We were moving from Wisconsin to North Carolina and decided to stay the night here as it was low in cost, and mainly because, when we called, they told us the accepted animals and we were moving with three! We called ahead of time to make a reservation and both myself and my mother confirmed with the lady on the phone that they accept pets, and she said 'Yes' each time. Upon arrival, we noticed all of these signs stating they do not accept pets. At checkin, we asked the lady at the front desk, and she said they only accept service animals. My dog is a service animal, however, my cats are not. We explained this to her, and she said the dog could stay, however, the cats wouldn't be able too. The reservation we had made had been non-refundable and they wouldn't let us out of the reservation, even though we were assured they accepted all pets. My husband and his mom had to find accommodations elsewhere to stay with our cats, and my mom and I had to stay with my dog at this hotel as they refused to give our money back. Additionally, after we already had this conversation at the front desk, within SECONDS, of walking into the room, there was a knock on our door from a lady at the front desk stating they are not pet friendly and our dog wasn't welcome in the room. I had to show them my paperwork AGAIN stating she was a service animal. Not only was this extremely inconvenient, but the room itself was disgusting. The bedsheets had dirt and stains all over them, our bathroom sink was cracked and looked as though it was about to fall apart, their vending machines were out of everything except Mountain Dew, the door to get into the room had a huge gap under it so you could see the hallway light all night and hear any noise of anyone in the hallway, the hotel itself smelled of marijuana throughout the whole building, when we first walked in there was a shirtless man hanging around the lobby. I think when we had left, we left the room cleaner than we received it. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, even as a...

We had stayed at this Microtel Inn recently, i recommend not to purchase any rooms on the end that is close to Linden Ave, due there is a Great amount Road Noise from Traffic thru out the entire day and nights, i would get rooms more to middle to other end of the inn. Also make sure to check room throughly cause there were stains on the floor beside the bed sure want to bring to there attention so that your not charged for it, also i am not sure why there is only three pillows to a bed when it is a couple renting room, so had to go down desk get extra pillow which seem he was reluctant handing out, due the older male desk clerk said bring one pillow down and well give you another (not sure what that was about when i explained well we only had three and needed a forth) gave up at that point, later in evening my wife went down to desk and there was a young female staff at desk, wife explained and young female said that probably the cleaning staff forgot to place forth pillow on bed she was sorry for that, hmm lil weird, also at each side bed of the box spring are these metal clips that are there to hold boxspring in position, but if the bed is moved while cleaning crew is placing covers on bed or etc these clips can bed outward and end up cutting back side your calf, it did happen, had to bed it back up and out of harms way. The bathroom floor need to be aware there is a drain out in floor area by shower and a drain in the shower, when soap suds go down the shower drain it comes up thru the drain out in bathroom floor and if you was not aware of this you could step on the suds out in floor and slip and fall. The breakfast, lets just put it this way, checked it out but decided to go across Linden Ave next-door to McD’s to have breakfast. The Staff was very nice, smiling at all times there were no problems with there attitude or any thing like that at all. I think they need to pay more attention to small details and keep little things up keep on and this could be a...
Read moreI was in Dayton for a two-day, weekend event. Checked in Friday, left Sunday. It was my first time staying at a Microtel. After my experience, I'm never using Microtel again.
Hotel pros - very basic hotel appropriately priced. Dated, a bit sketchy looking, but fairly clean.
I gave my stay one-star for the following reasons:
There is not enough parking. I did not get back to the hotel from my event until 2:00 am. Upon arriving, there was no place to park in the lot. There were maintenance vehicles taking up 16, SIXTEEN, of the available spaces in their small lot. I called the desk, and was told they couldn't do anything. I could "park in the lot next door, but had to move my car by 6:00 am or get towed." No apology, no sense of responsibility on managements part to do anything to assist. So after 3 hours sleep I got up and moved the car. Spent the rest of the weekend exhausted since it was hard to get back to sleep after.
The bathroom situation is horrible. I needed to dress up for the event I was attending. The light in the bathroom is atrocious. I ended up taking everything to the venue and doing my hair and makeup there. Ladies, if you need to look polished and professional DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL UNLESS YOU BRING A MAKEUP MIRROR. IT IS AWFUL. I travel for work and stay at a lot of budget hotels, and I've never seen one with bathrooms this bad.
It's a cheap, clean-ish but tired hotel convienently located off the interstate. That's all it has going for it. For this traveling professional, it was a waste of time and money. I left exhausted and...
