I stayed at this hotel recently during a cross-country move. Although the hotel was fine, the service was terrible.
I booked a room using the app and arrived at the hotel around 1:30am. Although my hope was to be able to enter my room using the digital key, I was required to stop by the front desk and show ID prior to being issued the key. No problem there, as I appreciate the safety with that. Upon arrival, I drove a full lap around the parking lot trying to find a place to park my 16’ moving truck and car hauler. The lot was full; however, I was able to pull all the way over to the side in front of the overhang in such a way cars could still get through. I then attempted to enter the building and was met with a locked glass door. I looked inside and saw an employee, who I later identified as Celester, at the desk, so I lightly knocked on the glass. Celester gave me an annoyed looked and reluctantly opened the door and rudely asked what I needed. After explaining I was there to get my digital key activated and check-in, Celester then said, “We are fully booked so I hope you have a reservation”. I explained I did and was then met with an eye roll when I tried to present my ID. So much for the safety I appreciated!
After getting my digital key activated, I explained my parking situation and asked if it was okay to leave my moving truck where it was. Celester very rudely said no and that the cops will come and tell me to move it. I tried to explain there was nowhere else to park and the response I received was, “I don’t know what to tell you.” After more discussion, I was instructed to drive around back and move the construction cones blocking a newly poured parking area. I tried to say the cones are likely there for a reason and Celester responded with, “Not my problem”. To add to the unpleasant interaction when I asked if there were doors to enter the building out back, Celester said, “Yeah…….we do have doors to get inside”.
Once we finally got settled into our room, my son noticed he left his toothbrush in the moving truck so he went down to request one from Celester. He found Celester to be sitting on the couch in the lobby watching TV and annoyed that he needed assistance.
Overall, my stay was fine. My room was clean and breakfast was well stocked, but the lack of service or even an attempt to be kind was a real disappointment for a paying customer. When people are checking into rooms at 1:30am, they are probably extremely tired and just looking for a place to feel welcome and comfortable so being rude is an unacceptable. Also, after thinking it over, it dawned on me that cops don’t have jurisdiction in parking lots and I was not impeding the flow of traffic around the building so Celester straight up lied about being asked to move. The kicker is, there were other cars parked exactly where I was trying to park the...

Let me start with one, no- two positive things. James is a rock star at the front desk and the apple cinnamon waffle batter is bomb. Now. I did my research…prior to booking I looked up newly built hotels in the area and thinking 2019 is pretty new, I wrongly assumed there would be newer comfy beds and that it would be a good bet. I was so very wrong. Whoever (Hilton) or the decider of the construction materials built this place with straight plywood. The people above us sounded like they were going to come through our roof. All they were likely doing was simply walking- however bc the building materials were so cheap- it sounded like thunder and crashing above us all night long. We were woken up with every door on our hall that slammed (normal) shut. Every dog that barked on our hall- hell, I heard the elevator beeps. You can hear EVERYTHING. I had two very sick toddlers and I had just come back from the hospital and desperately needed rest. Which is why I “did my research” this hotel has all the good reviews (clearly doctored). DO NOT BE FOOLED. The assistant manager Marcelis cannot be bothered to take his ear buds out and come to the front desk. He has his staff field the complaints and says to take their name. It’s been three days, he still cannot be bothered to return a phone call about a guests asinine experience. I called Hilton and they are about as effective as him which is to say effectively- worthless. Working in hospitality has taught me many things but you never allow an upset guest to get this far without intervention on your part as a manager. Obviously the hospitality is lacking with management and at this proper (not you JAMES!) and honestly, they are better hotels that do not have the springs poking through the mattress causing you pain and lack of sleep. This place was the worst mistake to book. I will never stay at another Hilton property bc of the lack of care, communication and ultimately corporate dropping the ball on this.
There are better companies, better hotels and better staff at other places. Do not waste your time...
Read moreThis is the worst hotel experience I have ever had and I have stayed in hundreds of hotel all over the U.S. and other countries. Due to an ice storm I need a room to stay for the night so that I could go to work the next morning. When I made the reservation I was asked for a credit card number and was told that nothing would be charged to the card. Upon checking in I was a asked for my credit card. I stated I would be paying cash. The lady at the at the counter stated " you will be paying cash in the morning. Which I stated yes. She was then going to put a $250 hold on my debt card. I responded that there is not that on the card. She then stated that it would be $250 plus the $150 for the room for the night. Which was not available. This should have been told to me when the non refundable reservation was made through there corporate system. When I called the corporate reservations back to inform them of the situation I spent 30 minutes on the phone and the representative stated that this place says they do not take cash. Again something that should have been told to me before making the reservation. The representative even put me on hold and called the person at the actual hotel and came back with no solution. Being in a small town just of the expressway that was the only hotel in the area without driving 20 mile on icy roads. At this point the roads where a sheet of ice with no way to drive home safely so I was forced to walk back across the street to where I work and sleep in my car. BE WARNED IF YOU NEED A HOTEL AND HAVE A BUDGET THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU AND THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU THAT UNTIL YOU HAVE MADE THE RESERVATION AND TRY TO CHECK IN. Do not even stop in Pleasant View Tennessee to find a hotel unless you like to...
