I'm a 74 year old disable veteran who had a recent total knee replacement 4 weeks ago. After coming home from the hospital, I realized I couldn't get out of a chair because of the impairment I had with my other leg. I decided I needed a power lift chair to assist me to get up and down from a chair, as well as to sleep in because of not being able to get out of bed. Calling American Medical, they had a chair for me for the amount of $499/month plus tax, but were not able to deliver to me when I needed it, so I had to go through a 3rd party delivery service which was more expensive. Now that the month is about over and still needing the chair for a little longer, I called to find out about extending the usage of the chair for another week or two. I would think that being I already would have had the chair for a month, they would just pro-rate the week or two. I was wrong, they want $275 for one week or $375 for two weeks, and now is going to charge me $95 to pick up the chair. If I wanted to purchase the chair, it would cost over $3,000. What a rip-off! I could purchase a lift chair compatible or better for a third of the price with free delivery. As much as they say the the reason for it being so expensive is, that it's the Lexus of the chairs. Truth is, this chair's functions have not been to my satisfaction, nor comfortable to sleep in without having to wake up several time during the night to readjust my position. I am leaving this review because, if you are in need of any medical equipment that is not covered by medicare of any insurance, this company will be one who's interest is to gauge...

So I have to come on here because I rented a medical grade lifting reclining chair. I got a quote called to confirm my quote and when I arrived, the price has changed without any notification the manager Maria was very aggressive towards me when I called her out the sudden change she threw on that she was rude and aggressive due having a in heart attack and expected me to just know that she did. I was quite disappointed with the service level I received from the manager. I was also quite disappointed that when I rented my chair, no insurance was offer in case any damage occurred unfortunately I had damaged on the chair due to one of my pets chewing on the cable. Instead of offering us insurance, I was charged in additional $500 to replace the cable which is unheard of so I do not recommend for anyone locally to use this company I retract any previous comments I have made about this company. Horrible service, no able to return items once purchase and extremely over priced. Lastly they need to get rid of the horrible management Maria the front manager. I will never use them EVER again. American Medical and Equipment Supply has been our medica supplier of choice for many years. From renting knee scooters for our kids injuries, purchase an office chair gel cushion that lasted me over 5years. I was looking to buy a cane for myself. I was shown different types of canes and we discussed which would probably be best for me. Tried out several different canes and told don't hurry. Choose what I think would work best for me since they are all different. There are different price points but that shouldn't determine which cane would be best for my purposes. There was no pressure to make my choice.

Maria encouraged me to look over the other products in the store at my leisure. She demonstrated one of the wonderful recliner chairs available. (Who needs to have a handicap to appreciate one of those chairs??)

I had been to a competitor just before visiting your store. I believe that, for me and my friends, your store is far superior. Your product line is better for my needs, your sales associates were better trained, the staff is friendly, there is no pressure to hurry and buy.
