In a nutshell, South Broadway Manor is the best!!!||||Here's the full story if you're interested: I went to Fallingwater for a girls’ weekend. We had a blast but as I was driving home, I realized my engagement ring was missing... I started to panic because I was driving and couldn’t look for it until I pulled over... so I called my friend who went on the trip with me to ask when she last saw it and I mentally retraced my steps the rest of the drive home until I could go through my photos to pinpoint the moment when I no longer was wearing it and carefully search through my luggage. I considered my muscle memory even and recalled that it felt like my ring was not on during our Sunday morning hike through Bear Run, but I recalled wearing it the day prior. My friend said she remembered seeing me wearing it at dinner on Saturday evening - I confirmed in a photo taken at the falls that I still had it on right before we left Fallingwater and headed towards the restaurant. But even still, it could have been at the gift shop, the visitor’s center, a walking path, the restaurant, the hotel or worse - the gravel parking lot at any of those locations... what a nightmare! 🙀||||I tried not to freak out - I called Patty, the owner of the South Broadway Manor, to let her know what had happened. She was most empathetic - in fact, she and her entire staff were absolutely fantastic in their efforts to locate the ring! She even had the cleaning ladies going through the trash and they let the new guest of the room we stayed in know what had happened so they could keep an eye out for it. The next morning they went over the room with a fine tooth comb and even checked the washing machine that the linens were washed in... but sadly, no luck.||||I called the restaurant and Fallingwater the next day to make them aware but no one had turned anything in and nothing had been found. I had only been wearing it for 3 weeks and thought I was being so careful with it... it was horrible to think I may never see it again so suddenly...||||I got a call Monday afternoon from Pam, Patty’s sister, and she told me they did everything they could to find it but unfortunately it’s just not there. She said their neighbor has a metal detector so they will see if he could use that to help locate it in the gravel parking lot as a last ditch effort. WOW - they are SO AWESOME! 😍||||I continued about my day and later in the afternoon I received another call from Pam. She said, “Today is your lucky day! One of the boys (Terry) found it on his way to work this morning! I don’t have it in hand at the moment but he told Patty that he would return it when he got home.” 🍀🍀🍀 ||||Apparently it was found in the gravel by my friend's car and it fell off when we were taking things up to the room on Saturday night. The temperature had gone from the 90s during the day in Ohio to the 50s that evening in the Pennsylvania mountains which caused the ring to get loose. It wasn’t something I noticed either because I was carrying a bunch of stuff.||||Oh my goodness... I was SO relived at this point and finally allowed myself to break down in tears. I am absolutely shocked this happened in the first place but so thankful that it was resolved the way it was, right after I was starting to give up hope.||||It was promptly mailed back home safe and sound (with insurance) and I have since added it to my homeowner’s insurance policy. I also bought a ring guard on Amazon which is a nifty little accessory that has helped to keep the ring on securely ever since. I also made sure to send the staff a little treat as a thank you present to express my deepest gratitude. ||||I cannot thank everyone at South Broadway Manor enough - they went well above and beyond the call of duty and I am eternally grateful to them! This was probably the best hotel experience I have ever had in my life! ❤️🙏🌿||||I will be sure to come back and highly recommend this lodging accommodation to anyone traveling to Fallingwater / rural Pennsylvania. 💍🏡☕️ In addition to the wonderful friendly service, the rooms are clean, well decorated and very peaceful.||||I’m so pleased to share that this story has a happy...

Read moreMy wife and I stayed the weekend so we could attend a wedding that took place at Greendance Winery. The pictures of the B&B on the website simply do not do justice to the majestic beauty of the mansion that was ours for the weekend.
When we arrived we came up the back entrance which is allowed us to see a nice patio with plenty of chairs and a grill. We use the code that was provided and went in the back door and were greeted with a modern looking butler's pantry. As we rounded the corner into the dining room we were struck with the absolute beauty of this residence. Passing through the dining room we went into the front hallway in which a beautiful staircase leads to the upper floors. The hallway and the dining room both had hard wood paneling and simply were exquisite.
In between each floor there is a landing with large windows that have stained glass and an area to sit. Once we made it to the second floor we found our room, the Crystal Rose room, which has a private half bath and a full bathroom that off of the hallway. Our room was large and just like the photos on the website. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows.
The location was perfect for us to attend the wedding at Greendance Winery, which was only about 10 to 15 minutes away. The wedding was at 5 P.M. which gave us an opportunity to do some site seeing as well. We booked a tour at Frank Loyd Wright's masterpiece, Falling Water. It took us about 45 minutes to drive there and we had a really nice visit. After spending a little over an hour at Falling Water, we then we headed to the 911 Memorial. The Memorial was about 40 to 50 minutes away from Falling Water which is about the same distance from the B&B. The Memorial is not complete yet and we intend to return in the spring.
There was one snafu during our stay, the air conditioning went out on the second floor. I mistakenly thought that the the second floor was not fully air conditioned and never called to notify them that there was an issue. Unfortunately it was over 90 degrees that day and made the first night uncomfortable. We were able to open a window and the room had a fan which allowed us to be able to sleep. The next day I received an unsolicited text from Pat apologizing for the air conditioning issue and letting us know it had been taken care of.
You will also not that the website States that the breakfast is continental. The have fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea and other items you would expect. However, if you are seeking a full breakfast to there is a little spot called Wise's that is fantastic. We had breakfast there Saturday, Wise's is closed on Sunday, and I had bacon, eggs and toast for $4.60 and it was great food at an unbelievable price. (Wise's is a small "hole in the wall type dinner and is on South Broadway and is within walking distance)
Overall this is a great place to stay and I wish we would have had more time just to hangout in the residence. It is a true jewel and should not be missed and we intend to return with friends...
