My building was being tented for termites, so I had to find lodging for 3 days. This was not a vacation. I will never stay here again. WiFi is extremely weak and rarely works. ALL 4 ice machines are broken; no ice in the entire motel. There were ants and silverfish in my room. I was told at check-in there's a $60 deposit; (in addition to room fees) which I was not informed of ahead of time. They do not take credit cards over the phone, it must be in person. Apparently only the staff that work the front desk speak English. All others just give you a blank stare when you ask them a question. When I asked the front desk for help with some of these issues (no ice, ants in the room etc.) all I get is the typical response, "I'm sorry sir." Well fix it! Quit apologizing and just fix it. I had to go to Lowe's and buy ant traps and just took care of the problem myself. What kind of motel/hotel doesn't have ice? And stay tuned for more fun as they are going to start charging a nightly parking fee for guests. Just an added note: I've been informed that the county of San Diego has removed Motel 6 from their approved list. They will no longer provide vouchers for homeless or near homeless persons because the motel refuses to accept credit cards over the phone to pay for the deposit. I know because it happened in real time during my stay to a friend of mine. So congratulations Motel 6, you just lost a HUGE source of annual revenue because of your stupid policy. People buy things over the phone with their credit cards all the time; so what's your problem Motel 6?

False advertising! Do not go to this Motel 6. I booked a room and on their website it shows nice rooms and how the property looks like, but it is all false! They copied pictures from other Motel 6 's and the rooms are EXTREMELY filthy and could not sleep due to drug activity (actually seen it ) and prostitution going on right next door to our unit. DO not go here! Definitely if you have children. People were coming in all times throughout the night. I posted the conditions of what our room looked liked. The last picture is what made me choose this motel as the room looked really nice and clean. I have to post a star (if I could, I wouldn't) but have no choice. To add to this post, a person from the hotel wanted to reach out to me and I did, weeks ago. No RESPONSE back. Still working with corporate to see if this Motel 6 can be further investigated due to false advertising. I even have the BBB involved in this as well. DON'T GO HERE! Very filthy and nasty!

the floor was sticky and the room was completely dusty , smelly and not clean , I found blood 🩸 spots on the cover of pillow also you would expect for $200 a night the room would have been at least 10 times better than it was. Bathtub look dirty and stain holes in the furniture overall just real bad staying , the guy at the reception his name is “ Evan “ is very unfriendly, unprofessional and unpleasant in talking with me , it is not worth even 10 USD , guys it is very dangerous unhealthy place !!! And must be closed we don’t need a new pandemic, blood on the pillow and bed , OMG !!, one more thing , many credit and debit cards is not working over there , you need to go to the closest ATM to withdraw money and it is 10 min walk, that happened with me and others as well , I noticed that it happened with other residents as well when I was waiting at the reception, their system is very very bad

DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL!!! Worse & Most Unsafe Experience I've every had at a motel

We picked a room near the pool as the thought this would be great to be able to duck out to the pool But for the 5 Days and 4 nights we stayed we never used the pool as we where not able to leave our room once we returned from our daily bookings at Parks zoo etc

The reason for this was due to the unsafe environment and to be honest the pool did not look clean at one point there was shoes in there

Firstly the room was dirty, mold in the bathroom, the floors where disgusting and made your feet gross and this is within 5 mins of walking in the room, the bathrooms shower curtin we had to clean before using and dirt just ran off it when cleaning, toilet seat was broken and our fridge was leaking water on the inside

Then the unsafe and horrific environment, another guest the one next door to us was outside every 2 mins slamming their door yelling, singing loudly, talking loudly and playing loud music, our room was joined to theirs, with a door in which we ensured we had dead bolted and we had a chair on the door to hear if someone come through it and a towel on the floor of the door for nothing to come under the door

The police turned up at the motel at 1am to the guest next door as someone else had called them, and the guest then after getting rid of the police continued to do the above and you could hear them doing illegal things within the room as they where not quiet about it at all and then decided to start playing very loud music from 4am and making loud phone calls to people

You could not approach this person at all

Each morning we walked out we had to ensure we took everything with us, to our park booking etc just incase our room was broken into as people where always outside our room lurking and watching us enter and leave our room, we got no sleep and our room was only cleaned or serviced once and this was the first night only

Each time we come back to the room we had to order in food as there is nothing close by for food etc and once you where in for the night you didn't want to leave, even more so when dark, the traffic of people was non-stop and the activities that where happening and what you could hear and smell was not good

I will never stay at this motel every again

You will be lucky to get a Uber from here as well and we where advised this by our Uber driver when leaving they advised that we were lucky they looked at where we where going (the airport) and not the Motel that we where getting picked up from as he wouldn't of taken the job at all if he did, as he has advised that the reason for this is due to the Hotel Motel next door now has been opened up as a illegal Immigration Housing and then they are filtering out people to the Motels around them which has had some Uber drivers receive some unsafe rides and has created the unsafe environment

We did not go to staff about the issues as we had been warned that if you complain or bring up issues you will either have stuff taken from your room, you will not receive your $60 deposit back or other things may happen and with the already unsafe environment we didn't want to risk anything at all and just ride it out the nights and get out of there

When we booked there was amazing reviews but we didn't look at them before we got there or closer to our booking which you should always do as things change very quickly as you will see from the other comments below

We would have moved Motels but we had already stayed a night and was not going to get a refund

If I could do a minus stars I would we have taken pictures of all the issues and concerns and will be sending this to the head of the company as...

My overall experience with this Motel 6 was good to excellent. It was Memorial day weekend and most places were booked or way over priced and expensive. Motel 6 was the most affordable and had availability. I was in room (115). The customer service is excellent. The 4 people that gave the best and exceptional service at the front desk were Chay, Brandon, Bobby and Edwina. They were very friendly, nice, professional and prompt with the service, even going out of there way to help me and even give me information on places I can visit in the area (since I was from out of town). Chay was the 1st person I spoke to when checking to see if my online reservation went through and she was extremely professional, helpful, very friendly and she tried her best to accommodate me with correcting an issue I had. The 1 thing that went wrong was getting double charged because the person at the front and my boyfriend did not pay attention when we were checking in. So we had to spend time trying to get a hold of are third party booking company and get someone to help refund the money (which we eventually got back but not for 7 business days) and that took 45 minutes to an hour. That was the only negative. Aside from that it was great. Then Brandon was so kind and so helpful, very very professional. I needed to check in earlier and he did his very best to try and get me the 1st available room (he called me when it was ready). Even the house keeping staff was nice, especially Sandra who quickly came and cleaned my room when I last minute decided to have my bathroom cleaned. She finished a few other rooms then came to mine and quickly cleaned the whole room and told me not to worry about it because I kept apologizing. I found her to be a sweet, kind, hardworking and humble woman. Then when I was checking out I spoke to Bobby and Edwina at the front desk. When I called the front desk to ask a question, it was Bobby who answered and he was very friendly, upbeat, sweet and delivered great customer service. He along with Edwina went above and beyond. They spoke with me for about 10 minutes while still handling there other customers and asked me if I had plans for the day. They told me about places I may not want to go to because it was Memorial day and the beaches would be crowded. They gave me an itinerary the company already had typed up of places, restaurants nearby to visit and...

Not a particularly good experience this year. We don't have super high expectations of Motel Six generally...it is a basic room. We usually book Motel Six as a lower cost alternative when travelling and we always book this particular one for an annual vacation in San Diego during which prices are significantly raised (pretty much doubled) because of the demand around the event we attend. We usually ask to be put in the front building but were put in the back building this year for some reason. Sorry, but I can only describe it as a dump. We were on the fourth floor in a non-smoking room. The ground floor locked door sometime locked and sometimes did not. When we first checked in, that door was not locked. We had just finished a two hour drive and were urgently in need of using the restroom in the room. We got all the way up to the fourth floor and halfway down the hall to our room to find that our key card did not work. I went all the way back to the office and was told "yeah, sorry, that happens a lot". Armed with new keys, we got in. Halfway into our stay, we arrived at the room with arms full of shopping and, again, neither key would work. Had to hoof it to the office again and get new ones. Carpeting on the luggage dollies was virtually black with filth. The room did not get cleaned the first day, so we had to ask for towels and toilet paper. I might have missed that you have to ask...don't know. In our non-smoking room, the smell of tobacco smoke was evident in some spots. The hallway outside was constantly smelling of people smoking pot in their rooms...I guess non-smoking doesn't apply to pot. The smell was there around the clock as it does not dissipate with the poor air circulation in that hallway. WiFi kept disconnecting causing us to use a lot more phone data than we should have. Elevator was filthy with pumpkin seeds and other debris on the floor for at least two days. The toilet handle was barely hanging on and seemed like it would detach at any moment. We travel the world and have seen a lot of third world lodging...this reminded us of some of those stays. We usually recommend this facility to others attending the same event every year. Definitely not a good experience and makes us question whether to rebook next year or seek a better...
