The Inn is what you expect from a motel in any of the Jersey Beach towns- old, but it is charming. This is definitely the place you want to stay if you are a drinker,as there are several bars on property and a liquor store around the back. The pool is awesome. The MAJOR complaint that I and everyone else I talked to has? The mattresses. These are THE absolutely worse mattresses that I have ever slept on, and that includes a 90s Bates Motel we stayed at enroute to Niagra Falls Canada back in 1995. That place was just scary, but at least the mattress wasn't plywood. These mattresses are clearly the original mattresses from when the Sea Isle Inn first opened. They are stiff, the box spring has seen its last day 20 years ago, friends said theirs literally buckled in the middle. I mean, if you're going to keep mattresses and not replace them every 10-20 years, at least get some 3" mattress pads to try to siften the blow to your knees when you go to sit on it, otherwise you may tear a meniscus. Unfortunately businesses like this know they can save their money on these types of upgrades because during the summer months, people will pay top dollar to sleep on concrete if that's all that's available and motels are an inexpensive choice for a couple or 2 friends as opposed to a larger condo for so much more money. The Inn also didn't offer much more than a bed and room. There was no hair dryer (which I needed, as I was down here for a wedding!), no iron, bathroom essentials, no microwave (I believe, there were different room options to get one). So be prepared with packing heavy! The Inn overall was decent, it's taken care of and you have everything close by-beach, food store, drug store, food options & good coffee. They should REALLY consider upgrading those mattresses. It is time!! You are making money hand over fist, now give back to those that put that money in...
Read moreAWFUL! JUST AWFUL! My mother and I needed a break and thought it would be ynice to spend a few days here. Before booking the room we were told we would be able to use the pool and grab beach tags before check in because we are unable to check in til 2pm. ||||Well, we got in at 11:30, and shocker, no one was at the reception. The door was locked with a note saying “open at 2pm”. Ok, well what about what we were told? So we were unable to grab beach tags and we couldn’t use the pool til 2pm! So we are not happy and speak with the woman at reception when we get there. Maria was very nice and said we could use the pool the next day even though we were checking out at 11. (Pool doesn’t open til 12pm mind you) ||||We go to use the pool the next day and we were told by a very rude Staff Member we weren’t allowed because we checked out already. Even when we mentioned the woman the day before said we could and explained the situation. We spoke to the owner and she still wouldn’t allow us in after we waited around til 12pm when it opened. Apparently there are COVID Rules in place. Amazing how they adhere to these COVID Rules when using an empty pool BUT not at their bar we attended the night before which was completely packed!!!! No Social Distancing Rules in Place whatsoever! Wouldn’t be surprised if everyone caught COVID. ||||There is a reason this hotel is empty during high season!!! Oh and if you think you’re getting a nice renovated room, guess again! Putting a new cheap floor in a room doesn’t make it renovated. Everything else is still the same! ||||So needless to say, what we wanted more than anything was a nice getaway in the midst of all this chaos. What we got was a terrible stay and dealt with rude staff!...
Read moreThis establishment charged my 71 year old mother $300/night to stay in a room that had black spots on the bathroom ceiling, an extremely loud air conditioner in the main room, an extremely old bathroom with a shower nozzle that blasts in a hundred directions, and no Wi-Fi. She was told there is only Wi-Fi in the main office. She was ALSO charged $10 when she requested to have a hair dryer for the room.
So apparently $300 doesn’t include Wi-Fi or a hair dryer.
In addition, walking from the bedroom into front room is about a distance of 20 ft. In that time, my feet became brown from the dirt on the floor.
So apparently $300 doesn’t include a clean floor either.
We also had a hard time sending and receiving text messages and phone calls with all of our cell services while in the hotel room. So Wi-Fi could have helped there.
The place is a dump. Atlantic City doesn’t charge $300/night.
I was told the Sea Isle Mayor own’s this establishment by a local last night? Is this true?
Must be a nice place business to launder money through I guess. Please...
