Room was booked as part of a travel package for a music event at the mountain. Check-in was 3pm, event’s doors open at 4, you would think they would anticipate a lot of people descending on the property at the same time. Many of the rooms were not ready at 3, leaving a large group of travelers stuck in a warm lobby or in line out the door in the hot sun. Instead of bringing out pitchers of water, or some token of appreciation for the wait, the woman at the desk just attempted to avoid eye contact with everyone. When we it was our turn to check in, the clerk told us that the room was not ready, it would be about 15 minutes, to sit off to the side and she will call us over as soon as it’s ready so we don’t have to go through the line again. After about 20 minutes, my husband checked with her and she replied “Oh, yeah, it’s ready.” Who knows how long we would have sat there if he didn’t check back? ||They only had enough keys to give out 1 per room. The electronic key through the app does not work at this facility. The key stopped working, and when we went down, the woman in front of him had a disabled key too.||The alternative side entrance next to the elevator broke down, so everyone had to go around through the lobby. I wonder if that’s a fire code violation in case of a need to evacuate?||The restaurant is closed, and the “continental breakfast” is a rolling cart full of gas station-style faire. ||The room was not clean. It did not look vacuumed. There were strangers finger prints all over the ice bucket lid. There was black mold and obvious water damage on the ceiling in the bathroom, likely due to no exhaust fan. We started with an empty roll of toilet paper, facial tissue box was out too. There was a little dorm fridge on the floor right in the middle of the path to the bathroom, we moved it right away because it was surely something we would fall over getting up in the night to use the bathroom. There was a letter telling us they are not performing housekeeping during our stay because of Covid and to leave trash and dirty linens outside the door and to call the desk to request more. ||I have stayed many nights at hotels in the same price range for concerts and my kids travel team sports. I don’t expect a ton, but this place can do...
Read moreI travel a fair amount, and normally try to stay in Starwood properties if possible. I was happy to find this one recently opened. But was disappointed to only have an average stay at best. I stayed two nights, once a weeknight, once a weekend night 5 days later. Both stays had similar experiences. The beds were great, as others have said. Definitely lived up to the Four Points brand. The lobby and restaurant were tastefully decorated and comfortable. Breakfast was quite good, and very reasonably priced for the quantity and quality. And it is fairly close to the airport too. Internet was fast and reliable. But the rest of the stay wasn't so great. This is a refurbished hotel, not a new one, so bathrooms are small (but functional, no issues). Bathroom doors can be sticky (in both rooms I stayed in). Maintenance isn't great - ice machines on several floors were out of order for both stays. Clocks in both rooms were significantly off from current time, and pretty much impossible to re-set (didn't work correctly). First stay had the expected two bottles of free water (I'm a gold member), second stay only had one in room. Neither time was I given a room close to what I requested - and typically at Starwood properties I've stayed at the last few years, my requests were honored since I'm a gold member. I don't always get upgrades, and I'm fine with that - I know it just depends on availability - but at least my request for quiet rooms away from elevators have been honored, and both stays I was put right by elevator. The first night, the hotel was barely half full - second night was busy and I could understand less rooms available. Staff never acknowledged my gold status - again certainly not a big deal, but not typical of a Starwood property. Bathrooms weren't perfectly clean either - nothing gross, just not as I would have expected. Bottom sheets on beds were only half on the bed. Overall, I think the staff still need to get in the "Starwood" groove at this hotel. So - summary? It's an ok hotel at best and ok value. You'll have a good rest and good food, but there's nothing outstanding about this hotel either, and not quite up to the par I expect from a Four Points compared to others I've stayed at...
Read moreI must admit that the entrance, lobby, pool, restaurant, bar and main part of the hotel room were very nice; great bed (comfortable, clean, and I slept great), big screen TV, spacious bedroom, clean, attractive. The issue we had was that the first room we checked into had messed up bed linens/covers...didn't look unused and ready for new visitors. So, they moved us to another room. This room was fine, as far as the bed linens and overall cleanliness. However, the bathroom in both rooms (and I presume all regular rooms...maybe not in the suites, if they had any) was the SMALLEST I HAVE EVER SEEN IN ANY HOTEL, including the cheapest hotels at a fraction the cost of this one. It was so small you had to close the door to sit on the toilet. And there was no way two people could even stand in the bathroom at the same time. You couldn't open the bathroom door if someone was in the bathroom, without their carefully maneuvering to get out of the way of the door opening, and you had to close the door to use the bathroom, at all, e.g., someone could not sit on the toilet, with a second person in the bathroom, say trying to stand at the sink...no room!!! This was just plain weird and stupid considering all the space in the bedroom. They should have given at least a couple more feet to the bathroom and less to the bedroom. But the big problem was our sink would not drain. Couldn't wash your face, as the sink rapidly filled up and would not drain. We called the front desk three times about it, as they supposedly sent someone the first two times (we left the room for dinner and shopping), who presumably "fixed" the sink, but when we got back used it again it had the exact same problem. Finally, on our third call, it was almost midnight, we were going to bed and did not want anyone else coming to our room to attempt a third try at fixing the sink, we just requested a refund on the room. To the hotel's credit, they didn't charge us for the room. But I would not return...too many problems. Also talked with other guests who said the service was terrible, e.g., they didn't even get their room cleaned daily. As we only stayed 1 night, I do not known if we would have had daily maid...
