I booked a modest, clean, king room at the most reasonable hotel in St. Peters. I like booking older hotels, because they usually come with a tub, and I love to take spiritual baths and soak in epsom salts to treat my body pain. I was within walking distance of the Dierbergs, Dollar Store, and Walgreens, which was nice because I don’t have a car.
When I complained to the manager Satisha about the defective drain plug in my room and asking for a replacement, he explained that most patrons wanted showers. They had none, but that if I found one he would reimburse me. I found a solution, and I was able to soak relaxing in the tub even twice a day.
The facilities are older, but the place was kept very clean, and my bed was a bit soft but comfortable. I was able to celebrate my 60th birthday alone with a pleasant hermit retreat and blessed by a private view of a lake abutting the nearby golf community. Breakfasts were modest, free, with plenty of coffee. Best of all, I had enough privacy and quiet that I was able to record three soon-to-be hit songs for my new album, “Year of the Wood Snake,” and take a photo for my album cover right from my room using my own art.
Thank you to Mr. Satisha, his family, and staff for making this a pleasant stay. Believe me when I say that I was once a Hilton Diamond Club member and why I am no more. Those who have diamond club, elitist expectations learn that cynicism and negativity gets results in life, and those with a positive attitude are often met by those front desk clerks with fake smiles and snobby sarcasm. I refuse to pay for that.
I appreciate human staff members who treat their patrons with respect and dignity, even when they are threatened and targeted by resentful, elitist clientele. I have learned to be grateful and focus on the little blessings God gives us. We must all learn to shine our light for others.
Thank you, Mr. Satisha for a pleasant, peaceful, and reasonably-priced respite. I wish you and your blossoming family the best.

Read moreFalse advertisement. The hotel and the room look nothing like the photos. it was filthy and I felt unsafe. The lobby and room reeked of cigarettes and the bedding had burns/ holes where cigarettes were put out on the beds. (I did have 'non smoking' on my reservation.)The door would not lock. The walls and floors were grimy and the bathroom was disgusting. Mind you my reservation was for me, my 1 year old child, and my 5 week old baby. The cigarette linger was so bad that my lungs started to feel scratchy after 5 minuets in the room. I also felt not safe at all. Again, it was one woman by herself with 2 very small children. Upon arrival there were people hanging around the parking lot who were acting creepy. Walking in there was one man working. While checking me in I would ask a question or say something and he wouldn't answer, he was just staring at me. He was acting very strange and the way he was looking at me made me super uncomfortable. After I checked in I walked into the room (hoping the room would be cleaner than the lobby) and walked right back out after 5 minuets of looking around. I decided to leave and have my kids and I sleep on my mom's living room floor rather than this place. As I left my room the same employee was standing around in the hallway outside my room (Which didn't lock). He was just standing there staring and watched me walk back down to the lobby without saying anything. I walked straight out the building to find someone parked next to my car with their car hood up and jumper cables attached. They claimed they'd been there a long time and needed help. Me being alone with kids and knowing they in fact had not been there more than 10 minuets got straight in my car to leave. As I tried to leave the lot, multiple men were standing in a line blocking me from the exit. After waiting about a minuet.. 2 more men started walking up behind my car. I started going forward and didn't stop. They got out of the way and I left. I never came back and checked out online. When I reserved the room I payed full price and they were clear- no refund. I...
Read moreThe property is tucked behind the El Mezon Mexican Restaurant off 70 and I-79(salt lick road), so be sure to turn into the gas station at the light and go behind the restaurant. I'm from the St Charles area, so I knew how to access the property, but some may find it tricky, so I'm letting you know.
The hotel is convenient to I-70, probably a minute away, and Mid Rivers Mall is the next exit up towards St Charles. Historic St Charles is about 15 minutes away, and St Louis is probably a 30 minute drive.
El Mezon has excellent food and good prices by the way as my relative and I have eaten there several times.
The front entrance is clean of cigarette butts, etc.
The lobby and dining area are clean and welcoming.
Check in was smoothe and staff was professional and friendly.
My room was comfortable, with plenty of cable channels, and it had either a queen or king bed.
It was tastefully furnished.
The carpet could probably use a cleaning, but it didn't bother me.
It's a two story building, and I don't believe there's an elevator, so I'm assuming they put disabled individuals with mobility problems on the first floor.
If you don't want to have to walk a short ways to the second floor, be sure to request a first floor room.
After checking out, I thought to myself,, "I've got to give this place a good review", so here it is.
I gave this property an excellent review on Trip Advisor and with Hotwire as well. I also called Wyndham corporate in New Jersey and let them know what a pleasant stay I had.
I would recommend this property and...
