Goshorn Lake Resort — Hotel in Saugatuck Township

We came up to Saugatuck mainly to visit Oval Beach on Lake Michigan but ended up spending more time on the small lake at the resort. Cottage #6 was clean, with nicer beds than I have at home, and a lovely little screened porch to leave our beach stuff in. We contacted the office at check-in for a minor issue and a question, the property manager came by and all was resolved quickly. The boats and kayaks down at Goshorn lake are a nice amenity, and it's so quiet and peaceful out on the lake without the noise of motorboats and jetskis! The pool on site was clean, and heated. First things first. The beds are an absolute deal breaker period. My family of 4 stayed here ages 43, 33, 14, and 9. None of us slept. We were all exhausted every single day from barely sleeping due to the completely worn down old beds. The drive home was dangerous. I went to sleep at 9pm, then slept on the couch to try to get a few hrs of sleep before I woke up at 8am to leave. We have faithfully rented at GLR for 15 years, some years 2-3 times. The last 3 years, there have been issues with worn furniture, cleanliness, dated furnishings. This year, many broken things: screen door, toilet seat, mold in dish washer, tv stand taken out, as was bedroom tv. The only tv was on a side table that used to hold a needed lamp, and the tv was computer monitor sized. Trash now located immediately behind only single easy chair in living room, instead of under the sink, so it smelled. Cindy always took great care that things were right, even dealing with tightfisted condo owners. Quaint cottages has not done as complete a job.
