It had been a long while since I last stayed at a Hilton brand hotel mainly due to my location needs (I normally book and prepay third-party through my airline as I typically hotel 'shop' around the area and make a selection based on location and best overall value). The best candidate on my search results this time was Hampton Inn Riverside/East Corona from Hilton.||Being the pioneer company in the hospitality industry, I knew this hotel corporation places very high standards on its products and sets the bar as it did back when Conrad Hilton himself ran the show. Overall, Hilton delivered on these standards during my Saturday night stay.||Booking and Reservation...As mentioned, I booked third-party via my airline mainly for the generous reward points that it offered that I can use for future travel. I had no major issues with booking other than one minor glitch. My carrier offered the bonus flight points for this property which equated to about $15 or almost 10% of the base room rate toward future airfare. On the afternoon I attempted to lock in the offer, it vanished...Gone. The next day, the 1,000 rewards point bonus came back...and I was able to secure the deal. I obviously can't blame the hotel for me briefly "missing" this special but I found that brief blackout period of the sale to be quite strange.||Arrival, Location, and Lobby...Very Welcoming. Hampton Inn is located in the heart of the Riverwalk Master Planned Community in the La Sierra neighborhood of the City of Riverside just east of Corona, walking distance to a pair of corporate office buildings and numerous public amenities and restaurants, making it an ideal spot for both business and leisure travel. This included access to the Riverwalk Trail that parallels the main road. The landscaped, tree-lined driveway into the property had a welcoming and unique feel that drew me toward the font door of the hotel. The hotel lobby was spacious and welcoming. There were plenty of places to spread out and sit down. ||Check-in...Went smoothly. Friendly staff. They checked my ID. The incidentals deposit was $100. The hotel enforces its free guest parking lot policy with printed dashboard parking slips that are valid until checkout day. There was no need to provide my vehicle license plate details to the front desk. ||The Room...I booked a standard 1 King Bed Guest Room. I used a standard Keycard that was issued to me. Room was spotless and had an up-to-date contemporary design. Hilton's interior designers did a quality job of mixing the traditional hardwood furniture with today's contemporary look-and-feel. The bathroom had a spacious walk-in shower in place of a bathtub. The room's coffee pot was also located in the bathroom (I'm assuming it was there for easy access with the sink). Room also had a mini-refrigerator. Basic Wi-Fi was free for all guests at this Hilton property (e.g. ideal speeds for checking email, basic web browsing); one just needs to verify their room number with the registered guest's last name. No Hilton Honors membership was required to access the free basic services but one will need to scroll past the membership program's registration form and all its marketing to locate and access the free basic service. They also provide premium high speed Wi-Fi for a fee. ||The Property...Nice outdoor pool hours into the late night...open 'til 10pm. I had a chance to take a nice cool dip during the heat of the afternoon. The pool area captures some of the traffic noise from a nearby thoroughfare but it did not take away from the experience. The pool temperature was comfortable, water was clean. The hotel also offered meeting rooms and a small workout gym. ||Breakfast...Got to love having a free hot breakfast plus all of the continental sides and drinks. Generous hours even on weekends: 6am-10am. Unfortunately, I was not able to experience this as my morning get-together with my folks involved an outside breakfast trip to a local restaurant, but upon coming back to the hotel later in the morning to check out, I took a walkthrough this breakfast buffet and would certainly utilize it in a future visit. The dining area served as a multi-use area; used for eating in the morning and can be used as a communal hang out spot at other times. Did I mention that Hilton's interior designers did a great job with the area's look-and-feel?||Hilton delivered on my stay at Hampton Inn. While I think the 'maze' to access the free basic Wi-Fi probably needs some simplification with less in-your-face marketing to sign up for the hotel's loyalty program, this minor inconvenience does not disrupt from the amenities and quality standards that I believe Conrad Hilton himself would appreciate if he were alive today. The location is ideal for both business and leisure travel with decent pricing during most weekends. I would definitely consider...
Read moreI paid to stay in a hotel, a subsidiary of the Hilton and instead I stayed in a clean MOTEL that serves breakfast. This is ridiculous, I shouldn't have paid more than $75 after tax with what I was actually provided by this hotel! Completely unacceptable, will never come back to this location. Will be contacting corp unless MGMNT contacts me in the morning, may also be contacting my attorney due to the lack of rectification of these problems and the injuries caused especially B/C, to this very minute, have not fixed the problem nor even put up a sign to let people know they could be injured! I'm an honors member, I've never had such a horrible experience! 1stI didn't get my owner gift upon my check in, twice in a row, I had to ask for it and then they downgraded the bags by taking the snacks out?! Then, they did not give me info. for the Wi-Fi when I checked in & then when I went down the next day to ask for it we were told we have the info...Once housekeeping clocked on,the elevators became very scarce, I determined to this is b/c they dont seem to have a dedicated service elevator. I did notice that 1 of the 2 elevators had a rear entry that clearly went into housekeeping so common logic says that the hotel was built for that to be used as a service elevator and the other as the primary guest elevator but they were taking any elevator they pleased& when they got in they weren't moving over to the side to allow other people in unless people were actually asking them to do so(I did notice several housekeepers waiting for the next elevator when they saw people trying to get on). of course, if they're going from 4th down to 1st to drop off their dirties,&it's a busy day, then the elevator is going to be stopping at all floors on the way down..,. ...My oldest daughter got her foot cut by the bottom of their bathroom door near the pool& then my 4yr-old got a chunk of her toe sliced off by the thing! Blood all over their hallway.... MTNC was awesome, he hustled to get Band-Aids&MGMNT for me, someone came to talk to me representing herself is management(learned later she was front desk) didn't even let me finish explaining what happened then told me she's going to go get someone who is not even an employee of the hotel to talk to me! when I asked her for another Band-Aid , she acted like it was a big deal that I was asking her for it and told me she'd have to see if they had any left .... never once did she offer any Bacitracin or first aid care! Over 24 hours later and I still have yet to speak to a manager of this location! The next day, we woke up to find that they had closed the entire back area (including pool) due to scaffolding that was going up&planned by MGMNT ahead of time yet no signs were put up prior to, no notice was given to me or any other guest upon check-in, I discovered mgmnt had neglected to inform any of the hotel staff so when the hotel staff came in in the morning and saw what was going on they were confused and had to contact MGMNTt at home, I assume since they weren't working here at all this weekend, to find out what was going on and then had to print up signs themselves to display since management didn't do their job correctly! I find that to be a huge screw up since it's a management responsibility and they decided to schedule it on a weekend during a big event without informing anyone! See the pictures, they clearly put a metal plate on a broken door instead of replacing the door. And it's the metal plate that is slicing these girls foots open! What is wrong with this picture?!? And I Hilton subsidary Hotel! I do not expect this at all. I would have stayed at the Motel 6 if I had known this would have been my experience here. If you plan on staying at this hotel go and check this door first if they still have yet to repair it/warn guests, you should stay elsewhere as they clearly aren't concerned for their guest safety! NOW OVER 48 HOURS w/out contact but they could reply to this apologizing w/out...
Read moreCAUTION! Beware of extra fines (after you've left) and incorrect billing! Best to not stay here if your a team or an individual for that matter.
Our Calgary Canada hockey team attended a tournament in Riverside. This is a respectful team of players and parents. There was a parent staying in every room. This hotel is a sanctioned tournament hotel that 1Hockey referred us to (and there were other teams in the hotel).
3 of our families got fines at the end of our stay. Two for noise and one for damage. The noise complaints came with one warning, but no further warnings, and no indication or knowledge of a fine until we checked out. The so called "damage" was an already faulty closet door that kept falling off of one of the hinges. The parent in the room just kept putting the pin back in. When he checked out, he had a normal billing with just his room bill. Two days later, Hampton Inn put a $500 USD for "damages" on his credit card. This is due to their lack of maintenance not damage done by the people in it. We have tried working this out with Hampton Inn and also their parent company The Hilton. None of whom are listening or care. The team got a $1400 USD fine. The way The Hampton handled it (after we had left and returned to Canada), and the things they said to us afterwards, were unprofessional and inappropriate. They lied about the damage amongst some other things. The way we see it is they were out for a money grab. I wonder just how many other teams (and there were quite a few there as well) that also have gotten fines from this hotel? They also tried to bill all of us the more expensive room rates even though we had booked at a lessor rate and they had sent an email confirming it. Once we were home, we all had to go back to our booking email and forward it to them to have our credit cards credited back the difference. Shouldn't have to do this. Perhaps they were thinking we wouldn't notice it??? I would not recommend staying here for these reasons. The rooms have paper thin walls anyways, so it's pretty hard to "tip toe" around that fact. Easy to get a noise...
