We only went here for a day trip. I didn't even realize it was in the area but we have some family who are locals that recommended we go to Doolittle's and it was so worth it. My young kids had a blast seeing all of the Doolittle's dinosaurs. The dinosaurs were huge and most were in near perfect condition. There were also a lot more dinosaurs than I was expecting and they were spread out in a lot of different places which was great. It was nice that there was both an indoor and outdoor part to see the dinosaurs and there are some rides. The Train Museum, while small compared to others I've been too, was still pretty impressive and it was cool that it was actually in a train car. You can tell those that were part of the displays put a lot of work and detail into everything. There was also an area with animals that my kids loved interacting with. The mini golf course was nice. The Roadside Cafe had great food and very fair prices. There are plenty of different spots available to take pictures. Overall, I think this place is pretty great and I hope it stays in business for many years to come. Very great experience for kids, especially.

This was such a delightful visit! Our party of 4 slept comfortably in the presidential train car, and the staff went above and beyond to make the stay as enjoyable as possible (Lori was the best). The way the suite was set up really made you feel like you were going back to the early 1900s. There were many quality options for meals within the complex, and we enjoyed the heated patio at the boxcar brewery. I'm so very happy we were able to find this gem and will not hesitate to return in the future.

We had the Presidential car booked for the night. We were driving back from Chicago, thought it would be a cute place to stay for the night. I had the car booked, was told latest check in time was 7pm. We got there at 5:30 pm everything was closed. And I mean everything. No one was around. No phone number, no contact. Finally met a guy camping in the back, he had the pizza guys phone number, and he tried to call the guy that handles the booking. And nothing. So after driving 8+ hrs from Chicago 85 deg out, I'm standing in an empty parking lot, with 5+ hrs of drive time to get home. Thankfully there was a Comfort in near by and they had a room for us, saving the day! And still to this day 2 weeks later not even an email from the place apologizing for leaving us standing in the parking lot. I would not recommend Doolittle station for anything. If I could give negative...
