This is a hard review to write, because the family that owns this place is trying really hard with a property that has obviously seen better days. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful.||If you are a family with small children, they'll probably love this place. All of the rooms center on an atrium (dated, literally taped together in parts, but still fun) that has a mini-golf, an arcade and a pool with hot tub. These are open from 9a-11p. If you're traveling with an older child or don't have kids, and you value peace and quiet and a good night's sleep in a building that's been well-maintained, this is not your hotel. Unfortunately, we're in the second category.||We checked in and received plastic wrist bands, and were told to wear these at all times in the hotel. They govern access to the atrium and to the breakfast. An armed police officer was standing inside the entrance. I also had to sign a document stating there would be NO REFUNDS for noise complaints. I've never had any of these things happen in a hotel before.||The entrance door from the outside to our section of the hotel would not lock. The hallway carpets are stained, and it seems the entire building and the parking lot could benefit from a thorough renovation. ||The room itself was a decent size and had nice, firm mattresses. It came with a fridge and a flat screen TV. The temperature was comfortable. It also had dirty mirrors, handprints on the wall and two of the exact same piece of art hung up side by side. One of our pillowcases had a stain on it. The bathroom simply couldn't be thoroughly cleaned anymore, because there are too many cracks and crevices from the passing of time. The tub-to-shower diverter was stuck in the shower position.||The atrium, on a weekend, is super hot and super loud. There is no privacy because the shades don't completely cover the room window. So there isn't a good way to escape the noise and the foot traffic from the atrium unless you wear earplugs (I did) or wait until after 11 to go to sleep.||Breakfast was pretty standard fare. We didn't get much to eat because we arrived a little bit before it closed, and the line for food was very long. The attendants were very friendly.||Last little bit, more of a quibble but notable on top of everything else. We had three of us in the room but only got two bath towels. I went to the front desk, and the (very helpful, friendly) agent gave me what she said was her last towel. She also wrote down our room number when I took it. I wondered: do they have so few towels, or do they get stolen so often, that they have to track how many go to each room?||All of this for $150 for the night, or $200 if you include the pet fee. I hate to say it, but we won't...
Read moreWhere do I start...I am reading some of the other reviews and most are correct. I am an operations manager at another hotel. This hotel needs at least 5 million in repairs. So many things wrong, too many to list. Every where I looked I saw neglect and filth. I work for a choice hotel and I know there is no way this hotel would pass inspection or even come close. I'm almost for sure someone died on the bed I slept it. Not making this up. When I inspected the room my self I found dead bugs, spider webs, holes in walls, and every surface above 5 feet was filthy dirty. Maybe housekeeping is short and there is obviously no one inspecting rooms after housekeeping. Like I said the bed was a murder scene. I have pictures as proof but I can't link them to this. When I showed front desk they didn't offer a refund or any sympathy at all. Obviously they know the owners won't pay to fix anything. The whole hotel reeked and none of the carpets anywhere we're cleaned. The website says sold out, hmmmm is that because half the rooms were being used as storage. Yes I looked at everything just part of my job. They don't say anything about the outside doors being propped open with the garbage cans with cigarettes overflowing in the tops, major major no no in the hotel game. They can be shut down just for that, being a major safety violation. Ohhh almost forgot about the atrium/pool area. Almost everything in it was dirty or just neglected. Pool liner was ripped and had holes in it, wife almost tripped on it going in. Hot tub must have a leak in bottom because garden hose was constantly being put in it.. in my professional opinion the owners should sell and get out of that profession. The only good part was reception and front desk area. The rest needs condemned. Oh yea almost forgot the best part, there were tornados in the Cleveland area that week so many of the guests were there because of no power. I found out what the actual rates were and when I was talking to some of the guests they were charged more than the rates actually were because the owner knew they had no where else to go. So he was making profit of a natural disaster, what a piece of garbage. Like I said he should sell and be so ashamed of making money of people's misfortune and also renting any rooms that were in the shape of mine. Btw my name is Mike and everything is true in my statement even if you don't believe go check.out the hotel and find out for yourself. Thank you. I bet it was an awesome place in the 90s but it needs torn down probably...
Read moreIt all started after i booked my stay. Booking it on the app was fine I’ve always used the app cause we travel a lot. However this particular time i had to call the hotel because there was a large group of us and there was a group rate. So i called and the girl gave me the group rate on the room i booked by the poolside. I chose this room because we had a large number of teenagers with us and i knew they would be at the pool. Several days later Eddie the manager called my phone and left a voice mail stating that I would not be able to have a pool side room because our group rate was for a particular wing and there was also a private party in the pool area Friday night. When i was able to call back i was able to call back told by a staff member that there shouldn’t be any issues but the manager would call me. My room reservation was then canceled on the app with no idea why. This was three days before traveling to your hotel. I waited till the next day waiting on Eddie to call, with no call back. Called the next day the staff member was new and unable to answer my questions and Eddie was tied up in a meeting regarding this private party, left my number and waited again all day for a call back. My call was finally returned less than 24 hrs of me traveling to say we will figure it out when i get there. Not my favorite answer to traveling away from home. Regardless when i arrived they had a couple rooms for me to pick from thankfully. Now to this hotel room typical charge for this pool side room is between 129.00 and 159.00 a night. This is a ridiculous price for this room or any room in this whole hotel. The rooms were filthy, out dated and had a strange musty smell. I had to unplug everything at night because one of the outlets was burnt and appeared to be close to an electrical fire. The tv had some sort of cleaner maybe sprayed all over it and not wiped off. The bathroom was filthy, the shower curtain was moldy, there was rust all over anything that was metal. The water had a weird odor, so much so i went and bought bottled water to brush my teeth. if the bathroom would have been big enough to turn around in i would have fallen due to the amount of water that came out of the shower due to there not being a liner on the shower curtain. If it had been the fact that the entire team was there i would have left immediately. I have stayed in may hotels before and this one by far has been the worst. It wouldn’t take much to put a bit of effort into those rooms because you could have a beautiful hotel that is worth the...
