WoodSpring Suites Round Rock-Austin North — Hotel in Round Rock

Multiple problems. Was told there was a room on the 2nd floor before arrival when arrived only was a fourth room. So took available 1st floor. Things were not right, ie shower curtains for handicap accessible were not the correct length so water leaked onto the bathroom floor so was moved to fourth floor. where was 🐜 infestation so bad that it spread from the kitchen to the bed and a few in the bathroom so was moved to the 2nd floor room. There was something wrong with the circuit breaker? But then it was the refrigerator problem ended up with food poisoning because discovered that the refrigerator was not keeping the small amount of food in it cool enough. The practically new refrigerator was changed out for another refrigerator told by staff that both refrigerator were still under warranty. All this trouble for a little over 1 month at this extended stay hotel where Was informed that there is no inspectors for extended stay hotels. Though they have electronics ie 2 stove burner, refrigerator, microwave, a medium size big screen TV, a landlines telephone that sometimes did not work~ persons voice muffled. I was told by the general manager that the refrigerator problems was due to high heat temperatures. Strange that personally lived in 118 degrees weather and never had a problem like this with refrigerators. All this roubles plus some was charged approx $1700 and because I could get transportation from TX back to my place to Md until Saturday August 23, 2022 I paid approx $579 to I7th August but was overcharged for to August 24,2022. I brought it the attention of the General Manager that was refunded to my CC along with Approx $83 for all the aggravation. I felt that it should have been more or at least free stay for the future at a wood springs suites extended stay in another state but I discovered that this was LLC independently owned hotel unfortunately and that the general manager was the only person that one could seek recourse. So I plan to never return to this particular extended hotel. Also the increase loud noise and fire cracker right outside the window 2nd floor. The attendant assistant, per my physician orders due to my multiple disorders, left. No telling the reasons due to all the unforseen unplanned problems. Well as a simple guy who just needed a room for a few nights and found this Hotel! I was at this hotel 12th,13th,14th of Dec 2023! When we checked in the receptionist was kinda of rude to us,his name was Barrington short for Barry! I understand that phones ring,customers walk in and there is those who are complaining I understand that,but if you can't handle it well then there's no need for u to work this kind of employment. How are u gonna tell a customer to wait cause he was on the phone with the spouse of his,told us to sit down and wait til he got done with call,really. After he attended us we walked to room to see it window blind was broke,no remote to TV, no towels,dirty trash can,so went back down and told him about it,his response was and I quote "oh well it is what it is ill get it done when I have a chance" well we left room for the rest of day to the hospital to wait for the arrival of my first granddaughter. We came back of course late 11pm office was closed already so walked in room guess what it was still the same way we found it. Sad thing is if we called at night to get this fixed my credit card was gonna get charge again so no I didn't report it waited til morning, I called and some sweet lady receptionist answered and immediately came to fix the problem right away,I think she deserves a rasie in pay. Can't remember her name she was hispanic lady!! So next trip to visit my granddaughter and her parents, I won't be renting at this place anymore that's for sure. Know that if you book a last minute there are no changes or refunds. Ask to see your room before paying!!! I already paid up for the week upon checkin, so I’m screwed pretty much. I needed to request a room change because the room doesn’t have a safety latch on the door (solo female traveler and safety is a major concern) and the tub had some huge discolored mystery patch with dirt and hair in it!! I scrubbed and scrubbed and it’s still disgusting! There’s no front desk evenings and overnight. If you call, you’ll only reach someone on the “emergency line” and no one comes in to work the front desk til like 9am-5pm the dispatcher said when I called! Never heard of such! I stayed at another WS in the area and it was nice. This location was closer to my work site. Mistake!! Be mindful of what you’re getting: Basic extended stay room, no pots/pans/kitchen utensils provided, no ice machine anywhere, people leave piles of trash by the elevators or their doors. They do have at charge washers/dryers and a minimal gym. Could be nice with more room maintenance and cleanliness. The young lady that checked me in was pleasant. Also, given one price online and via phone and given another upon checkin. I don’t norm add pics but they’d claim I was lying...
