Sands Department Store — Local services in Sea Isle City

It is inexplicable to me that I just discovered Sands this week during our beach trip after having spent over fifteen years vacationing in the area.

What a treasure this family-owned business is to the community! The store boasts a substantial and thorough variety of clothing, toys, souvenirs and household items. And this is the only spot where I have found an amazing selection of Strathmere apparel and collectibles. It is evident immediately after being welcomed to the store that its owners, Arthur and Lisa, strive to ensure that customer service is their preeminent goal. Both were exceptionally personable and accommodating throughout our visit. They went way above and beyond in taking the time to converse with us as well as assisting with our needs. Lisa even took requests for specific items that we were seeking to purchase for next season so that they are in stock when we return (she also said that she is always happy and willing to take phone orders and ship items to the customer).

I'm so disappointed that I'm only now finding this hidden gem, but here's to making up for lost time! I highly recommend patronizing this incredible Sea Isle small family business. This will be our new "go-to" each time we visit the area. Already very much looking forward to...

Sands is an absolute treasure, a throw back to simpler/better times. The store has just about everything you need whether you are an owner/renter/fishermen or day tripper. The owners are incredibly nice, knowledgeable and customer service focused. Family owned. These peole are SO nice. I called on phone five minutes before they closed to ask if they had small propane tanks. Not only did they go check to ensure they were still in stock, they had them ready at the counter and stayed open so could grill-out that night.
