We booked our 13Jun2024 reservation on 25Apr.
As we were driving from Denver, through the Smokey Valley Scenic Bypass, and visiting Shiloh Vineyards in Wakeeney, we were running a bit later than expected, so we called at 4:30pm to confirm we were definitely coming. The clerk was very polite, even providing the exit number. -But said NOTHING about what we would face when we would arrive at our room. Despite my husband's knee injury we mentioned, we opted for the upstairs room she offered because the 1st floor room was pet friendly, and we are allergic.
Some 1 1/2 to 2 hr later we arrived, and checked in with the same very courteous clerk, who again didn't mention the condition of our room. We go up the stairs with luggage (to limit the number of trips up the stairs to find that the window of our room is boarded up. Going outside,we find it is one of several boarded up and covered with now tattered plastic sheeting. -Clearly this condition had happened weeks ago (the next morning the mgr confirmed it had been 3 to 4 weeks earlier). We go downstairs to ask if the clerk was aware she put us in a boarded up room and she admitted that she was. We asked about another room and this time she said that the only one upstairs is a pet friendly room, and the only non-pet friendly was downstairs. (Not what we were told when we first chose to take the upstairs room.) The hailstorm was an Act of God, but clearly we could have been notified 1- during the 3 weeks Before our arrival, 2- when we called 1 1/2 hr before arrival, or 3- when we arrived to check in and hadn't yet had to drag luggage upstairs.
The next morning, the manager offered nothing but excuses for the window and a verbal apology for the inconvenience.
(I have photos of the window -interior and exterior, if you give me an address to send them to.)
The bottom of the toilet lid had not been cleaned, there were no towel bars anywhere in the room. The bed was very comfortable and the walls freshly painted though.
This is absolutely the worst experience we've had at a Quality Inn.

Stayed at this location over the weekend and if I could rate a place with zero stars this would be that time! We paid just under $200 for these two nights. Not only was the front desk rude when we checked in after driving 7+ hrs to get there but she was not informative like most places to let us know where our room was, what time check out was, when breakfast was, etc. After getting to the room that smelt like straight dog poop we noticed our microwave was broken, our sink was broken, the bathroom had pubic hair all over and what looked like old vomit in the bathtub. We had only one small bar of soap offered by the sink that had a hairdryer with a broken cord, and the Kleenex box holder empty, broken, and sticking out (which my toddler easily could have cut her finger on). The beds had very small flat pillows and sheets that were stained yellow in multiple locations. During the stay i told the cleaning lady id like new towels ( they were stained and dirty looking) and our bedding changed while she was in the hallway and she was very nice and said she would. Although when we returned that evening the same towels were folded back up and stacked and the bedding was still the same. When I went to tell the front desk the next morning she said nothing was broken like that when we got there... (Right). Their "continental breakfast" was comprised of old danishes and freezer burnt egg burritos you could warm yourself. I was so disgusted by this location I spent as little time in the rooms as possible and refused to even shower there. When I went to check out the next morning and speak with a manager of course there was nobody to be found and a small bucket that said "drop your key here to check out" I'm sure that is due to the complaints they probably receive after people stay the night there. All in all I would rate this the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at and we...

The owner upon check in does not inform you of any deposit. Deposits are fine but I want to be informed of them. I stay in hotels 15 nights a month and deposits can rack up. Especially when they are used by losers like this location. They tell you they need a card on file for “incidentals”. Then they put a hold on your card for $100 without telling you or you agreeing to it. On top of that, they do not remove this hold at check out. They just let it stand until your bank drops it a week later. This is a deceptive business practice which means these people are not to be trusted.
Furthermore, the surrounding business are awful. 24/7 travel stop is the most egregiously over priced travel stop in the country by far!! Not even close! I have seen cheaper prices in NYC and LA at most of their convenience stores. The only food available outside of that is a a McDonald’s.
Their breakfast is cheap and trash even for a quality inn. They have no eggs, bacon, or sausage. They put a little gravy and five biscuits in a pan. They do have a waffle maker. That’s about it. Terrible deceptive business practices along with the local business proximity and terrible breakfast combine for a cumulative reaso. To never stay at this hotel. Keep on to Hays or Salina depending on which way...
