We stayed here for nine nights as we were visiting from abroad to attend a wedding.||There was a little confusion as I'd booked online months prior with a well known booking site and then realised I could actually book cheaper direct with Marriott - which I did and cancelled the original booking.||On checking in, it became apparent the booking provider hadn't actually cancelled the booking, but the lady on reception very kindly dealt with it and sorted out the issue (we had all the confirmations and emails to show). Thank you - that alleviated so much stress!||We stayed in a two bedroom apartment (on the site it is called a villa) The accommodation was perfect for two adults and three children. One child had the sofa bed and the other two had a room and bathroom to themselves which they were delighted about. There are televisions in all rooms.||Our room had a door out to the covered balcony, its own shower and jacuzzi tub.||The kitchen was very well equipped, with oven/hob/fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, kettle and normal kitchen equipment (in fact more so than other airbnb's I've stayed in) and the washer/dryer an absolute necessity for a large family on holiday. ||Our view from our balcony was of the river, I loved sipping my coffee and watching the birds (and you could hear the ducks in the morning which was gorgeous).||As this isn't a hotel, there isn't a bar or anything like that - but for us this wasn't a problem as having young children it was easier for us to self cater/or we were going out to meet family.||The main plus for this hotel is the pool. Always quiet, lots of sun loungers and shaded areas and a hot tub too. Our children spent hours swimming and playing with the pool toys/pool noodles provided. So many happy memories! We all enjoyed spending time playing ping pong too (just ask at reception for the bats). There's a small play area adjacent to the pool, which is perfect for toddlers.||We also used the grills by the pool, which was awesome to be able to chill by the pool, grill out and watch the children swim!||Port St Lucie itself is mainly a base for golfers. However, there's lots of great areas to explore nearby:-||Jensen Beach|Stuart|Bathtub Reef Beach (beautiful)|Oceanographic Centre|Sailfish Splash Water Park (perfect for younger children)|Local Malls|Further afield there's Palm Beach Zoo|Lion Country Safari|and more||Food wise we had breakfast one morning at Berry Fresh restaurant, which was lovely.||As we were self catering; there are many supermarkets nearby. Aldi is by far the cheapest and just like the stores in the UK, Walmart is always, always worth a visit, Public is like a British Waitrose (and more costly). All within a short drive.||The only thing I would say, and it didn't detract for me at all, is the accommodation is looking a little dated in areas (the jacuzzi tub and the bathrooms). But it was all spotlessly clean and regularly maintained by housekeeping (slightly different from the UK as we weren't expecting housekeeping and I kept washing all our towels :))||One other note - is toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, a small dishwashing soap, kitchen sponge, laundry detergent (small amount) teas/coffees/creamers are all supplied as well as the usual shampoo/conditioner and shower gel ||I have to give a special shout out to Mella, who worked on reception - she was a star. So so lovely, helpful & friendly. If we were to come back it would be because of her - thank you Mella - your cheerful greetings and helpfulness were greatly noticed and appreciated :)||All in all a fantastic stay at...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed two nights at this "resort" in July of 2013. The accommodations were old and worn, the suite was dirty with lots of hair on the carpets and bathroom. We booked our 2-night stay though Priceline and ended up paying $99 per night (Friday and Saturday nights). We were gone most of the day Saturday, and after returning to the room around 2:30 pm we noticed that the room was not cleaned by the housekeeping staff. We called the front desk and the Sheraton representative who had a lot of attitude on the phone said: well obviously they forgot to clean the room so I will tell them to clean it. After this interaction, during which he did not apologize for the fact that the room was not clean and that we did not have any fresh towels and that we ran out of the shampoo and soap, we left our room. We returned around 10 pm and to our dismay the room still has not been cleaned. We called the front desk and were told that the cleaning staff has left for the day and that the house cleaning person who was present did not know how to clean a hotel room. The front desk representative did not apologize for this incident and did not provide any explanation of why our room was not serviced. We requested to speak with a manager and were told that we could not contact them. We requested to leave a message for the managers regarding this issue (and two days later we still have not heard back from them). The next day when were were checking out and asked about why the room was not cleaned, the front desk representative, the one that was rude on the phone earlier in the day stated that because we booked through Priceline we would not get room cleaning services. This explanation made no sense, since we've book through Priceline before and never encountered this problem. In addition, we read over our Priceline statement and it does not indicate anywhere on the receipt that our hotel stay would not include room cleaning. It is clear that the front desk clerk (Steve) was lying to us and that he never called the house cleaning to clean our room. We are extremely disappointed with our stay at the Sheraton PGA in Port St Lucie and will NEVER stay there again. It is extremely unfortunate that the staff of this establishment have little to no respect for the guests and their needs and lie to cover up their oversights and...
Read moreIm posting this review a little late, but we are coming back, so that's a telling story of our initial stay. They say you can plan your vacation but not the weather, that was certainly the case of our October trip. |We arrived late on a Friday, a bit of a mixup finding our reservation, took a while, but it got squared away, and we all had a good chuckle about the name mishap it was registered under. We got a beautiful 1 bedroom unit, 1st floor, which I requested if available. I loved the screened in balcony, washer and dryer in the unit and ample kitchen supplies. We eat in often, having a stocked kitchen is great! No restaurants on site, but many places around to eat and shop.|We were mainly in FL to visit family, Saturday was a beautiful sunny day, the last we would see that week. |It was nothing but rain and watchful eyes for what was to become hurricane Milton. While we were on the east coast, I have to say it was still a frightening experience watching the initial reports. |I can not say enough about the resort and how they handled this situation. When we went under a watch, we were given written instructions on what to do, and when we were upgraded to a warning, new instruction papers were sent out. We were sheltered in place, they came around taking patio furniture inside, and wanted to make sure everyone was accounted for. If you were going to leave the property, they wanted to know.|They were there to answer any questions. Port St Lucie was hit with some pretty devastating tornadoes when the outer bands came in, but we were spared from the hurricane and just sustained some high wind gusts and rain.|The ladies at the front desk were absolutely wonderful, and I can't stress that enough. The airport was shut down, I wasn't sure if we would be able to get our flight out or we would have to try and stay another night. They were very calming and helpful and luckily our airport did open and we got out on time.|Hopefully our next trip will have more sunshine and just light breezes swaying the...
