Recently stayed here July 17th and was supposed to stay until the 20th. Checked out in the 18th to find a different place to stay. This place was disgusting. Whenever me and my family arrive at a hotel I do a full inspection of the room to make sure everything has been cleaned. Didn’t take long to notice that this place definitely cut corners and slacked quite a bit in the cleaning. The toilet was gross with urine on the bottom and on top, there was hair on in it and caked up all around. It looked as if it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. I called front desk and politely asked if my toilet could please be cleaned. It was an older lady working the front desk and advised me that it would. So went to the beach and came back later that evening to find my toilet still wasn’t cleaned and when removing the covers for bed there were stains all over my bedding. I checked my pillows and there was some type of nasty ball looking thing on my pillow. Not sure what it was but it was gross. There was more hair on my bedding and stains on bedskirt. Microwave was dirty and fridge looked like it hadn’t been cleaned either. I called front desk and explained the sheet situation and was told that If I wanted new ones I had to go get them and replace them myself.
The next day I spoke to mgr Jake and explained to the issues with the room thinking he would care and would want to see the pictures I took. He refused to see all the pictures, accused me of possibly doing it, was very rude, told me I could get a refund for the one night and check out and find somewhere else for me and my kids. He told me all rooms were going to be that way because it’s the same housekeeper so he was sure I was going to find stuff wrong in the other rooms. I even told him I’d stay till Friday but at a discounted rate for the last two nights and of course my room getting cleaned. He said no, he told me I could switch rooms but will run into the same problem and my rate would stay the same. He said his dad checks the rooms and makes sure their clean so he didn’t know what the issue was. I even showed him the black ball looking thing on my pillow and he just quickly glanced at the one pic and said it’s probaby just a ball of old hair as if that’s ok!! Didn’t want to waste a penny with this place. This place was covered with mosquitos and critters but I was thinking that’s normal because were outside and makes sense but nope, the place we’re staying at now doesn’t have one critter flying around.. So again they probably don’t spray or anything to keep the critters away. They were so unhelpful and rude and customer service to make sure their guest are satisfied is the last thing on their mind. I would never go back to this place and if you stay there, make sure to check your pillows, bed and room.
I got a refund and went to a condo at island retreat. Much...

From the moment we arrived, this hotel gave off an unsettling and unsafe vibe. The exterior looked neglected and the overall atmosphere felt extremely sketchy. Unfortunately, things only got worse from there.
Upon entering our room, we were hit with the smell of mildew and must. Mold was visibly growing on the lampshades near the beds, which is a serious health hazard. Every surface was dusty, grimy, and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly in a long time. When we lay in the beds, we felt constant itching, like there were bugs or mites crawling on us. None of us could sleep comfortably. It was disturbing and unsanitary.
To make matters worse, the police were called to the hotel due to some kind of violent incident. They were checking rooms, which terrified our children. At that point, we no longer felt safe staying there.
By the next morning, both my kids and I were feeling unwell. We had sore throats, itchy skin, and felt sick in general. We decided to leave a day early and informed Expedia whom we went through, but the hotel refused to give us a refund despite the condition of the room and the events that occurred. (Expedia was helpful, however I still did not receive a refund due to the hotels rejection).
The pool, which looks nice in pictures but was dirty and uninviting in person. The bottom was crusty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. While sitting near the pool, we were swarmed by strange bugs that came out of the grass. They looked like a mix between ants and termites and ended up all over our chairs and belongings. It was kinda crazy seeing it but it just made us laugh, “like what else is going to go wrong here”.
This was by far the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. I do not recommend this place to anyone. It is unsafe, unclean, and completely unfit for families or any guests at all.
Rating: 0 out of 5. This property needs to be investigated for health and...
Read moreI am including the good part as well as any negative part of my experience. The outside is vibrant and welcoming. Conveniently located just a few blocks from the beach. A very easy and safe walk. The room I had with 2 queen beds was large. The stuffed chair was very very dirty as in we wouldn't use it kind of dirty. The tile floor was in desperate need of a good mopping. My feet were black. However, when I called front desk and spoke to Susan, housekeeping was quick to respond and remedy the dirty floor. The bathroom is super tiny. The bathtub is old and stained, the water pressure in the shower was medium. The room had a micro wave and a mini fridge both of which were clean. The hot tub is small but clean and the temperature was perfect making for a very relaxing evening. They have breakfast items to choose from.
I am a person who has zero tolerance for racial prejudice. One of the housekeeping staff named Lisa, was very prejudiced against her coworkers. She is entitled to her opinion however, she was too comfortable in sharing her views multiple times. She took the same approach to telling us her personal life difficulties. I am a paying guest on vacation I have no need to know her electric is being shut off or she is facing jail time, or any other personal info. She has so much negativity oozing from her that it projects a negative energy. We tried to share the thought there is always something to be grateful for. She is not a person open to being encouraged. I feel this was our biggest drawback from the whole experience. I would visit again this time I would be more mentally prepared for such negativity from one...
