ASIAN TASTE WENG — Restaurant in Scranton

First thing you saw when walking in was an old cleaning rag on top of one of the tables. Clue #2 -- when you go to order they want cash as payment by adding at 4% surcharge to debit or credit payments (lady at the counter blames her machine set up). This leads me to believe that someone isn't paying their taxes properly, and God knows I pay mine. The irony of all this is that in my opinion the food is actually quite good! My pork dumplings were in a much lighter wrapping than I'm used to which made them tastier with the dipping sauce. Eggdrop soup was not your typical bowl of water with a chicken bouillon in it, and the General's Chicken was really tasty. They're really bad with food substitutions. In my combo plate they wouldn't swap out the eggroll for a soup, as I don't eat the eggroll. Food wise they get 4-5 stars but because of mishaps during my visit it brings them down to 1 star. Tried this place for the first time, and it was terrible, I should have known better when I placed the order and I asked how long, the lady said (TEN MINUTES!!!) that was a red flag, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I order chicken and broccoli, chicken wings and shrimp lo mein. Upon picking up the food, noticed that the Chicken Wings were (Discolored) You know, like old (Chicken) not (FRESH), no spice, just dry. The chicken and broccoli was unflavored, no delicious brown gravy, lots of oil in the bottom and the rice, was hard and (NOT FRESH). The LO MEIN, ah man, I'm done, this is what (10 Minutes Gets You). Tonight, 12/31/2021 we decided to enjoy some Chinese takeout from Asian Taste on Meadow Ave. We’ve ordered from there on many occassions with no issues. Unfortunately tonights choices were tasteless & essentially inedible. Also, their ‘false advertisement’ of ‘King Crab’ was disgusting imitation crab (poor imitation being the operative words). So as a former restaurant owner & rather than blast them in social media, I called to tell them of our dissatisfaction so they could check to see if there was an issue they weren’t aware of to correct it.
