STOLEN ITEMS
I drove out of my way to stay here because the reviews were good for the price on Google's Hotel Booking. I was on a long-haul move with a Uhaul, car carrier, and pup and this place fit the bill. Check in was a bit lengthy because the front desk attendant was new but she was nice and particularly friendly to my dog. My room wasn't great- an adjoining room that looked directly to the parking lot. I could hear lots of noise from the drunk neighbors next door but slept with ear plugs in.
Unfortunately, tired from 3 days into a long move I left my toiletry bag in the bathroom at checkout. I called the next day as soon as I realized (thought it had just gotten misplaced unloading the truck) the next day (Saturday). Front desk, same person as at check-in, confirmed they had my bag, but that they were unable to ship. She even said they would be unable to if I provided the shipping envelope with pre-paid label. Said I could call back on Monday to talk to the manager. I did, the manager was not working until Tuesday but I got another front desk person who confirmed they do ship, and the manager would take care of it and would call to let me know they did so. 2 full days go by... no call so I do (Thursday) to see what the status is. Got the original front desk person again. She told me the manager was gone for the week and to call back the following week. So if she was being honest- this means the manager is in for two days a week..? I told her this was unacceptable and I needed to know if the item was shipped. She put me on hold for awhile and then confirmed it was shipped.
Fast forward two days, yesterday (Friday), I receive my bag and most of the contents of my bag were stolen. I am gutted. My favorite jewelry including a ring from my dead mother that she gave me when I was a kid, and some of my other 'everyday' pieces that I had removed for the move but wanted to personally carry on me. They also stole inexpensive items like my razor, cheap face serum (almost empty, $10 on amazon), medication (a controlled substance), and more. I immediately called the hotel crying. The front desk person said she would leave a note for house keeping and the manager but I wouldn't be surprised if I never hear from them given the rest of my experience.
I had left a good tip in the room for the housekeepers too. I had some other unfortunate things happen during my checkout day as well- I would say there are good people everywhere but the Modesto/Salida area is rough- I would highly recommend staying elsewhere if you can. It's unfortunate that there are not many good places to stay along the 5. This is definitely not...
Read moreWorst experience EVER. Terrible service by “management”. Do not recommend. Spend your $$$ down the street!
Recently stayed here with my 3 young children in between moving. At first it was going well. Kristy at the front desk was the most helpful and kind! No issues whatsoever until…
There was a hiccup with another gal at the front desk our first week. Basically my prepaid reservation got cancelled. That was a headache itself but eventually got resolved. I gave them another chance which I REGRET
I had made separate reservations throughout our stay which each one I would check in at front desk with no issues.
So Tuesday morning I wake up and I go to check in at the front desk for my next PREPAID reservation for the next few days.
The “manager” (whom I never interacted with) began to pull up my reservation and immediately began making false claims. She then advised we are no longer able to stay at this location after the reservation is up.
I question the claims and was told they are from the prior weekend (FALSE bc I did not leave my room for 4 days, housekeeping did NOT come to my room once. I had to ask Kristy at the front desk for toiletries and towels)
Housekeeping had not come to my room since a week prior!!
The “manager” stopped answering any questions I had and just continued to state we cannot stay past the newest reservation. I told her I would be right back as I was clearly upset with the service.
Within 30 minutes I contacted Wyndham customer care and filed a complaint. I was upset we were being treated this way and how the “manager” continued to claim this was all in her “notes” from housekeeping.
Within the same hour I went back to the front desk and was told by the “manager” we could no longer stay for the prepaid reservation and had to instead leave the property that same day (within 2 hours) We are no longer welcome at this location or the nearby location. WHAT?!?!?
Talk about retaliation?! The response from the manager was “I’m not going to argue with you” when I questioned the change after a complaint was filed.
I called Wydham customer care once more and currently have an open case with Wydham.
We ultimately left and had to go through hours of inconvenience to book elsewhere.
I will ensure the company I work for, as well as friends, family etc do not waste their time or money at this place!!
The “manager” sucks. She had a bad attitude, no customer service skills and clearly unprofessional.
Maybe you should notes and learn from Kristy- she was great, attentive and...
Read moreThe front desk manager and general manager have continually harrased me and my family whe I am down here as a traveling RN. They have continually harrassed us regarding our pets. I just finished a walk through and again there is no smell or damage. I came down here as a traveling ICU nurse and work nights. They keep calling to remind us of the new set rules to let housekeeping in, but they must not talk with housekeeping because we have complied. Of course they call when I am sleeping which I have repeatedly told them I am on a 60hr a week night schedule but they seem to not care. I have asked for them to cancel the rest of my booked days so I can leave but they won't. They just keep harassing us. They even demanded my contract which I sent reluctently. They keep telling me that they always have problems with pets. This would have been nice to know before I paid 10,000 to stay here up front! Definitely not recommended especially for front line workers. There is also no discount for front line workers here even though I recieved it at other wyndam hotels. I have traveled the country during the pandemic and have used Wyndam Hotels frequently and have never had a problem until I stayed here! This is anti hospitality and false advertising! I don't understand why they won't give me back my money that I paid in full for the rest of my stay so I can go somewhere else! Definitely not the only game in town. Traveling Nurses Do Not Come here!
Update: Several days after leaving they tried to charge my card for damages. I had the maintance person do a walkthrough a few days before leaving and found no damage or odor. I thought something like this was going to happen so I had it electronically documented with took extensive pictures and video of the condition of the room after leaving. Very shady manager! Definitely is trying to take advantage of me and charge me even more! This makes it really difficult because I was there for work (60+ hrs a week) and very stressful. Once again if your traveling for work/healthcare worker avoid this place like the Corona! Very dishonest! I am glad I took the time to...
