floors and the rooms are better. It smells and feels better. It seems they might be renovating. There’s no elevator so be aware if you have heavy luggage. The room wasn’t fully stocked with towels and there is a broken dresser draw. The motel is on a busy roadway but it’s not bad for the sound. The heating system is very good. I had to turn the dial down to 55 because it would get so hot (especially when it started snowing out). The comfort of the room is pretty good. The toilet set isn’t screwed on so … yeah. And the shower knob is coming off the wall when you pull it to start the water. I’m guessing at one point during my 6 night stay, someone came in my room while I was out. I don’t mind this because they put in new lightbulbs BUT it was apparent that that person is a smoker. as soon as I opened the door, all I could smell was secondhand smoke. I wish they had sprayed down or change their clothes or something. I have PRN asthma and having my non-smoking room smell like cigarettes…not good. So difficult to breathe. Be warned that if you try to contact the front desk via the rooms phone…you wont get an answer. I used my room phone to call the front desk (dial 0 as instructed) twice during the morning at 8:30 am and 9:45 am with no answer. I had to go down and wait for someone to come assist. 2/5 or 4/10. It’s decent but not great. it’s cheap and that’s what’s worth it. You get what...

The moment i walked in through a side entrance of this inn, i was hit with a wall of smoke. The second moment was looking to my left and seeing a “no smoking” sign. On my way to my room on the second floor, i saw several other “no smoking” signs posted, as well as an “OUT OF ORDER” written with pen on paper taped over the stairs sign at the top of the stairs. Not sure what that sign meant but i made it to the top safely. The smell was not better inside the room, i left on the AC unit on max fan for my entire stay. It took 3 days and nights with the windows open all the way and the ac unit’s fan turned to max to alleviate some of the horrendous smell.

It felt like the physical embodiment of smoke decided to crawl into this room and rot into the carpet. The carpet has stains, it is clearly not regularly vacuumed and maintained. I have a dust allergy and i have not stopped sneezing and having a runny nose, even with over the counter medications. Talk about an attack on the senses.
In the room we booked, there was one circular table that wobbled more than my late grandpa’s hands (he had advanced parkinsons, he would scoop a full spoon of soup and 90% of it would have spilt before it reached his quivering lips, rest in peace). I could not eat or work on that table, i eventually concluded it would work best as storage space.
It felt like the bed was specifically designed to cause lower back problems. There are two pillows provided, both are about 2 inches thick and have consistently given me a crick in my neck each morning. Be warned, if you are sensitive to noise, there are always trucks passing by the road close to this inn, and trains regularly pass through as well. Bring earplugs. I am a sensitive sleeper and did not plan accordingly. I lost quite a few hours of sleep.
I am currently typing this on the bed, my neck cricked and my spine bent almost in the form of a shrimp’s, as there are no other desk spaces available in this room that is suitable for long term virtual work. I refuse to sit in the chair given by the inn, as there are stains all over the seat.
On my first night (and what i found to be every night thereafter), i settled into bed with my ears slightly ringing from the sound of traffic outside, a headache and an oncoming migraine from the smell of the room, with a desire to spend more time unconscious than looking at the room. I remember my eyes meandering around the room as my eyelids began to close, before something caught my eye. There was something on the lampshade that was casting a shadow. I leaned in slightly closer. “what is… is that…?” Alas, it was a clear top Pushpin that was stuck into the lampshade. I didnt take my shoes off for fear of getting anything the lamp shade had missed stuck in my foot

I was so excited to leave. It feels like i’ve survived a horror movie and can live to tell the story. I am disappointed in the lack of improvement and change as it seems like i am not the first to post a review like this. This place has taken years from my life in a matter of days. It is astounding. Read moreWe stayed here for 1 night towards the end of a long road trip around the US. Wenstayed in sone reasonably expensive and some reasonably cheap hotels.... by and large yu get what you pay for. This is an exception.... you dont get anywhere near that.||||Arriving late in the evening we had to buzz an intercom to gain entry and (after an eternity) a slovenly guy shuffled out to let us in and check us in. Painfully slowly and unwelcoming. Choosing the room key the guy seemed uncertain... then after wandering along the dilapedated corridor he knocked on the door before opening it to let us in. A sceptic would suggest they are letting their mates or customers use rooms on an unofficial basis for some reason and they arent sure which rooms have been "sub let".||||Room was as dingy as the corridor. Layer of dust that had been there months on the door key mechanism - curtain hanging off - air con sounded like a WW1 biplane manouvering to land - sheets more grey than white - just cruddy.||||You may think I overexagerate - and enjoy writing an awfull review out of fun or as apower trip - but i have reviewed hundreds and hundreds of hotels and this really was one of the worst.||||Good points ? Wifi was ok.... cant remember if breakfast was included or not but we couldnt wait to leave and theres a McDonalds next door for a breakfast as we certainly wouldnt have risked one at this place.||||Cruddy. Even for the relativey cheap...
