Takes a lot for me to write a bad review. Broken hot tub, broken kiddie pool, employees taking up lounge, mean and extremely rude AM shift cooking at omelet bar (to the point of blatant racism), charged us $20 extra and didn’t tell us until I saw it on my statement. ||The PM shift was great and very helpful except when we needed some peace and quiet from our room and went downstairs to use the lobby. One employee was laying across the couch while the other employee was sitting in the cozy chair. TV was blasting and they weren’t even watching, and when they saw us arrive they just looked at us and kept talking as if the paying customers don’t get priority. It was unprofessional. And when we went out to the car to get some items when we got back the key card at the front door didn’t work. The one employee got up from lounging to open the door and told us to use the west entrance.||Then the AM lady was a real piece of work. She should not work in the service industry if she’s going to be that flat out rude to customers. My husband said hello to her and she just glared at him and said nothing in return. When I went to the lobby, no one was at the omelet station, and since none of the employees wears a name tag or uniform, I had no idea who was actually working that morning, so I rang the bell. Grumpy employee walks up to me and says very curtly “What do you need?!” I apologized and said I didn’t know she was the one working. I asked if I could have an omelet. She scoffed and said “Well?! What do you want on it?!” I replied with my order and she rolled her eyes at me! I actually couldn’t believe it. Then she yelled at me to put my ticket into the bowl. My children were with me and they were actually scared to give her their order. My husband is white and she was nicer to him and actually smiled and laughed and took his order just fine. I am Asian and my son presents as Asian even though he’s mixed. She would not even look at him when he asked her about some missing items at the breakfast bar. I was appalled. We will never stay there again. My oldest daughter was so upset at how Grumpy treated my family. I tried one last time to be polite and to see if it was really just me, so I said thanks and goodbye, and she just glared at me and sipped her drink without saying anything. Something had to be...
Read moreIf “Meh” was a place, it would be this hotel. What it has going for it, is that it was clean and smelled clean for that A+. For everything else C.
Check in was…less than stellar. My wife was the one who checked us in, but it took like 20 minutes. She said during the ordeal she asked about local places to eat, and was told Pizza Hut right across the highway was “like the best ever” and to avoid the local place next door because it was “dark and dingy.”
Once checked in and in our room, it looked straight out of 1995. Dated is an understatement. Again it was clean, but if anything was “dark and dingy” it was this hotel and town. If you are a traveler that needs WiFi for business, the WiFi here was basically useless, as was any cell signal making hotspot basically useless as well.
The pool area was a bright spot in our stay because they have a 1 foot deep pool that is perfect for our toddler, but that being said, this is where I started to notice the signs…there are passive aggressive signs EVERYWHERE. At the pool door “no balls in pool NO EXCEPTIONS” “Please shower BEFORE entering pool.” There was also an electric fan In the pool area which seemed ridiculous unsafe. The pebble floor was coming up all over making walking in the area like traversing the DMZ. The water felt GREAT though. The toddler pool was quite warm. The adult pool was comfortable and not cold. The hot soaker pool was a great temperature and if we didn’t have a toddler, we would’ve loved using it. Another issue is there were no towels in the pool area, and we had to ask the front desk for some.
Upon returning to the room, I noticed more of the signs. I can’t remember what they said now. However while showering post pool, there were only two towels for 3 people which was inconvenient.
In the morning, we attempted to eat breakfast at the hotel. The biscuits were somehow both dry and soggy. The sausage links were AWFUL and tasted like cheap microwaved frozen links. The juice was watered down and barely had flavor. I didn’t even bother with the omelet station because of the passive aggressive signs making another appearance in the breakfast area. I didn’t feel like being yelled at by the crabby looking omelet lady.
I’d skip this place. And honestly the entire...
Read moreThis hotel was rated extremely poor because of the way, I was treated, Talked To, Talked About to Other Guests, Promised A Free Late Check Out, Then I was told I would be Charged $10.00 an hour. I said Betty said a late Check Out was Okay and it would be Free, I was yelled at and told that no one told me that. No one! I stay in Upscale Hotels and Resorts a whole lot and I will always get a Suite. This Suite Room 107 the Heater was so very noisy that I didn’t even get 1- hour of SLEEP. To dispute my accusations all THE HOTEL HAD TO DO, “WAS CHECK IT OUT”! I talked to Heather-Manager, Brittany, Betty, Audrey and the Owner needs to call a Staff Meeting for EVERYBODY! Without us the Customers this Hotel would not EXIST. I cannot believe that anyone would deliberately go out of their way to BE DISRESPECTFUL TO ANY GUESTS. Heather was actually trying to Argue With Me Because I Stated That I Was Told She Wouldn’t Be In Today, But I called in, ANYWAY! Please tell me why she resented me being “TOLD That”? This Hotel gives a NEW MEANING TO “BUYER BEWARE “! I wrote this Review because People from outside Russell needs to be made aware that Customer Service is OUT of the Question at this Hotel. This will never be a Upscale hotel with these kind of Front...
