Do you want a magical and mystical Caribbean experience? Then this is your place to stay! I have been traveling the Caribbean islands for over 20 years, being the Explorer that I am, my motto is "Never the same island twice". I have never stayed in such a relaxing, beautiful, and peaceful place before. (This place could convince me otherwise). The Waves literally sits right on the water's edge. Walking into my room just blew me away! The Sea was right there, waves crashing right below me! Sitting on the comfortable porch was like being on a boat. I love small venues without the big resort hype and noise. If you seek the same, you will also be excited to stay there. The beautiful Cane Bay Beach is out your front door. The restaurant AMA was a unique experience too. Sitting right on the grotto with the waves crashing up to the restaurant. The food was delicious, the wine and drink selection were extensive, and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. They are always crowded as people (including locals) from around the island go there for dinner, so be sure to make a reservation. The website's pictures are consistent with the bohemian feel of the room. The staff were always helpful. Room 4 is fabulous! A large corner unit with surrounding windows. Note: There is not an elevator, so if you are on the second floor you have to carry your luggage up the stairs. I was fortunate because when I arrived, Tom the Maintenance Man, was around and swiftly carried them up the stairs for me. If you plan to use the kitchen, go to the grocery store near the airport before you arrive, as there is not a large store nearby. For unique food and excellent wine selection shop at the Seaside Market & Deli. Make sure to sail to Buck Island with Big Beard! A great experience and secret hide-a-way BBQ location! If you are a Yacht Club member with reciprocals, visit the St. Croix Yacht Club. Beautiful view of Buck Island, fun members and delectable food! The Landing Restaurant right down the road from The Waves has great fish tacos and an extensive menu, sitting on Cane Bay beaches' edge. Enjoy your stay! It was fabulous! Thanks to everyone at The Waves who make that...

The Wave: A Perfect Stay in St. Croix The Wave hotel truly met and exceeded our expectations. Our room, with its full kitchen and stunning ocean view, was spectacular—extremely clean, comfortable, and inviting. Tom greeted us for check-in, which was super easy and quick, and he remained readily available for anything we needed throughout our stay.

The hotel's own AMA restaurant and the Sunset Lounge are excellent dinner options if you prefer to dine on-site. Just be sure to check their hours, as they're not open every day.

Exploring St. Croix from Cane Bay Most tourists split their time in St. Croix between Frederiksted and Christiansted. The Wave, located in Cane Bay, is conveniently situated in between, approximately 30 minutes from both towns. You'll definitely need a rental car, and we highly recommend a Jeep given that road conditions aren't always the best.

Beyond the hotel's restaurants, Cane Bay itself offers three additional beach restaurants and, occasionally, a food truck that serves amazing breakfasts. Cane Bay beach is also a great spot to spend the day right near the hotel. Our other favorite beaches were West Beach and Rainbow Beach in Frederiksted, and Mermaid Beach near Christiansted. We visited several others, but these were our top picks.

For dining out, we enjoyed spectacular chicken nachos at Louie and Nacho's, and an excellent brunch at Caroline's. We found that Christiansted generally has more dining options than Frederiksted.

Our Recommendation In summary, if you're looking for a peaceful, beautiful, romantic, and beachfront retreat, we highly recommend The Wave. Next time, we'll definitely take advantage of the kitchen and stock up on groceries, especially...

Words are not going to be enough for this review. My husband and I booked a room here for our honeymoon. From their photos and other reviews, as well as their social media, this seemed like the best fit.

That was an understatement.

We have never stayed somewhere so incredibly amazing. We're not just talking about the room and the view either. The entire staff from housekeeping to management were so kind and helpful

Jill the property manager is one amazing human. She made sure we were taken care of for our entire trip. She made us feel welcome and at home. We really appreciate everything she did for us and how easy she was to contact. On our second day there she jumped into the sea to save a baby bird. So she's an absolute angel. We'd honestly just come back for Jill alone.

Our room had a large kitchen that came complete with cookware. We had fresh coffee every morning and it made our life so much easier to have everything we needed without having to buy anything for the kitchen except for the food.

The view. THE VIEW. I will never forget our balcony and falling asleep to the sound of waves every night. It was like something out of a fairytale. Our room was so beautiful and modern and has inspired us to redo our bedroom at home.

The hotel was private, quiet and so safe. The perfect spot to get away and relax without being completely isolated from everyone and everything. The walk to the beach was only a few short minutes away. Side note, go to the beach at night for amazing stargazing on clear nights.

I could go on for hours about how amazing this place is, but you should really go and find out for yourself.

We will be back soon. Thank you for being the place that made our...

The Waves Cane Bay is more like a cheap roadside motel. I don’t know how they have so many 5 star reviews. We had a massive roach infestation in our room. The room wasn’t all that clean upon our arrival and unfortunately we were in room 9 which is directly over the AMA restaurant. The view was partially blocked by the restaurant roof and the lights and noise from the restaurant were obnoxious. The room had little insulation so we could also hear the road noise all night. The road leading to Cane Bay was atrocious and I wouldn’t want to drive it at night either. Walking to the beach was slightly treacherous as there were areas with little to no shoulder. The worst part were the roaches. They came out of every nook and cranny. I killed at least 25-30 of them before I called the emergency #. The maintenance man came in our room and was stomping them with us as well. There were roach baits inside the dirty cabinets, so that should have been a red flag. The hotel manager was a bit difficult to deal with when we advised her we were leaving and asked for a refund for the remaining nights. We had to sit in her office while she tried to get hold of her manager. I ended up recording the conversation she had with the owner to give us a refund and about 1/2 later she called and said he wasn’t authorized and she couldn’t actually issue a refund. I had to go back to the office to play the recording (that she didn’t know about) in order to get my money back. It was beyond shady. I would never stay at this hotel again, or any hotel owned by this company. There are many great places to stay in St Croix and I highly recommend looking at hotels on the east end.

My biggest regret of our trip to St. Croix is that we didn’t stay at The Waves when we first got there. It may be a little costlier than other resorts around the island, but the attention to detail, decor, and friendly staff make this place my top pick of the island. The restaurant attached serves great cuisine for dinner and has a very pleasant atmosphere. The servers and bartenders were all great and it’s great seeing them all help each other out. Like a close-knit family. The owner was very pleasant and was direct when there was a small issue with the water system. She must have connections because it was fixed shortly after and nothing happens that fast on the island. The location is a stones throw from at least 3 other restaurants and is centralized enough to get to Fsted or CSted if you’d like. Every room in that boutique hotel has a wonderful view, so you can’t go wrong in choosing which one you’d like to stay in. The room was absolutely stunning. It was sparkling clean and was well equipped. The balcony was comfortable and spacious enough for a morning yoga session with mats that are also equipped in the room. My only complaint is that the walls are a little thin, so I apologize to our neighbors if they heard us having an amazing time!
