We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and our friend's 50th birthday with a beach trip! Both of those are important milestones in life and we were excited to take time out to celebrate them together.
Spent the entire first and second day on the beach which was amazing!
2nd night, we came back to get showers and while getting ready to head out to the beach for the evening, there was a knock at the door. I opened the door to find a representative of the owners and two local police officers.
Without warning and with no explanation, we were told to pack up and get out immediately, which we did. More police showed up, with all the flashing blue lights on to supervise us leaving.
Prior to that night, we had no warning of any sort that there was any sort of problem. My understanding is that, if there is an issue, the owners are to let us know. That did not happen. No one was arrested and no explanation was ever given that night as to why we were evicted.
We all spent the night on the beach and found a hotel room the next night. We lost almost all of the food we brought and even our friend's birthday cake had to be thrown out.
To say that our 30th wedding anniversary was memorable was an understatement. It was scary, extremely embarrassing and very disrespectful.
Since then, the ownership has accused us of stealing 4 pillows and they want to charge us over $2,000 in cleaning fees as well as accusing us of causing rust in the bottom of their washing machine. Keep in mind they kicked us out with no warning at 9pm. The pictures they provided show some old rust in the washer and about a 1/4 cup of sand that someone swept up.
There is no response from the ownership that is acceptable for how we were treated. I strongly recommend that anyone who is travelling to Port Aransas avoid any properties that are owned by...
Read moreWe chose this place based on the reviews. We knew the accommodations would be simple, but chose it based on the location. If you stay here, don't expect anyone to be in the office in the evening to help you if you need it, or for them to answer their "emergency" phone number. We didn't realize until the evening that we were the only people staying at the hotel, and no one else was on the property. They gave us no warning, there's no guide in the hotel for wifi, or who to call, or office hours, nothing. It was very bizarre. The accommodations weren't just simple, they were old and falling apart. The toilet seat was broken, a lamp was broken, the table's chair were rusting, and many of the cooking utensils were rusted as well. The microwave didn't work either. The beds and bathroom were clean, but the sliding glass door was dirty (like you could see where they had wiped it), and that kind of killed the view when it was too cold or windy to be on the porch. The location to the beach was very convenient, but it felt like we were roughing it, and this place is overpriced based on the accommodations. We won't...
Read moreWorst customer relations in all of Texas!! When we make reservations, my girlfriend was in good shape. However, prior to our arrival she fell and broke her hip, making it difficult for her to climb four flights of stairs. In taking with another guest we discovered the room on a lower floor would be available the next day. We checked with the desk clerk and he agreed to let us change rooms the next day. When we went to change rooms, the clerk informed us that the owner said we could not change rooms. Asking why; was told the owner wanted to save the room as it had two double beds and could sleep four people. Long story short the couple that ended up renting the room were young with a small child. After spending four days with the stairs and an owner that was even unwilling to give us a call; we will never step foot on the property again. Also, suggest you have many choices of places to stay, and it will save you from the stress of poor ownership to say at any other place – maybe even sleep on the beech!! If the choice was 0 stars we would have...
