Beware of doing any business or events at Sunseeker Resorts
They over promised and undelivered during my wellness retreat, and are in complete breach of contract.
They gave me a “quote” in the beginning, of $1000, then upped the amount to almost $4000, tried doubling the total like a moving target days before my event to almost $7800. It was a total bait and switch- for 50 people.
I was initially sent links to pay towards agreed upon amounts with itemized invoices. Totalling $2000
From there, they saved my credit card information and made an unauthorized charge of $1758 - on the day of my retreat- without my authorization, without providing an invoice (after claiming we would receive a 50% refund) and the non-itemized invoice sent 4 days later was a different amount than what was agreed upon, none of the pricing matched the banquet menus pricing, and they then tried sending me credit card authorization forms, after fraudulently charging my credit card!
They could not even handle providing enough food for my 38 guests, but ran upstairs instead of bringing enough food, to charge my credit card $1758-took away my contracted upstairs space, took away the promised 8th floor pool deck, there are 12 more paragraphs more of instances and details, but I will spare you the details- unless you want to hear more.
They are criminals
Tracy Snyder was the worst, but her manager Heidi Thixton was NO better and refused to respond to my written complaint outlining the details of the breech of contract. They are claiming I benefited from their lack of competency and their breech of contract
They are claiming they are entitled to $3758 for a few hours on the outdoor green space, breakfast of egg bites, a small fruit tray, and coffee for 38 people, and not even enough lunch for 18 of my 38 guests- some of what they brought out was only one table spoon of quinoa, less than 4 oz of raw vegetables, and a small culinary shot glass with some green sauce in it- total embarrassment. They even took our water away they charged us $75 for 2.5 hours before our event ended! They did outline part of this charge was to TIP themselves!!!!! Sunseeker Resorts caused many challenges with planning my wellness retreat. I put a lot of effort into planning and curating an event to help people, only to be let down by unprofessional behavior and poor service. My experience certainly seems to have involved some misleading practices that impacted my event and financials.
Savings others the frustration that I went through, especially after I’ve invested so much time, energy, and passion into creating an amazing experience for my guests- only to be misled and over promised and undelivered by Tracy at Sunseeker Resorts.
Despite the promises made by the resort and the extensive planning that went into this retreat, I faced numerous challenges that severely impacted the quality of the event. From miscommunication and unfulfilled contracted agreements-
To hold Sunseeker Resorts accountable, I have filed a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and disputed the unauthorized charges with my bank- having never been provided with a final invoice or a final receipt and being offered a 50% discount for not providing enough food for my guests. I strongly believe that transparency and accountability are vital in any business, especially within the wellness and hospitality sectors, where individuals trust you with their well-being.
I am sharing this experience not only to raise awareness of the challenges I faced but also to help others avoid similar disappointments. I encourage anyone considering a partnership or retreat with Sunseeker Resorts to conduct thorough research and take steps to protect themselves from potential pitfalls. If you are an organizer or consumer looking to host or attend a wellness retreat, please be vigilant about ensuring the company you choose aligns with your values of integrity, professionalism, and respect for your investment.

Read moreMy family and I are actually staying here now. We have a lake view suite. I normally wait until I leave before reviewing, but I will make an exception this time. Prior to our arrival, we were sent text messages and emails expressing the Sunseekers staff excitement of our impending arrival to their facility. When we drove onto the property, the valet staff seemed very overwhelmed as on July 19th, there was some sort of event happening in the main building, which happened to be the day that we checked in. We sat there in our rented vehicle for an inexcusable amount of time in my opinion for the amount of money we spent in airfare, a 7 day car rental and 7 nights charges to stay here at the Sunseeker property. I'm pretty certain that this event was booked way ahead of time, so it's not like they didn't know that they were coming. When we finally made it up the incline to the front of the building I rolled the window down and let the attendant know that my family and I were checking in and we would be using the valet service and that we needed a bellman to bring our bags up to our rooms, please. He said okay and to leave the keys on the dashboard. We went to the front counter and let them know we were checking in. She smiled and requested my last name to retrieve our reservation. She asked if we were staying for 7 nights, and I said yes. Everything seemed fine until it didn't. Another employee walked up next to the lady who was checking us in, and she began directing her to make some sort of changes in the computer. The keys were replaced by different ones, and I felt as if we had just been moved. She asked if our bags were in our car, and I answered yes. She told me not to let them valet my car because we would not be staying in that building but over in another building. I was very disappointed because if we needed to drive to another building, this would certainly be a problem at some point. We were not given a proper welcome, and none of the properties amenities was explained to us at all. We've stayed in some pretty hig end places and were always treated much better during check-in. We got back into our rental and the valet gave us quick instructions over to the another building and finally said to follow the car in front of us that just pulled away because they were heading there as well. So I did. Upon arrival at the next location, I let the valet know that we would need a bellman for our bags. The property itself is beautiful. Our rooms are immaculate. The view is everything they said it would be. We've been treated to views of dolphins playing, and the sunsets are a must-see. Unfortunately, those things are not enough to keep us happy. We are over in the Iris Tower a short distance from the main building, which houses all of the restaurants and the pools. We flew into Fort Myers Airport (RSW) and drove 45 minutes to get here. We decided to valet for $32, and that's fine. We're here for 7 nights, so I'm sure you can do the math. The problem I have is this... whenever we want to do something or eat something that's in the main building, like eating, swimming, shopping, or exploring, we have to go downstairs in the elevator, walk over to another building and request a golf cart over to the main building. We're on day 3 of our 7 day stay. The waiting time has been anywhere from 5 minutes to 15 minutes. The alternative to this process is to request our vehicle at the valet and drive ourselves over to the other building and valet again when we reach the other building. I don't feel right abusing the busy valet staff, so we opt for the golf carts. Walking over with the kids is simply out of the question in the 96-degree heat, and in the rain, We're expecting the rest of this week. I feel that there should be food options here in the Iris Tower for guests. Now, if you've been to Sunseeker.com and pulled up the price for a 7 night stay, add in the valet fees, resort fees, and several other fees we have spent a pretty penny to stay here and we don't feel that we are getting our...
Read moreThe hotel is gorgeous, but the check-in experience is a little clunky especially if you’re in the sun suites.
When we pulled into the sun suite valet there was absolutely no one there to greet us, despite the questionnaire ahead of time stating they wanted to know what kind of car we drove so they could greet us upon arrival.
Even worse, none of my requests, which I requested via phone upon initial reservation, via a form that was sent a month in advance, and via email to the person who actually text me were honored. I asked for a quiet room away from the elevator icemaker, and preferably on the top floor, where I would not hear anyone since we are only here for two nights and we are kid free.
We got to our room on the 4th floor (middle floor), which was literally the first one next to the elevator and directly across from the icemaker. Sigh!
Thankfully, the bedroom is towards the back of the suite so it didn’t end up mattering, but that is a really poor way to start an experience . Why even send a pre-arrival form if you don’t care to honor anything? We are staying here again in 2 weeks and I may not bother filling it out next time.
The room itself is spacious but almost awkwardly so. Very limited furniture and a lot of open space which makes it feel huge but it seems like it needs more barstools or a bigger kitchen table or something to fill in the area. It is impeccably clean, so kudos to the housekeeping staff!
The patio has a nice table and four cushioned chairs but again huge without any plants or anything else that would liven up the space a little bit. Maybe a chaise lounge or couch? We noticed other rooms had lounge chairs, but ours only has the table with four regular chairs.
The full kitchen is awesome so that you can cook healthy meals while traveling. However, there was only one coffee mug and very few other silverware and dishes in the room. No champagne flutes either. No can opener. No blender. Things that most beach resorts have on hand. We were constantly having to share cups and plates and wash them every single time. My mom stayed here with friends a few weeks ago and said same thing, so when I return in a couple weeks with her, we will bring some of our own stuff from home.
The bathroom is very nice, but I wish they would have a soaking tub in addition to the walk-in shower. That would make this feel much more luxurious and relaxing. They do have his and her sinks which was nice and the toilet is in a separate room for privacy, which is amazing. The lights are perfect for putting on makeup. There’s also a washer and dryer, which is amazing! I love being able to do laundry so that when I get home, I don’t have to do it!
In the main area there is a sectional couch that folds out if you need it, but we did not need that. They also have a chair that swivels around which is great so that you can be facing the TV or you can be facing the couch. They have a huge bar area but only two barstools when it could easily fit five barstool so that’s a little odd as well.
The family room and the bedroom have ceiling fans, which is great since it’s very hot here in Florida at this time and the AC seems sluggish - taking hours to get to where we wanted it.
In our room, they also included two postcards which I thought was a nice touch. I sent one home for our daughter.
There are plenty of different restaurants on site with a variety of different culinary experiences so there’s definitely something for everyone. They have an amazing gift shop as well with a lot of unique food and gift items if you’re looking to send something home. There’s also a rooftop bar that is 18 and up with a pool. Highly recommend doing that if you are here, kid free!
Overall, the hotel was a great experience, but there is some room for...
