My only reason to give this review a 4 is because of the table next to us. We walked in last night at 2000 and the host was gracious and cleaned up a table for us so we wouldn’t have to wait too long (this is important later). Very personable servers and bussers. Water and hot bread were here before you know it. Knowledgeable staff and while we were waiting for our meal, the entitled table next to us started their plan to get money off of their check. “My crostini is burnt and I’m not paying for it.” Crostini is grilled over a flame sir is what I was thinking but the server being the professional she is said “I’m sorry, I can get you a new one and I’m taking off the bill for you. Let me make this right ” to which he said “no and I’m not paying for it. I don’t want a new one”. As I’m salivating over that crisp perfect crostini trying to make eye contact to tell her to drop at our table and we’ll gladly pay for it- it went away. Next, we had an older gentleman have a medical emergency and the staff called 911 right away to take care of him. The gentleman passed out right there and everyone was worried except guess who? Yup they complained the police/ambulance came and ruined their meal. We know where you have a one way ticket to sir. Then the woman perfect for this man seated at his right starts yelling at the busser when she comes to see if they want anything wrapped up. It is customary to pre-buss a table during guests stay so they don’t have to look at empty plates and scraps during their stay. Mrs Misery (in order to protect their identity) screams at the young girl “can’t you wait until we’re gone to do this…and dismisses her in a rude way that you would see maybe in a Waffle House at 0400 on a Friday night. Horrible guests. We consoled the busser and insured the staff that they were professional, caring and handled the family of...
Read moreDear Owners of A Modo Mio Ristorante,
I am writing to you today to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the treatment I received at your restaurant on my recent visit. As a local food reviewer, I was excited to try out your establishment and share my experience with the community. Unfortunately, what I encountered was far from what I was hoping for.
During my visit, I requested a different type of pasta than what was listed on the menu. I was not informed that there would be an upcharge for this substitution, and when I received my bill, I was surprised to see the additional charge. When I requested to speak with a manager about this matter, the response I received was completely unacceptable.
The manager who came to speak with me not only questioned my intelligence, but also insulted me in front of my friends. This behavior is completely unprofessional and disrespectful, and I was left feeling embarrassed and humiliated.
As a local food reviewer, I take my role in the community seriously, and I cannot in good conscience recommend your restaurant to others given the treatment I received. I sincerely hope that you take this matter seriously and take appropriate action to ensure that your customers are treated with respect and professionalism...
Read moreOur absolute favorite restaurant at the Jersey shore for Italian since finding it 4 years ago. We visit at least 5 times per season, have taken many guests, and have never been disappointed with any dish! Staff are so accommodating and attentive. The food is simply delicious, with both traditional favorites and unique dishes. The starters, salads, bread, and regular menu items are so good we talk about our meals for days after. Chef Eric is friendly, and very gifted in preparing meals--the food literally tastes like magic!! You know it's good when you watch your partner's face and he's closing his eyes to further savor the taste! All signature dishes are fantastic. Favorites are the calamari, the bruschetta (best ever anywhere) the arugula salad, the short rib ragu, the branzino, Fra Diavolo anything, pork shank (special-- call ahead to find out when they are serving). Great establishment for...
